"You're mental," Sage let her face rest in her hands. "You are absolutely mental."

"Hear me out," Rose tried reasoning although she didn't have much to say. Three icicles were melting in their dorm. What was there to say?

She was finishing her fist punishment of the day: scrubbing the school's toilets. It was the worst in store for her for the day but not the worst she knew she would face soon enough.

The sun hadn't risen yet and the moonlight shone through the blurred out windows. It was half four and Rose still had a couple more punishments to endure before breakfast.

Sage had, for once, decided to help her. She didn't do much helping though. She just didn't want to be in the same room as the icicles and get the blame. She also wanted to rebuke Rose.

"Hear you out?" Sage snarled. "You mean you have a perfectly logical and understandable reason for this? If so, please enlighten me so I know what to say when we get locked up in a dungeon!"

"We won't be locked up-"

"This is a crime, Rose. C-R-I-M-E. Crime."

"No one will find out."

"Hiding Icicles isn't like 'Where's Wally'. It's like having a zebra amongst a flock of sheep. Anyone could see them without even trying!"

"If they stay in our dorm-"

"Two words, Rose: Dorm inspection."

"We already had one yesterday. I doubt they'll have it two days in a row."

"So the Icicles are just staying for a day? 'Cause I thought, and I bet Lynn also thought, that this is a long-term plan."

"I just mean that they spend afternoons to midnight with us and then stay away from the dorms all of morning."

"And security? How will they get past the security?"

"I still have to figure that out... Good thing I have a day to do so."

"Getting involved with security, huh?" Felix chuckled as him and Aidan walked through the doors to the toilets. "You're an Embidan, Rose. Thought you were supposed to be a good girl."

"You're late," Rose ignored his words and pushed a mop in his direction while handing Aidan a toilet scrubber. "So you guys get the worst jobs."

Felix and Aidan got punished after messing around with a laser and fire foxes. It's a long story but to summarise, fire foxes are like cats when it comes to lasers. They tried to catch them but the only difference is that fire foxes literally go berserk. They scratch, growl, jump, claw, sprint, everything you can think of. And you'd think crashing into walls or hard rock would calm them down, even for a second, but it doesn't.

Considering the state the Fire Kingdom was left in after the horde of fire foxes knocked down and broke everything in their path, Rose was impressed that neither of them were banished to freeze to death in the Ice Kingdom.

"That's not fair," Aiden pouted.

"You got more sleep than the both of us," Sage retorted. "So I consider it fair."

"And what have you done, sweetheart?" he rolled his eyes. "Chatting while watching Rose clean around isn't working. It's just laziness."

Sage glared.

"Shut it, you! I'm not punished like the rest of you nimwits. I'm just here to keep you company. I sacrificed my sleep for this."

Rose scoffed at the blatant lie. It wasn't unlike Sage to get up early to laugh at her friends' miseries. But keep them company? What a laugh!

"Think we don't know you better than that?" Aidan laughed. "Besides, you make it seem as if you're doing us a favour. I'd rather lick all these toilets clean than spend five minutes with you."

"Is that a bet?" Sage challenged. "Because I was actually considering going to grab a snack from the cafeteria."

"Sage," Felix called out, unamused and longing to end an incoming fight. "Be honest. Why are you actually here? To laugh at us? Tease us? Go ahead. Laugh all you want. Then leave us in peace. Your aura's making me sick."

Sage glared hard at him.

"Actually," she sucked on the inside of her cheek. Rose pleaded her not to mention the Icicles through a telepathic message but Sage took no notice. "Rose smuggled three Icicles."

"What?" The boys asked in unison.

"So much for not wanting to get caught," Rose mumbled bitterly under her breath.

"Wait, you're admitting to it?" Felix questioned.

"I wouldn't call it smuggling. I gave them a place to stay and cool off a bit. They were melting. Besides, she asked for help."

"She?" They asked in unison again.

"Yes, she. Her name is Lynn, I think."

"Is she hot?" Aidan asked, wriggling his eyebrows.

"Actually, considering she is from the Ice Kingdom, she tends to be cold in temperature. However, if you are referring to the word good-looking, I can verify that she is, indeed, 'hot'," Sage responded with w matter-of-fact tone, earning glares from the boys and a snicker from Rose, who was practically done with her punishment by now.

"Are the other two also 'good-looking'," Felix mocked her.

"They are boys," she stated.

"Your point is? And we didn't ask for their gender. We asked if they were good-looking," Aidan spoke.

"Yes, they are. Happy?"

"Very," Felix grinned.

"Are you done here?" A voice came from the door before Dusk's figure was finally noticeable.

"Dusk?" Sage asked. "What are you doing here?"

"I could ask you the same thing. Last time I checked, you weren't punished. On that note, I thought punishments were meant to make you feel remorseful. Feels like I just disrupted a parade."

"Catch me at a parade," Aidan started. "And the last thing you'll find me doing is cleaning a toilet."

"Of course. You'd be leading a pack of agitated fire foxes," Dusk rolled his eyes before landing his gaze on Rose. "I've been looking for you everywhere. Fire wants to see you this evening."

"Got it... Wait, what do you mean by everywhere?" She asked, growing worried.

Dusk said nothing but there was a glint in his eyes, Rose wasn't quite fond of. The fire tiger marched off happily, knowing Rose got the idea. He caught them.
