After we ate in a painful silence the maids came to collect our dishes "come," demanded Cryo as he stood up from the chair. I simply just stood up and followed. We traveled in silence until we reached the balcony, I have spun around and was placed into Cryo's arms. I gave words of protest but he didn't care he only gave me three words "he's not mine," he answered calmly and I cocked an eyebrow in confusion "who's not what?" I played stupid "Jake, he's not my son..." he paused before cupping my face in his hands. He searched for the expression he wanted, but all I could give was a blank one "nice one," I said not convinced at all "he's not! Why would I lie?" He growled in frustration before pinning me to the wall "what a very convincing way to convince me," I said sarcastically. Cryo just sighed before closing his eyes and taking my left hand. He lowered my hand to his heart and placed it there. When I touched his chest, I felt all of his emotions rush into my heart I felt his embarrassment, anger, and honesty. There wasn't a hint of deception in his heart "Who is he?" I broke the silence and Cryo opened his eye slowly, his pure white eyelashes flutter with the action and I was left staring into his white orbs that looked as if they could read your soul "I...I cannot answer that," he gave a sad and worried look "fine I won't pry any further," I said in defeat and Cryo perked up "thank you, " he kissed my cheek and I laughed "what happened to that cold attitude you had..." I trailed off and he gave me a glare "you want me to be cold?" He said while picking me up and opening the door "I never said that," I smiled nervously but he just continued to stare at my reactions "awe what happened to that fiery attitude you had?" He said sarcastically and I sneered at my nose "nice one," "I do try" he replied. "Oh, Your Maj-" a maid paused and bowed her head. "Nika goes ahead of me," Cryo smiled gently before setting me down. I left silently and headed towards the kitchen, but I was curious 'why did he have me leave before letting the maid speak?' I questioned before u-turning back to were Cryo and the maid stood and hid behind the door that was just before the door to the balcony "what is it?" "Your Majesty it's the King, he requests an audience with you and his son," the maid said while slipping Cryo a red envelope with a dark grey seal, after receiving the envelope Cryo quickly dismissed the maid who took her leave hastily and quietly "what could he possibly want now?" Cryo sighed while opening the envelope. We both stood in silence as he read. "Tomorrow huh," Cryo finally spoke "tomorrow?" I whispered quietly while looking down, my whisper must have caught Cryo's attention because when I looked back up he was nowhere in sight 'huh?' I thought while looking around "it's not nice to eavesdrop Nika," Cryo spoke into my left ear causing me to jump "and it's not nice to scare people half to death!" I replied while giving him a glare, Cryo just sighed and I stared at him waiting for him to tell me about the invitation. "What is th-" I was cut off by the sound of running footsteps "Y-y-y-y-your Majesty!" a fair-skinned maid said while running up to Cryo "Pat? what...what is it why are you so out of breath?" Cryo said while placing both of his hands on the shoulders of the worried Pat, I growled slightly at the contact but muffled it. "I-it's Ja-" "what about Jake!?" Cryo seemed worried, his eyebrows lifted with anxiety "it's the humans...t-they broke in and..." her long pause gave us enough time to guess what was going on "WHAT DO YOU MEAN BROKE IN AND...!!" Cryo screamed, causing me and the maid to cower in fear and retreat from his side "c-calm down Cryo," I tried to calm his anger but choked on my fear in the process "we must get him back...NOW!" he ordered the maid before turning to me "I'm sorry but I must go" he said before taking off leaving me there to ponder what was going to happen next.
