Coronation Day

Nate took a deep breath as he went through the coronation. He removed his gloves, and took the orb in one hand and the sceptre in the other. He tried to keep himself calm as he was officially announced the King. As he noticed some ice trying to creep up the items, he quickly set them down and put his gloves back on. As everyone was applauding his coronation, Morgan was stood beside him.

"I don't think-"

The servant walked away, so Morgan stopped mid-sentence.

"You look beautiful," Nate said.

"You look beautifuller," Morgan said. "Well, not fuller... more beautiful."

Nate chuckled softly. God, she was adorable. And her cooking was divine.

"What's that smell?" he asked.

"Chocolate," they said in unison.

"I made it for your coronation," Morgan said.

Nate smiled as the Duke of Weasel Town came up and asked him to dance.

"Oh... um... I don't dance," he said. "But my royal adviser would love to dance with you."

Morgan was about to protest when the Duke pulled her onto the dance floor. Nate just gave her a wink.

"So, why did they close the gates?" the Duke asked. "Do YOU know?"

"No," Morgan said. "One, I was a kid at the time. And two, I'm nothing more than a servant. I'm as clueless about anything around here as anyone is."

"I see," the Duke said. "You wouldn't know, would you?"

After the song, Morgan walked back to Nate.

"Well, he was sprightly," Nate said.

"Especially for a man in heels," Morgan replied. "I need to go check on the food."

Nate nodded as Morgan walked away. Later on as he was walking around greeting the people, she came up to him with a boy.

"Who's this?" Nate asked.

"Prince Hans of the Southern Isles," Morgan said. "We wanted to tell you the exciting news. Hans asked me to be his girlfriend! We're dating!"

Nate froze. Morgan was dating another Prince? He didn't trust this guy at all.

"I forbid you to date him," Nate said.

"Why?" Morgan asked.

"Because I said no! Besides, you can't date a guy you just met!"

"You can if you have a connection," Morgan said.

She grabbed Nate's hand. He pulled back, his glove coming off.

"I said no, and that's final," he said. "Now give me my glove."

"I've been loyal through everything," Morgan said. "I just want this one thing."

"I said no!"

Nate threw his hand out, ice spikes rising up from the floor. Morgan gasped softly, watching as Nate ran out the door.

"Nate, wait!" she called, chasing him.

The Duke was yelling about Nate being a sorcerer, a Monster, and claiming he tried to kill him (he'd slipped on a bit on ice).

"Morgan," Hans said.

"I have to go after him," Morgan said.

"What if he hurts you?"

Morgan smiled.

"He won't hurt me," she said. "Nate's my best friend. I know he cares about me. He's just scared. And now that I know, I understand why he locked himself away. I'm going after him. I'll bring him back. Someone bring me Nate's horse!"

A servant collected the black mare. She had a black and red mane that was pulled into a loose side pony tail with a blue bead. Morgan mounted the horse and rode off in the direction of the North Mountain.
