Esme was trying to help Andy get rid of the ink he left on his face. It was ridiculous how much he got on his face while he drew on the bumpy drive back to the base. Before she intervened in his attempt to clean it up it looked like he had a bottle of ink splashed on one side of his face.

She was trying to get rid of the last of it when Catlin spotted them and she looked furious. Andy never saw his mother so protective when she ripped open the door and grabbed him by the wrist. She also removed Esme's hand from her son's face and glared. On anybody else including Andy that would have left your frozen with fear but Esme didn't care about that. What really got a reaction out of the telepath is what Catlin said.

" Never try to take advantage of my son Frost. Besides on your way back you called ahead and said you were going to be back right on time. I come out to see what delayed you and see you trying to prey on Andy using this car as the perfect place for whatever sick idea." Andy was never more embarrassed by his mom or more afraid of her.

" That's not what happened. I was drawing and got a lot of ink on my face. She helped me get it off. Mom you gotta believe me." Catlin did not but she did stop trying to drag Andy out of the car. And she did calm down and started speaking reasonably.

" I saw the smile on your face Andy. And even if that was the case and what really happened I've noticed your reactions and private talks. How flustered you are when someone brings up one of the embarrassing stories. You rush to each other defense. Whatever is occurring between you two and whatever is building you need to stop fighting it. But Andy promise me you'll be careful in every way. Our family doesn't require a new addition for a long time." Andy never looked more embarrassed.

Esme was never left speechless. " If you force him into anything he isn't comfortable with or hurt him trust me you'll pay. A mother always knows and finds a way to get back at someone who hurts her child. Believe me."
