Chapter 18

Authors note: Okay guys I have introduced the idea of her going into heat. Let me explain a little more the way I will approach this issue. Its still open to debate as of now. I just want to explain the way I will do this. So that you guys kind of have an idea of how i will approach it and be able to give me a go ahead or not. It is the kind of thing that is not particular to the story it will just furthur their relationship a little bit faster. Her hormones will be raging and she will be extremly agressive pissy and frustrated and obivously she will want her mate. Its natural but she can control herself she realizes that thranduil is defianatly not going to accept her being his mate at the point where this will happen in the story. They haven't barely moved past being friends at the point it will happen. And thranduil has an amazing soloution for her and it will build some trust between them and give them some bonding experience kind of like the day after the battle.  No sexual stuff it might get to a kiss but thats as far as it will go.  So just comment and let me know any furthur yay's or nays on the issue. haha. its no biggie i'm just asking for some advice. =) hope you guys read and enjoy. <3

A moment out of time. . .

She was rushed to the seamstress as soon as she had stupidly agreed to do the ending act. The costume was icy silver and pristine white. Flowing and ethreal with diamonds sewn into the silken and gauze material. She felt out of her element as they went over the routine of what she was supposed to do. The dance wasn't hard it was actually very challenging for her cat like skills and mind. It was the finery they insited she wear and the silvery powder they were going to dust over the tops of her shoulders and her temples.

'oh the reaper will come reaping to your door very soon mister thranduil' she thought as she stepped out of the dress and headed toward the feast.

She was sidetracked and forced into another dress. Her hair braided and ornaments put into it. she was completely frustrated when she entered the feast area. She was going to barge down the stairs when a hand caught hers and guided her gently down the stairs. The scent of crisp fallen leaves with the first hint of frost on them told her who it was before she looked.

Thranduil was dressed in a silvery robe that she decided didn't suit him as well as his not so . . . poofy robes. He was a warrior king he should not dress in such frivolous things she decided. She was guided to sit beside him in the place of honor. Food was served and she looked at it wearily and the dancers began to dance and entertain everyone.

"The food is delicious and it won't bite you. I promise." Thranduil muttered beside her so quitely it could have been snow fall.

"Its not that I normally eat alone and not so near to others. It's a . . . um leopard thing." she said back as quitely. His smile was one that was for show so that his guests thought he was enjoying their talk. Though there was some amusement in his eyes it wouldn't garner such an impressive smile.

"Well for tonight eat my food and share my wine. Entertain my people and I will keep my promise." he said.

"Your promise to fulfill any wish that I deem worthy of you to fulfill?" she reminded him.

"Yes Lady Navea any wish that you deem worthy of me to fulfill." he agreed.

She fought back her cats skitishness at eating near others and ate a small amount to be polite. Though her appetite was more like a cats. Gorging herself in one big meal once a week. The same with water. It was a left over trait from her days of being a slave. Food wasn't given often and she didn't want to have to get used to the knawing hunger again.

As the evening progressed Thranduil inquired about her people and how well the men wounded recovered. He also wondered when the first scouts would arrive. They hadn't decided that earlier in the afternoon. When the assistant appeared and motioned her to come. She knew the evening was drawing to a close. It was now her time to shine as they said. Her nerves were getting the best of her.

****************************

The drums beating and the bells resounding told of the begining of the ending act. Navea appeared in a veil of mist. She moved from pose to pose so gracefully she reminded him of waves gently reaching the shore. Moves so fluid and graceful that it was inhuman almost beyond elvish doing. She was a level above the other dancers he had seen tonight and every other before her.

When the beats began to pick up and song was added to the music she twirled and twisted to the beat of the music. Slow and calculating in her movements. All of them senuous and seductive though he was sure she wasn't intending it that way. It was all apart of her natural body movements.

When the crscendo came a cord was lowered and she grabed onto it and it seemed as if she was dancing as she floated above the heads of his guests. It was far more stunning than when the other dancer rehearsed for him. Her moves were even more supple suspended into the air. She was bekoning them all into her world. A world of deep passions and innocent seductions.

In the moment her now glowing yellow green eyes meet his time stopped. His breath hitched at the intensity in her eyes. The cat like peering into his soul. The surreal passions he saw dwelling in her eyes. The guest disappeared and he felt as if he was in a moment out of time. A moment in her world of passions and untamed freedom. She represented all of these in that moment. And he felt himself wanted to touch her silvery sheened skin to see if it was cold or hot. To see her eyes in all the moments between them to see exactly when that look would come into her eyes. Her visage was burnt into his memory. It was the surrealness of her movements and that moment that had caurterized it in his mind.

'Truly evanescent is this beauty of hers. Truly another sight I shall never see agian.'

Once it was done and over with he bid his guests good night and went to his rooms. She left as she had claimed she would after the feast. She would be going back with her people. He didn't sleep and found himiself sketching the sights he had seen that night. The dance that she had performed so well as to steal his breath and his boredom from him.

For some reason he always felt that she turned his world upside down whenever she was near. For another odd occurance he didn't mind it. At least it saved hiim from the insistent boredom he felt. It saved hiim from the ridgidness he had been taught to show to others. She saw right through it with those knowing feline gazes. She saw that though he was cold he did have a heart. That though he was bound by ridgid regality that even kings needed to find amusement and to smile. He found hiimself slightly smilng at his thoughts.

'the next thing you know i will be calling her a friend.' he thought wryly.
