Chapter Five

I heard the door to the room open which causes me to sit up in the old bed I am laying on. It was Kane. His clothes were dirty and he smelled of blood. Not his.

"Where were you?" I question him.

"Why do you care?" He says bluntly.

"Because you took the chips they are tracking us with. Secondly, I was not given an option when I was drugged and brought here. Thirdly, I can smell someone else's blood all over you." I state with no emotion.

"I ran until I found a town. I put the trackers on separate vehicles making it look like we separated but stayed with our mates. The blood isn't your concern." He says to me.

Anger began bubbling up inside me and he was on my last nerve.

"Sorry, I forgot you're a murdering coward." I shout across the room.

Nearly seconds later at an inhumane speed I was against the wall with his hand around my throat. His grip was not tight enough to block the oxygen from going to my brain but enough to hurt.

"You should learn to keep your mouth shut about shit you know nothing about. You do not know me." He growls in my face.

He dropped me on the bed and went back to the closet area to change his clothes. I was scared. He was found guilty of being the worst murderer in the world and just had me in a position to kill me if he see fit.

Now though I am also confused. He did not hurt me even though I said what I said. He just took an old worn-out blanket from closet and curled it on the floor.

My wolf howled in silence at the sadness she knew we caused mate. Wolves are so easily to fall head over heels for their mates but the human side keeps a rational mind with these things. I mean if he can so easily murder thousands of people in cold blood, why wouldn't he do the same to me.

It still didn't make sense in my mind though. Why was the Alpha not having a search party for their missing members. I know he hates my guts and all but this is still all to weird for me.

My head starts pounding and I can feel the urge building within. It has been about a week since the last time I let it be released. God why now? I stumble away from the bed and out of the room. She is fighting me for control but not here.

"Charlie, Liz." I shout as I stumble down the dark hall.

I can hear their muttered voices approaching. My eyes now must be flashing colors. I hear their panic.

"Wynter, you have to let her out. Let her release." Charlie shouts.

I shake my head no. I cannot do that. Not with the others here. I do not know what she would do. Not here, not now.

"What is happening to her?" I heard Kane's voice.

"It is hard to explain." Liz stuttered.

She was stuck between a rock and a hard place. She does not want to reveal my secret and she wants to help me as well. She doesn't know what to do.

"It cant be that hard to explain. Please tell me. What is wrong with her?" Kane asks and as I am fighting my own inner demons. I can hear the true concern in his voice.

"Fuck it. Be mad at me Wynter. This is for your own good. She is of Alpha blood. If she doesn't let her wolf out every so often when her emotions run high this happens. The Alpha is trying to take over. She is refusing to let her out." Charlie shouts.

I ignore her words and try to focus on my wolf and keeping her at bay. My breathing is heavy and my heart is racing uncontrollably. I feel large rough hands grip my face firmly pulling me to look at a pair of blackened orbs.

"Wynter, you have to let her out. No one is going to hurt you. If you don't it can kill you trying to force her in. You both are one, you need to trust her." He begins talking to me.

His tone now is way different than just a few moments ago with his hands around my throat.

"Kane!" One of the boys shouts.

"Kane, Rogues!" I hear the echo and Kane's eyes widen.

"You two do not let anyone near them. I will handle them." Kane says as he leaves me and walks outside.

My body is now shaking as my wolf is clawing from the inside to be released.

"Wynter please." Liz states.

"Wynter, trust her. Please nothing bad will happen. Trust us, trust her please." Charlie begs of me.

"I can't. What if she hurts someone?" I ask.

I see Jensen set Charlie to the side as he now was in front of me.

"Wynter, listen to me. This will kill you. Kane ordered us to stay here to protect Liz, Charlie and You. There are many rogues out there. He needs your help. Let her come out. Trust in her, she is a part of you. Stop fighting it, please." Jensen says with deep concern.

I just do not want to hurt the girls or anyone for that matter. I do not want to be anything like my father. I can't let anyone hurt them either. Please. Be on my side.

I then hear a painful howl from Kane and then decide to finally trust her.

A growl emerges from my chest as my bones slowly began cracking. Each shot of pain with each and every bone breaking and realigning into hers. Fur replacing the skin that was once there. Heat rushes through my blood as I hit the final part of the transformation.

I see Jensen and Brian staring at me in awe.

"She is as big as Kane." Jensen says in shock.

I rush out the door and see dozens of wolves surrounding Kane who is still in human form. He is doing his best to fight them all off. He is holding his own against dozens of rouges. All eyes including Kanes were on me. I notice a rogue taking advantage of the distraction and biting down hard on Kanes collarbone.

A roar rips through my throat causing everyone to freeze where they stood. My wolf was on the attack. Dodging the other rogues and leaping unto the one who had ahold of her mate. She tore through his flesh as if it were paper.

The rogue dropped to the earth as a sack of potatoes. Blood dripping from her snout and the metallic taste on her tongue. She hovered over her mate snarling at the rogues. Daring them to come any closer.

Another rogue then tried their luck. They charged at me but my wolf was not backing down. She threw her paw at the charging rogue. Her claws dug into the rogues snout and I could hear the bones breaking. The rogue quickly retreated with the injury my wolf left it.

Another roar rips through my chest and then I saw Charlie, Liz, Brian, and Jensen. They were by our sides in a matter of seconds to fight with us. The rogues looked back and forth at one another. They then slowly retreated into the background.

My wolf looked back at her mate who was staring back at her. Those black orbs of ink are hard to read any emotion. My wolf is now calm but I feel mentally drained. Fighting the Alpha blood always does this to me. My wolf retreats into our mind and I am left in control.

Black dots blur my vision as our body thumps to the ground. I felt sparks wrap around my frame and I looked up seeing it was Kane. Then darkness again surrounded me.
