Chill 23

Nisha woke up shivering and Jack helped her in bringing her body temperature back up. He hadn't meant to fall asleep like that the night before, but they had both been so physically and emotionally exhausted after what had happened between them. Nisha quietly told him that she wanted to take a break from all the sex and Jack, just as quietly, agreed that they should.

All Sunday they spent the day together, watching movies and playing some of Jack's video games. He was a little surprised to find that she was able to keep up with him on a lot of his games with almost no trouble. She had laughed at his expression when she beat him soundly in one game. "I'm a woman of many talents," she explained.

He had only been able to shake his head, laughing himself. "Obviously, love. And you said you've never played this before, right?"

"Exactly. I've never even heard of this game before, either," she admitted.

He sighed. "Please...my ego...it's crumbling...!" He clutched a hand to his chest, his bottom lip shaking in a pout. "You're so nonchalant about how easily you just whooped my ass too...Nisha, it hurts..."

She reached out and flicked his forehead. "Don't underestimate me ever again, Jack. You just had to learn the hard way."

Monday morning came and both of them got ready for school. Nisha had woke up late and she was panicking, grumbling at Jack for not waking her up. He simply shrugged and said she had looked so serene, like an angel, while she slept. He hadn't been able to bring himself to wake her. Still grumbling irritably, calling him a few curse words, she trudged into the bathroom to take a quick shower.

When she was done, Jack had apparently pulled out an outfit for her. He himself was already dressed and ready with his school bag. He wore a white t-shirt and khaki's, his shoes absent like any other day. He had even made sure that her school bag was ready to go as well. Blinking in surprise, she thanked him.

He took her hand and directed her to the edge of the bed, sitting her down next to her clothes. He held out her bra and she put it on. While she did so, he brushed out her hair. After a few seconds, she pulled on her socks and jeans as well. The entire time the brush stayed steady, untangling the knots in her hair. It was a weird moment, a weird feeling for him to brush her hair for her while she dressed. It was intimate on a level much deeper, than just having sex. It wasn't exactly embarrassing to her. Just...strange.

In three minutes she was ready. Applying her deodorant, she brushed her hair over her shoulder and pulled on the same light blue turtle-neck she wore when she first met Jack's family, a little over a month ago. Jack pulled her back against his chest for a quick hug and chaste kiss. They gathered their book bags and hurried to the dinning hall. They greeted everyone quickly before wolfing down their breakfast. The family did the same, eyeing them.

Grace chuckled. "Let me guess, Snowflake. You slept in this morning, didn't you?"

Blushing faintly, Nisha chose not to answer as she gulped down her glass of milk. Jack laughed around a bite of toast. "Nana knows you so well, love," he grinned after swallowing his food. Nisha elbowed him in the arm, which made him laugh even more.

Grace smiled warmly, watching the couple happily. She had been worried, but seeing them together, she saw she had no need to be so. They'd be fine. Truly, they suited each other so well, it was almost a little startling. Glacia and Quentin observed the two as well, having the same thoughts as Grace. Glacia was glad, but Quentin felt a little bitter.

He still didn't really like having a human married to his heir. He was still very worried about the magical abilities of their union. Sighing, he ran a hand through his hair. If worse came to worse in the next two years, he might even have to go to extreme measures. If this human turned out to be a bad card for him to have played, he'd just have to name Jacob's child as Jack's heir. At least Jacob was free and he'd be able to make a good, healthy marriage. With a powerful yuki-onna from a good, connected family, the union should produce a child powerful enough to handle the abilities required to take on the role of the Lord of Winter.

The title wasn't just a honorary thing. Being the Lord of Winter was just that. The Frost family line was charged with the entire season of winter itself for the Human world. As such, the Lord needed to be powerful and also able to control and manipulate his powers very well. Jacob was decently powerful, but in comparison to his younger brother, he barely had any power. Then again, Quentin muttered internally, when your brother is the reincarnation of the Jack Frost is it any surprise that you can never surpass him?

Jacob rose to his feet, glancing at the two late-comers. "Millie and I are going to go ahead and go out to the car. You two should hurry up." Leaning down, he slung his book bag over his shoulder. His younger sister stared at him for a few seconds before rising as well. She shot Jack and Nisha an apologetic smile before following after Jacob.

Nisha muttered darkly, making Jack grin. "Ah, can't you tell he cares about us? And you're so cute in the mornings, Nisha. You have angry storm clouds in your eyes...Ah, you keep striking my heart with lightening when you glare at me so!" He fanned his hand over his forehead dramatically.

"Stop acting like a fool and hurry up with your food, Jack. If you don't I'll light a fire under your ass," she threatened.

He cut her a saucy salute. "Yes, ma'am!"

The adults watched the scene, trying not to laugh. Quentin broke, chuckling under his breath. Despite himself, he had to agree that Nisha suited Jack very well. She was stubborn and saucy enough not to let him walk all over her. And Jack so obviously adored her that he didn't mind being told off now and again.

After only another two minutes, they both were as finished as they could be. Nisha jumped up, leaned down to hug her grandmother and kiss her cheek, as she did every school morning. Jack waved to the adults before they were both hurrying to leave, grabbing their things. In the entrance hall, they swiftly went through the normal routine of her bundling up and him assisting her to the car.

As soon as Jack had closed the passenger door behind him, Jacob sped off, making the others cry out in surprise. "We'll be late if we wait any longer," the oldest brother muttered in explanation. The rest of the car ride was silent. All four were lost in their own thoughts.

At school, they went their separate ways. But after getting her things together, Jack sidled up to her locker, his arms full with his own textbooks. "Let me walk you to class?" he asked. She shrugged and he smiled. They were late enough that the hallways were full and Nisha quickly realized why Jack had come to walk with her. Usually they made it to school early enough to avoid most of the traffic. But since they were running later than normal today, it was almost like a morning version of rush hour in the hallways.

Jack let off a slight chill, transforming, Nisha walking very carefully beside him. His frost only stayed in existence for two steps, just enough to force the other students to back off. Around them, he made an almost physical bubble of icy cold wind. Nisha shivered and Jack flashed her an apologetic smile. "As soon as we're closer to class, I'll stop. But there are a lot of Others who are...um, stronger this month. It's October now. And on All Hallows' Eve, you will be staying in the WinterPalace. No school for you, at all." He turned a cold, light blue eye down at her. "Is that clear?" he asked in a deadly voice. Swallowing, sensing this was something she wouldn't be allowed to protest, she nodded silently.

He sighed. "Good. There are too many dark, deadly, evil things that gain a very large boost in power for the entirety of this month. As such, I'm putting you under a form of arrest. You are not allowed to go anywhere, unless with a teacher or myself, understand?" She slowly nodded once more. "I'm not trying to appear mean, but I'm doing this for your safety. And my own sanity. If anything should happen to you..." His voice lowered to a threatening level.

Nisha shifted her books in her arms, reaching out to place a hand on his arm. He blinked, glancing down into her face. She smiled a little nervously. "Don't worry. With a knight as strong as you, I'll be perfectly fine, Jack." Still transformed, she saw a layer of warmth creep into his light colored eyes at her words. He said nothing else and she focused her attention on walking safely next to him.

After ten minutes they made it to the classroom. Jack dropped his powers and Nisha shivered in relief of the cold. If this kept up, she was probably going to start bringing a jacket to school with her. Besides, it was autumn now, so the air in the 'normal' part of the Other realm would most likely begin to get chilly now. Or, at least it would if it was anything like the Human world. Sighing at the complexity of her life, she stepped into the classroom.

As soon as she did, she was met with a strange silence. Jack came in behind her, closing the class room door. She hadn't taken a step forward yet, so he bumped into her. She took in the strange atmosphere in the classroom.

Amelia looked incredibly annoyed. Thomas, as was normal for him, looked bored out of his mind. Alec gave her a small, faint grin, but he seemed to be a little reserved than was normal. Nathan wasn't looking at her in the slightest, staring out of the classroom windows. Peri had a warm smile, waving as soon as she saw the two enter the classroom. Trevor was staring at her with a strangely intent expression. Slender was waving in the back, a large smiley face on his whiteboard that read Hey, guys! Etna gave them both a polite, distant smile, but quickly returned her attention to a book on her desk.

Remembering that she was standing just past the classroom doorway, Nisha quickly moved to her seat. She put all her things away, sensing the cold of Jack's body moving away as he headed to his own seat. A minute later, Mrs. Syrinx walked in. She was wearing a burnt-orange dress today, accented with dark green, light brown, and white streaks running through it. It seemed a little bit of an odd outfit, but personal choice was personal choice. The teacher greeted the class like any other day. Mrs. Syrinx began to chat with the class.

Nisha blushed a little as Mrs. Syrinx clapped her hands and smiled. "Okay, okay. I want to get it out of the way now. I, unfortunately, was unable to attend the big event last Friday." She glanced over at Nisha, frowning a little. "I do apologize that I had to turn down your invitation, but I had a sudden family emergency come up."

Nisha shook her head. "N-no, it's alright. Really. I hope everything turned out okay."

The teacher nodded. "Thankfully, it ended just fine. But I would like to congratulate you two, since I wasn't able to at the wedding." She smiled first at Nisha and then at Jack. "Congratulations on your marriage!" Mrs. Syrinx clapped her hands happily. "Oh, I so wish I could have been there...Weddings are so much fun!"

Peri smiled herself. "It was a beautiful ceremony," she reported. "It actually made me excited for my own wedding."

Their teacher blinked slowly. "That's right, Peri...You're getting married on the twentieth of this month, correct?" Blushing, the pegasus nodded. "Well, I'll most definitely be able to make it to your wedding. I can't wait!"

Mrs. Syrinx leaned forward on her podium. Her moss-green eyes were alight with excitement. She looked like she was having a girl's night out, instead of at her teaching job. "So..." she asked in excited curiosity to Nisha. "How does it feel to be married?"

Blushing deeply, Nisha ducked her head. "U-um..." She had no idea what to say. This was not how she expected her first day back to end up going.

Alec's slightly annoyed voice cut through her embarrassment. "Mrs. Syrinx, is this a appropriate conversation to be holding?"

Their teacher stuck her tongue out at Alec, her expression saying very clearly You're such a party pooper. Sighing, she straightened, screwing her face up into a normal expression. "Alright, alright," she muttered.

Nisha let out a breath of relief, shooting Alec a smile of thanks. He didn't look at her. She was curious as to what was up with him, but stayed silent. The rest of school fell back into the normal routine she had begun to grow use to in the month she had lived in the Other realm. The only real change she had to grow use to was being referred to as 'Mrs. Frost'. Well, that and the strange looks she kept receiving from many of the other students, especially her fellow high school students.

By lunch, which Jack made sure to walk her to, she was feeling exhausted. She got her lunch and smiled at Jack, her eyes silently letting him know she wanted some space from him. He nodded his head slightly and wondered off to get his own plate. Nisha found a table further away from the others to sit with Peri, who sat beside her instead of across from her. Nisha raised a brow, but said nothing as they both began eating.

Two minutes later, Peri cleared her throat, leaning her head close to Nisha's. And that's when she discovered why her friend wanted to be so close. "So," Peri whispered. "H-how bad was it?"

Understanding instantly what she was asking, Nisha flushed, glancing down at her plate. "It was...well, I mean..."

Peri giggled nervously. "I'm terrified," she confessed. Both of them made sure to keep their voices as soft as possibly, in case anyone tried to listen in. "I haven't even said one word to Vidar in two months. And now we're getting married in less than three weeks!"

Nisha glanced up, looking at her friend with pity. "W-well...to be honest, married life isn't so bad. B-but my situation isn't the same as yours. Peri...I think you need to sit down and have a real conversation with Vidar. And if that means you have to sit on him, or something, to get him to stay and listen, then do so." Her friend blinked at her in surprise. "I'm serious. You guys need to talk out everything that's going to happen. Avoiding the issue won't help you in the least. It's...it's what Jack and I did. And, truthfully, I'm glad we did. It was really hard. I was very worried and scared about how it would turn out. But it really helped our relationship. So, gather your courage and talk to Vidar."

They fell silent for three minutes, while her friend thought over her words. Finally, Peri spoke up, her voice shaky but determined. "I think you're right. I think that's a great idea. I kind of feel stupid for never thinking to do it before. But its just...I've been living with this marriage hanging over my head for the past nine years. And, well...Vidar just seems so...distant and out of reach. I don't know how to approach him. I've been engaged to him for half of my life and he's practically a stranger to me."

Nisha inhaled. "Well...I need to be honest with you. I'm was afraid of what would happen if I was honest, before. But now...I don't have any more reason not to confess. Truthfully, Jack's basically a stranger to me as well. I've only known him for a little more than a month." Peri watched her with wide eyes, staying silent. "According to Jack and my grandmother, I knew him as a child, even asked him to marry me. But I have no memory of it at all. We were really young and it was around the time my father died as well. Nana says that Dad and me were really close, before he died. Even so, I have nearly no memory of that time of my life. I think perhaps I forgot about that time in my life, as a form of grief. Anyway, Jack kept his promise and had considered the two of us engaged since then. And, while I was still in the Human world, he suddenly showed up on my seventeenth birthday."

Her lips twitched into a slightly bitter smile. "I thought he broke in, and I suppose he did, in a way. He came into my life, swept me up into his arms, and then into a blizzard. The next thing I know, I'm in a whole other world. I'm stuck in a different world, with no way or knowledge of how to get back. To make matters worse my grandmother is here as well. I'm surrounded by beings that aren't human, that could easily kill me, told that I'm going to marry Jack in two years time. I'm forced to begin living a life that is both familiar and completely different from how my entire life has been. I was terrified, confused, worried for my life. I was afraid if anyone else found out, Jack's family would do something horrible to me or Nana. That's why I never told you. But now...now I'm married, my life forever linked to Jack's. So, I guess now I'll never make it back to the Human world. And, to be honest...I'm not sure if I'm okay with that or not. But, for now, this is my life. For now, I'm stuck here. For now, I'll just keep going day-to-day, see what happens."

Peri's jaw was very nearly touching the table. "Y-you're serious?" she hissed, barley remembering to keep her voice down. "That's insane! Jack just...spirited you away from your world? A-and you've only really known him for a month and you're already m-married? D-did you guys...?"

Biting her lip, Nisha gave a small nod. Peri leaned back, her face filled with utter shock. "Why am I complaining to you about my problems? Yours are so much worse!" Hazel eyes latched onto Nisha's face, a small hand rising to pat her shoulder. "Hey...thanks for telling me. Hearing what you said, thinking about it through the perspective you would have had...I'm not mad about you not telling me before. Personally, I'm amazed you haven't tried to run away or something yet. It's all so...medieval."

Nisha turned to her in confused surprise. "What are you talking about? Nearly everything about this place is medieval to me. Besides the technology level and stuff...Everyone acts like it's still all knights and kings, princesses and dragons. That sort of stuff. It's crazy."

"Well...when you've lived this way your entire life, it just seems normal, honestly. What I think is medieval is how Jack just stole you away. It's been so long since anyone's heard of a Other taking a human. If they want anything to do with humans, most just get a approved pass from the ORGR and go through one of the Gates to the Human world. I thought it was really strange. A human in the Other realm? Well, two, in fact. Even more shocking. So...this explains a lot, actually."

Feeling a little depressed, Nisha decided to change the subject. "Okay, I need to ask. Why is everyone treating me so strangely? You know, more than usual."

Peri sighed. "It's because you got married. No students in the RoyalAcademy have been married before while still at school in about...a hundred and fifty years? I was going to break that record, but you beat me to it, barely. After my wedding, I'm sure I'll get tons of funny looks for awhile as well. But it's worse for you because you're human. I think some of the students and teacher thought perhaps your promised marriage to Jack would never actually take place. That something would happen at the last minute and you wouldn't get married. Instead, you guys got married even sooner than expected. You're also apparently related to the Canis' family, so there's that too. You've been here for a month and you're already connected to two of the four biggest families! You have the winter Frost family and the autumn Canis family. The phoenix Welsta family is the most important summer family and the Fae are the most important spring family. Now do you see why everyone is freaking out?"

Nisha tried to absorb this information, having not realized exactly how high she had apparently risen in the social circles. The bell rang and both of them sighed heavily. "Back to class," she groaned.

Peri nodded tiredly. "Good luck with everything. Also, thanks for the advice. I'm going to do my best and try to find some way to talk to Vidar as soon as possible. The sooner the better, right?" She flashed a nervous smile before waving goodbye.

The rest of the day continued like normal. By the end of it, Nisha felt so drained that she actually fell asleep in the car. She was awoken by Jack's cold lips running over her forehead. "...Huh?!" She gasped, jolting up, nearly running into his head.

Jack pulled back. "Whoa! Someone's awake. You okay? You just sort of passed out on the way home."

She looked around in confusion for several seconds. The car was empty, except for Jack who was sitting in the backseat next to her. He had shut the doors, most likely to keep the cold out. In his lap was all her winter gear. "Um...I was just really tired all day today. I've honestly just felt exhausted since I woke up and it never got any better. Sorry, for falling asleep." She rubbed at the back of her neck awkwardly.

Jack held out her coat and she began pulling it on. "No need to be sorry. I can understand how that is. I have days like that sometimes, though I don't usually pass out. If you need to, you can take a hour long nap when we get inside or something."

She shook her head, yawning a little as her brain fought to wake up more. "No, I probably shouldn't. It'll just screw up my sleep schedule."

He studied her critically for several seconds. "Well...if you're sure. But don't strain yourself or anything." His blue eyes suddenly flared with worry. "Is it all the crazy stuff over the weekend, do you think?"

Nisha shrugged, finished bundling up. "More than likely. I think it's just everything over the past week or so catching up to me. Last week was crazy, with all the schoolwork and the planning the wedding and the stress. I thought I was going to go nuts, honestly. And then, though really nice, the weekend was pretty crazy too, for other reasons."

He nodded, sighing. "Yeah, it was." He got out of the car on his side, moving around the car. Opening her door, he took her into his arms. He transformed, holding her close for a few seconds. Then, closing the car door behind him, he led the way into the palace. He helped her get her things off, handing them to a waiting servant.

At the top of the stairs in the entrance hall, Glacia was waiting for them. Her brown eyes were a mixture of stern and concerned. "Nisha, I'm sorry to hear you're tired today. But still, you're training begins today."

That's right, Nisha thought wearily. I completely forgot.

"Make sure you get all your school work done and I expect you in my study at five. That will give you a hour and a half to get your homework done. Dinner is at six. As well, we shall keep this schedule up from now on. I advise you grow use to it." Without another word, her mother-in-law continued down the west wing hall.

Jack glared after his mother, sighing heavily. "I'd like to tell her off again, but this is important. You have a lot to learn. Just...if you really do start to get worn out badly, tell her to fuck off, alright? I don't want you to pass out again. It can't be very good for you." Nodding, she followed him to their bedroom.

And so her new life began. After two days, Peri proudly reported that she had accomplished her goal. Vidar had been very surprised at how bold she had been and the two had spent two hours just talking honestly to one another. Peri confessed that she still didn't love him, but she felt like she understood him a little better now. And, even better, he had begun to treat her a little more warmly as well. He called her every other night and they talked for ten to twenty minutes, about whatever came to mind.

Nisha was relieved. She was also very happy for her friend. She had been really worried. But now that the two had opened a door of communication, she felt better about the whole situation. If all went well, Peri and Vidar might even come to love one another in time. Which brought her to thoughts of her own love life.

She still wasn't quite sure how to feel about Jack. She certainly cared for him, she knew that much. And, surprisingly, her life with him wasn't as bad as she feared. It fact, it was almost a little scary how easy it was to spend her days with him. They settled into a strange form of friendship. They talked about anything and everything, spent time together often, and had their fights as well. Nothing insanely bad, but there were a few times where they slept on opposite sides of their huge bed.

About once or twice a week, they lost the battle to fight their attraction. They'd give in to the call of each other, spending most of the night almost possessed with a frantic need to touch each other. She wasn't sure what it was about Jack, but she never seemed to be able to get her fill of him. And there were times when she just wanted to press her naked body to his and simply bask in the feel of his skin against hers. They tried to keep their selves leashed as much as possible. Their attraction to one another was so explosive it seemed dangerous at times.

When she wasn't at school, doing her homework, or with Jack, she was with Glacia. She had to learn everything, from the ground up. Currently she was learning all the royal families, plus their levels in the hierarchy system the Other royals had, and the major members of each family. She had three notebooks filled with notes, there was so much to keep track of. She was also learning all the different types of servants there were in the Frost household, their responsibilities, wages, and which servants fell under which category. That was only one notebook worth of information, but it was still very confusing. Since she was unable to communicate with the servants, all of them had to carry a pocket-sized notebook and pen with them. If they needed to talk to Nisha or Grace, they used the notebook.

Now it was finally three weeks later and Nisha was currently sitting at a large dinning table, set out in the Spring Meadow. It was late evening, as Peri wanted a wedding that went on into the night. She thought having the reception under the stars would be really neat and Nisha had to agree. Thankfully though, it was a lot warmer here, even for a October night, than over at the WinterPalace so Nisha didn't have to wear a jacket which was a relief. She was in a simple light pink bride's maid dress. Peri hadn't wanted anything too crazy and Nisha couldn't blame her. After all the talking Peri and Vidar had been doing, Peri discovered that he didn't like a whole lot of extravagance. This had caused her to go into a panic and start down-sizing parts of her wedding she had planned. Thankfully though, the Epona family wasn't insanely high on the royal hierarchy. As such, it didn't hurt her family to change the plans to be a little cheaper at the last minute.

Jack sat beside Nisha, smiling and joining in all the festivities. He was feeling super relaxed. A week and a half ago, Nisha's period had come. He was lucky that she had a very short period, only three days long. Though those three days had been the closest to hell he had ever felt. He had never had to experience it before, but he got a up-close and personal look at a hormonal-crazed teenage girl on her menstrual cycle. But even with all the new challenges he had been forced to face, he was relieved. He had dodged the bullet everyone had been expecting. Nisha wasn't pregnant and he wasn't going to be forced with the reality of becoming a parent.

Nisha watched the newlywed couple, feeling a little jealous, almost. The two had spent the last three weeks bonding as much as possible. Looking at their sheepishly happy expressions, she could see the beginning of affection and love forming. And, despite how happy she was for her friend, she was also jealous.

She had no real reason to be though. She knew Jack loved her, had even caught him looking at her several times with a expression that screamed it out. Even so...she was so tangled up in the complicated web of her own feelings. Every time she felt like she might be starting to love Jack, some nagging, sorrowful feeling seemed to pull her back. And she had no idea why.

All she knew was something deep inside her heart told her that their was something she had forgotten. Some deep, dark, pain-filled secret. But no matter how hard she tried, she could never seem to remember it. Though, from what Jack told her, she seemed to dream about it at times. He said she would have nightmares on occasions, calling out his name and crying in her sleep. But he didn't know what she dreamed about. He would just hold her close until she calmed down and fell back to sleep.

Taking in a deep breath, she reached out as a server passed by, carrying a tray filled with large mugs. Feeling her nerves squeeze her stomach, she didn't pause to think. She tipped her head back and downed the entire contents in one gulp. She grimaced at the taste and a few seconds later Jack cursed. "Hell, Nisha, what did you just drink?"

She lifted up the empty mug, seeing a few remnants of a foul-smelling, dark liquid. "I don't know," she admitted.

Taking the cup away from her, Jack cursed harder. "Well, you've just ingested alcohol. Great. I'm going to bet money you're a lightweight too," he grumbled. Sighing heavily, he placed the cup on the table in front of them. The Celtic music that had been playing gently in the background suddenly picked up a little in tempo. Jack glanced toward the meadow, where some of the guests were up and about, dancing to the music. Other guests were like them, chatting amongst their selves at the tables, enjoying the food and drink. "Maybe if we make a few rings around the dance floor, so to speak, you might burn some of it out of your system or something."

He was wrong...Dear gods, he was so wrong.

After ten minutes, the alcohol started to take effect, since his wife proved to be a light-weight, as he feared. She seemed calm at first, though. He thought he was safe. Instead he let his guard down.

While he was distracted, in conversation with someone else, Nisha snatched two more mugs from a server. By the time he had turned back to her, she had downed both of them. When he scolded her, she just smiled innocently at him. Growling in annoyance, he took her into his arms to try and dance. Ten minutes later she began to giggle. Everything he or she did, anything she heard, was reason for her to giggle more.

Eventually he pulled her against a tree, a ways from the party, kissing her to make her stop giggling. But that hadn't turned out how he meant. Still giggling a little, though she was definitely much more out of breath than before, she began to tease him. Her fingers played with him, her tongue driving him crazy as she kissed him over and over. At one point, she almost seemed to think that kissing him was the same thing as breathing. After ten minutes, he hadn't been able to hold it back any longer.

Torn between humor, shock, and a worried irritation, he pulled her deeper into the shadows. They came together in a quick, clumsily frantic tumble. Neither of them lasted long. He had enough sense to swallow her cries in his mouth though. After resting for a few minutes, he straightened their appearance and dragged her back. By then the party was coming to an end and he was thankful. The less people saw them right now, the better. It didn't help that Nisha was still tipsy, leaning into his shoulder, giggling against his chest.

The driver of their car stayed silent, face expressionless as Nisha began to try and attack him in the back seat. He forced her away and she whined and pleaded with him, giggling softly still. When they got home it was ten at night. Jack was thankful it was a weekend and that the rest of the family seemed to have already gone to bed. Trying to keep her as quiet as possible, he dragged her to their bedroom.

And then she proceeded to have her way with him, over and over. He hadn't meant for any of this to happen, but he was helpless against the sheer, giddy force that was Nisha Frost as this point. She latched herself to his body and refused to let go, stripping him. Then she pressed him up against the closed door and began to kiss and lick every single inch of skin she could find.

The entire time she was giggling and explaining to him how amazing he was to her. How his touch made her feel like she was drunk. How his kisses stole her breath. How she had no idea how to feel about him. How she thought they were best friends. How she thought she might love him. How she was afraid of the dark secret, which always made her question her feelings. How knowing how much he loved her made her question how she didn't love him back...

Over and over, the words tumbled out of her, all her walls and guards broken down by the alcohol in her system. And through it all, Jack had been torn between crying and kissing her senseless. Could he be blamed for giving in and letting her seduce him, clumsy though it was with all her giggling and her spinning mind?

After the third round, he had to call a stop to it all. He was reaching his danger level once again. But he didn't have to worry. Nisha passed out, spread out naked on the bed beside him. Sighing heavily, he laid on his side, gazing down at her sleeping face for a long time. Eventually, he got up to shower, dressing in the warmest clothes he had. He pulled her against his side, tucking the blankets around her to try and keep as much of the warmth in as he could. Then, feeling completely exhausted, he closed his eyes and held her close.
