Prince Yeonjun had left me confused and raging for days. For a flash of a second I thought I'd saved my self from a horrible marriage, that maybe under all the hard exterior was a soft and kind hearted boy who was misunderstood , but I was fooled.

How could I have even thought for a second that just because he seemed like an angel when he sleeps that he is one, he was the devil incarnated, deceiving me with his ethereal beauty.

Its been 2 days and I have not seen him at all, not even a run in at the dining table or in the hallways when we walk passed one another, he has been in his study constantly, even eating there.

I lay on my bed and began pondering on what could have caused him to snap at me like he did after he told me to lay by his side, but I stopped myself. I should not even care about what he has to say or what he does. This mindset motivates my next idea.

I want to go to see Soobin, half to annoy Prince Yeonjun who told me not to get close with his brothers and the other half to furfil my need to see his beautiful face once again.

Everything inside me was telling me that I need tosee him again. The way he made me feel, he made me feel like I was wanted. He made me wish that he was the eldest son whom I had to marry, but I unfortunately got a horrid piece of a man, if you could even call him one.

I got up, my silk dress shifting against my calves, making my way to the door and opening up, only to see, to my very surprise, that there stood the man I was set out to find.

"Hi," He says just above a whisper, if I was not hyperfixated on his every move I dont think I'd hear a single thing from him, that's how soft of a whisper he was speaking.

"Hi, " a small response from my side, but I said it alittle louder to make sure he heard me, "What brings you here?"

"I came to see you, Yeonjun hyung took you away too quickly that I didn't get to say goodbye the other day and its been eating at me, which is stupid, im acting stupid, you probably weren't having any thoughts and i was foolishly trying to work up the confidence to see you. " he rambled, his face turning red with each word he spewed. I laughed at his cute ways causinh him to stop and look at me. I give him a small reassuring smile.

"It's not stupid, Prince Soobin, I was just on my way out to see you." I said to him and he blushed harder looking me up and down then staring at the floor.

"In that dress, Princess Jina?" He says, his voice cracking like boy going through puberty.  I looked at my dress, its a simple faded white colour, the silk material falls way past my calves and the sleeves are long and flowy, the only thing that seemed out of the usual is the lower cut v neckline.

"Yes, Prince Soobin." I say to him, creating eye contact with the timid boy. His cute ears were a soft shade of pink. He cleared his throat before talking again.

"You may call me Soobin, we arent far from rank nor age." He says, this was the only time my confidence faltered. Beomgyu also told me to refer to him just by his name, but it didnt affect me the same way as Soobin saying did. His voice was smooth and low.

"Then you may call me by my name aswell, Soobin." I say and he puffs his chest clearing his throat again.

"Well, Jina, I believe I did show you the palace gardens, but I have not shown you the beautiful garden lights at night. Its truly a beautiful sight, for a beautiful princess such as yourself, to view." He says to me. My breath getting caught in my throat, luckily it was darker so the light blush on my cheeks were shadowed.

"I'd love to see the garden lights, Soobin." I give him my hand for him to guide me. He looked between me and my hand for a moment before taking it and guiding me to the gardens. Leaving the back door into the garden was a new breathtaking experience.

There were skattered lights that were a soft white colour all throughout the bushes and trees and in the center there was a bright star light above the point of the water fountain that acted as a center piece.

Soobin squeezed my hand tighter before guiding me to the water fountain. Hr gestured for me to take a seat in the bench area built into the water fountain. I sit down on the bench while Soobin sits next to me.

"It is really stunning, your kingdom has yet to disappoint me with its beauty." I say to him and he smiles at me.

"We've made it a thing to adorn the palace and the kingdom with flowers to distract from the horrible wars we were fighting. Little did we know that we'd be allowing the most beautiful flower into our palace that would finally end this war." He says, my heart beating. Was the flower he was referring to me?

"Its truly a shame we could not have ended this centuries ago." I say to him.

"Although I must say that I'd much rather you not marry my brother, I'm aware that he isnt the most pleasant, I'm glad I have gotten to know you. I hope to learn more about you, Jina." He was very smooth with his words, similarly to his brother. They had to have had the most amazing tutors in this palace.

"Honestly, hats off to your tutors for teaching such fine and well spoken men. Even if only two of the three are well mannered." I say to him which makes him laugh.

"We never had tutors, our father used to lock us in the libraries for hours til we could come out and recite what we had read to him. What was first a punishment became a hobby and we all soon found our happiness within the studies and libraries." He said and my eyes widened. If I had bren locked in a library as a child, I wouldve sworn off the damned room for the rest of my life.

Hell, I hated studying, the books and scrolls. They were horrid. I'd much rather help Mother in her garden or even better, sitting in the sun room with a large canvas and my finest paints and brushes.

"That's amazing how you've dedicated yourselves to studying. No wonder I first met you in the library and Prince Yeonjun in his study. Beomgyu has yet to be caught making out with his books." This comment caused the handsome prince next to me to let out a full and warm chuckle that caused me to return the joyful sound.

"Beomgyu is a very active being, he is like a child still. He likes his studying time to be separated from his sports. You saw him yesterday with his crochet. He plays tennis, golf, baseball." He says and I nod my head.

The night breeze is cold against my exposed skin. I let out a small shiver, Soobin takes note of this and gives me his knit grey jersey. Throwing it over my shoulders.

"Its not necessary, what if you get cold?" I ask him and with his hands placed around me, both hands on my shoulders. Our faces weren't far apart. I could feel his breath fanning my cheeks. Cooling down the heat I'm feeling.

"I don't mind as long as you are warm." He says, he whispered but it sounded louder due to the fact that he was righg by me.

Our faces started to slowly inch closer to each other, his eyes fall down to my lips. We got to just a breath away from eachother when we were sprayed wet, the castles sprinklers were turned on.

Both Soobin and I smile at eachother before bursting into a laugh.

"Quick lets go inside, i have something else to show you." He tells me and he takes me inside the palace again. We come inside and stand there laughing, trying to not be too loud that we wake anyone up.

He takes my hand and puts his fingers through mine. He starts pulling me in the direction of the lower level library.

"So I remembered that you told me about the sunroom back at your palace and I started planning something to make you feel more welcomed." He says opening up the library door and taking me to the back. A small door stood inbetween two boolshelves.

"Ladies first," He says as he opens the door for me to go through. It was a sunroom, it wasn't like the one at my palace but it was still spectacular. In the middle of the room was a large easel with a stool infront of it

"Is this?" I turn to him and he is just smiling at me.

"You said you loved the sunroom at your old palace because painted there and we have had this room for so long with no use. I also think it would br great if you paint here so the library doesnt feel so lonely next time I work here." He said and I just felt so overjoyed. I walked up to his tall body and stood on my toes to give him a peck on the cheek.

Under the moonlight shining through the windows I could see his cheeks and the tips of his ears darken with a red colour. He clears his throat but before he could say anything.

"Princess Jina?" Sooyoung stood at the door, clearly just awoken from her sleep jot too long ago, and at the sight of Soobin she shook out of her sleepy state, " I mean your Royal Highness."

She bows and I try to hold in my laughter. My cheeks hurt from all the smiling and laughing already.

"Sooyoung, what brings you here?" I ask her and he stands up straight.

"Your highness, I went to see how you were in your room when I noticed you were there, I thought you had possibly went for a night stroll in the castle and was worried you had gotten lost." She says, " I was unaware that you were accompanied by a His royal highness, Prince Soobin."

"Everything is alright, Sooyoung, you may go back to your room. Soobin shall escort me back to mine. I'll be alright." Her eyes widen as she looks to me, Soobin? she mouths at me. I nod my head and she bows before dismissing herself.

"It is getting a little late, Jina. Ill take you back now." Although part of me was disappointed I didnt get to spend more time with him, but I'm sure we'll see eachother more often since I'll be staying here.

We reached my door and I turned to him.

"Ill see you tomorrow," He says and reaches behind me to open my door, "sleep well."

"Goodnight," I say to him and back into my room, I bite my lip slightly as I try to withhold my smile. I slowly close my door and when it's closed, I press my back against and felt my heart flutter

The next morning I was invited to breakfast with the Queen. I threw on a floral dress and tied my hair back into a low ponytail with a ribbon made of the same material as my dress.

Sooyoung walks beside me as I make my way to the outside breakfast table.

"Ah Princess Jina, you look stunning, hope you had a lovely sleep." Queen Kathryn walks around the table to give me a small welcoming hug. She then goes back to her seat, "please, take a seat."

I sit across from her when one of the maids poured me a cup of tea and I thank her.

"So I called you here to discuss a ball, it will be the first appearance of you and Yeonjun as an engaged couple, we'll announce your wedding there." She says to me.

I had wished i didnt have to marry Prince Yeonjun, I had dreamt all night imaging it being another prince that I'd marry. One that was actually nice and treated me well, not to mention he cared enough to make me feel at home.

I would not even be joking when I say I'd also rather marry Beomgyu than Prince Yeonjun.

"A ball sounds delightful," I tell her as I take a sip of my tea.

"Thats great, I'll finalise the last few things and then send out the invites. Its going to be so amazing, this will be your first ball at the palace," She says and then suddenly she seemed to have an extra sparkle in her eyes, "Oh my word, I'm so excited to help you pick out a dress. Ive never had to do this, I've only had boys."

Her excitement brang me so much joy. Something so small made her happy.

"I'd love to have you help me pick out my dress for the ball." I say and her smile broadened.

"I'm truly so happy to have you in our palace. Its so nice having another girl in the palace." She tells me. Its official, the only one who doesn't really want to have me around, is the man im marrying.

-~°~-

After the breakfast with the Queen I went for a stroll around the palace, walking to the sunroom. The library seemed empty, which made my heart sad because I didnt see Soobin studying here.

"Sooyoung, you and the ladies may take the day off, I wish to just paint in peace." I say to her while sitting down on the stool. I had already placed the canvas on the easel and laid the paints near me to use.

"Ofcourse, Your Grace." Sooyoung bows along with the other maids, while the maids leave she turns to me," Please do call me if you require any assistance."

"Will do, now please, you are well aware that I cannot paint with company." I tell her and she finally turns to leave.

Being princess definitely had perks but the constant company got abit much for me. I didn't mind Sooyoung being around but I did not wish it upon her to constantly stay by me day and night. I believed in my personal space and a set time just for me.

I took one of the paint brushes, the need to paint burning within me, but the inspiration vanishing. I hoped the moment I placed dipped the brush in paint I'd get an epiphany.

So I did just that, dipped the end of the thicker brush in a dark blue colour. I placed the brush on the canvas and then began to stroke thr brush against the canvas material.

Once I had started there was no way of stopping me, I dove into the greens and whites, painting a heavenly scenery by memory. The bushes and the lights, both within the garden and the stars that scattered the sky. A soft crescent moon 'dawning the corner of the artwork. The light from the outside starting to darken as I painted. The basic idea was finished with only afew added details to be done.

"It's truly beautiful," I nearly jumped out of my skin from the deep voice that came from the door behind me. I turn around hastily to see Prince Yeonjun leaning his tall figure against the doorframe. His eyes once again dark but swimming with amusement and mischief.

"It looks almost identical to the garden last night, how did you get such a clear image of how it looks when your face was basically buried in my brothers face?" He asked and I swallowed. He saw Soobin and I in the garden last night. He saw how close we were. Our intimate moment became a chilling thought suddenly.

"You were there?" I asked him and he scoffed, pushing himself off the doorframe and making his way to me.

"Princess, I hate to break it to you but you guys were so sneaky, making noises as you walk passed my room. You basically asked me to see it." He says, "Were you perhaps hoping I'd be jealous watching you run off with my younger brother?"

His voice was cold and piercing me with each word.

"That's what makes me laugh, Princess, because I'm not jealous," He lays his hands on my shoulders and leans down to my ear, "If anything, one of the maids could've seen you, started a lovely rumor about the new Princess in the palace who was seen galavanting with a prince, who is not her fiancé. Making you look easy and like a cheater and making me seem weak and unworthy."

"So what are you trying to say?" I ask him and he takes a deep breath.

"I'm trying to say that I hate looking weak and unworthy." He whispers this time,"understood?"

I nod my head and I could basically feel his menacing grin.

"Good."

That's all he said before leaving the room and making me once again debate whether this marriage was even worth ending wars.
