Chill Pill
Author's note: Before we continue, let's meet a new protagonist, shall we?
KNOCK KNOCK.
A pounding at the door led Kyla to hasten her steps. Only a few moments prior, Mira, the servant girl, had been hesitant on letting her mistress open the door at this hour, but she would rather take her chances with her ice magic than let an innocent human be at risk in this god-forsaken weather.
Judging by the sharp knocks, whatever lay outside those wooden doors was not to be messed with and that deeply troubled her.
Pausing right before the entrance, she gathered herself, took the icy grey cloak from the foyer and warily eyed Alf, who had been at her side all this time, to stay back. If a fight be what the stranger wanted, then it was best he keeps hidden until he could subdue the creature outside.
With a grand flourish, she summoned the icy winds at her command and let them push the heavy doors wide open just to find a sniveling little girl on the other side.
Definitely not the sight she expected.
Regardless, she at least owed the presumably human female some amount of courtesy, so she did what in her mind she viewed as most decent in this situation.
"What do you want?", she snarled as her maidservant behind her, Mira, dropped her jaw, dumbstruck at the Ice Queen's latest action.
"Umm...is there a Lady of Ice here, perchance?", the girl asked with a hint of nervousness in her voice.
"Yes", the so-called Lady of Ice answered unenthusiastically.
"My name is Gerda...and I...", the strange girl started before standing up and saying, "no, I need to see the Ice Queen."
The Ice Queen responded with, "Oh do you? And pray, tell me why should I care?"
Before Gerda could even come up with an answer, Ms. Kyla Blom shut the door with tremendous force.
Needless-to-say, Alf was not amused.
"How could you do that to that poor girl? Leave her alone in the cold? At night of all times!"
"It's always cold in Sweden, and why should I care what time of the day it is," she replied back.
"Well yes, but does human decency not apply to you, Ice Queen?"
"I never claimed to have higher morals than anyone."
"SAYS the same person who, and let me think for a minute, oh yes I know, just told me a story of how she wandered in the cold at night AND HAD NO ONE TO SAVE HER FROM IT! Do you not think you are being a tiny...no, a little bit hypocritical right now?"
"No."
Alf sighed and continued, "Would you at least please listen to what she has to say first before leaving her out there all alone by herself?"
"No."
Her head servant threw up his arms in the air, rubbed his forehead and muttered, "That's it. I'm going crazy here with her. Why do I even..."
"Fine," she snapped.
"Mira!", she ordered, "Bring the wench here and serve here some sustenance lest she die of the frost before telling us her name."
"Yes, milady," she answered, curtsying before slipping away.
When at last the poor miserable creature lay before the foyer, she gaped in awe at her surroundings and thanked the servant girl for her meal.
Before the Lady of Ice could harass her further, Alf asked, "Pray, do tell us wherefore the state for your current state, and how we may be of assistance."
Kyla opened her mouth to remind her to keep her story to a minimum but was interrupted by a passive-aggressive grunt.
She would pay Alf back later.
"My name is Gerda. I was born here in Sweden and..."
"NO! no! What brought you here hence? We do not have all night to languish hearing your tale of woe."
"My Lady!", Alf barked.
She clicked her tongue at his impertinence, but this time, let the maiden continue with her story.
"Hmm...where do I start? Oh, I know..."
Swirls of ice gathered around the young maiden as she began her aforementioned tale of woe.
"A long time from now..."

The lights dimmed out as Kai ended the night with a banger from 2012 and got the audience on their feet as Gerda kept dancing til the song finished.
Not everyone could say they partied every night for free because their boyfriend was the DJ.
"You did it again, Kai! I just want to know how you managed to make a perfect night happen every night you turn tables?"
"Well...i would think my beautiful girlfriend would know that i have quite a collection of classics but goodie songs I like to sprinkle in for funsies."
"So like you to nonchalantly brag about your ability as a DJ," Gerda mocks.
"Turntablist," Kai said, glaring at her mistake with a mischievous look in his eyes.
Gerda chuckled and slapped his arm lightly, "Ah, you're so cute when you're correcting me, Kai."
Knowing the jig is up, Kai grins and stops feigning anger. He could never be upset with his girlfriend, after-all he's been in love with her since the very first day he met her.
And nothing could ever change that.
