On and Off. On and Off. On and Off. #1

Idea #1: as it *blick*.

Start: 1:30 - 30/08/2023

End: ... - 30/08/2023

Direction: To self, of repetitiveness, to the point of great annoyance.

Recommendation: Scold down *slowly*, for better immersion.

In old Chinese, there were a particularly special form of torture, leaning on a repetitiveness of something mundane. Droplets of water, from a container to a prisoner's forehead, often chained or binded in one place.

*Blick* it started  with single drops

*Blick*... *Blick*... *Blick*...

It will appear to be nothing, at first. Chained and restrained, but nevertheless quite relaxing.

*Blick*... *Blick".........

*Blick*............. *Blick*... *Blick*... *Blick*... *Blick*

"It will ends before ya know it."

...... *Blick*... *Blick*... *Blick*... *Blick*...

"Might take a quick a nap for two."

.. *Blick* .... *Blick* ...... *Blick* ...

"It is only water, at least it is not drops of poison like Loki's punishment for Baldur's death in Norse Mythology. It would be infinitely worse than this."

.... *Blick* ..... *Blick* ..

.... *Blick* ... *Blick* ....... *Blick* ..... *Blick* ...

Cold. Irregular.

*Blick* ....... *Blick* ... *Blick* .........

Droplets after Droplets.

*Blick* .. *Blick* .. *Blick* .......

Cannot move. Cannot predict when it comes. *Blick*... Too erratic to get used to.  Can't sleep

*Blick*

3 seconds of nothingness

Quiet, yet deafening.

3 seconds seem like an eternity, waiting anxiously for the next droplet of cold water.

*BLICK*

*stop holding breath*

Human mentality is resilient, but not unbreakable. Great annoyance comes from unpredictable but repetitive things. A cat keep scatching your leg from times to times, a classmate clicking their pen 3 times everytime he is stuck on a math test, those piercing "s" sounds from podcasts with low quatily,... it build up in time, in great number, from any source.

Distractions. Repeating. Appearing whenever it pleases. Demand your precious attention.

When will the next droplet come? Will it ever come? What is it waiting for?

*blick*

Is that it?

*blickblick*     *blick*

Can you hear it too?

Predictability is the key. On and Off. On and Off. On and Off.

Routine is the way. On and Off. On and Off. On and Off.

*blick* is the stray. On and On and On. and On. and On and On.  and
