Ma Phoney Varos

Weclome to 'From Words on Paper', where we get to know some of our favorite authors, and learn more from them beside what they create for the fandom.

Tonight on the show, we're joined by MaPhoneyVaros. A writer who writes multiple interesting stories at once. Like 'Smoling Rose', 'The Psycho of Remnant' and his recent story 'I Still... Love You All'. And we're glad that he could join us here, tonight.

Artomix: First off, thank you for participation on 'From Words on Paper'. I'm glad you can join us today/tonight.

Phoney: Thank you very much for letting me be here.

Artomix: I want you to know that you're not forced to answer a question if you don't want to, and you're free to ask me anything as well.

Phoney: Ok.

Artomix: The question that I usually like to start off is, who are you? So why don't you tell a bit about yourself?

Phoney: Ok then. I'm Phoney. Or as people see me on Wattpad is MaPhoneyVaross. But Phoney is good. I'm a Wattpad author. I've written stories such as: Skin So Cold, Many abused stories of RWBY, and I just released a new story called 'I still love you all'....

Artomix: Glad to hear that you still continue to write different stories.

Phoney: I do. But for now, I'm taking a small hiatus. Reasons why are: School and...I have no idea what to write in my next chapters, haha.

Artomix: If I may suggest something, try to work on one story for a while, or until you're finished with it. It usually easier to write that way than multiple stories at once.

Phoney: I know but my brain has so many things to make as a story I just write and write and write haha...but yes I should work on 1 story at a time. Helps the brain not stress. Heh.

Artomix: Anyway, the next question is about your artistic name, what does it mean? Or what does it mean to you?

Phoney: The name: MaPhoneyVaross and Phoney?

Artomix: Any of them. Does it mean something special to you?

Phoney: Well...hehe...okay so I'm gonna get a little personal but nothing to major. I gone through a phase of watching a show.

My Little Pony Friendship is Magic.

And I would watch it on Netflix all the time when I was bored and thought "Hey...let's make a dumb name since I'm a weird 13-14 year old".... That's how the name: MaPhoneyVaross and Phoney was made. I made it my name for everything. Heh...

Artomix: I'm not one to judge Bronies. I'm one, or... was one? I really haven't seen that show in ages. But like I said, I don't judge.

Phoney: Thank you. Hehe.

Artomix: The next question I got is how did you discover RWBY?

Phoney: I Discovered RWBY on Rwby chibi then I watched the actual show and I was HOOKED! Haha. I love the show. I have made...lots of OCs I haven't shown to my reader's or in my story's.

Artomix: Hehe. I actually learned about it from Wattpad. From there, I started to look what it was and though, 'I have nothing else to do so why not'. From then on, I just loved the series.

Phoney: Same here.

Artomix: The next question I go is... Have you ever written something before RWBY? If so, what was it about?

Phoney: Uhm...no I really haven't done a story before Rwby...but...nah nothing really. I just watched rwby then found the fanfics and then you can see how that's going for me, haha.

Artomix: Alright. I have one more question before we start the more 'author related' questions. Do you have a favorite author or favorite story?

Phoney: Oh boy where do I begin...hmm...by biggest inspiration was from my friend and favorite author Darkstarkid98

Artomix: Alright. One of the few who actually responded to that question. And you're friends with that author? He/she is a great author.

Phoney: They are. They made the story called 'Withered Rose'. And they're my best friend on discord.

Artomix: That's awesome. He made the first 'abused and neglected' story I read and it's still amazing.

Anyway, the next question I got is, what inspired you to write fanfics?

Phoney: Well....that's hard...I just wanted to try something new and make my imagination run wild, so to speak. Haha.

Artomix: That's really how I started writting, really. Had to release all that imagination some way.

Phoney: Same thing. At first I sucked with a dumb OC team I made which I remade now.

Artomix: I started with an original story entirely. Took me a year to finish.

Phoney: Really?

Artomix: Yes, I still have it on DeviantArt. It's called 'The Dark Side of the Light'. And I can say for sure that my writting skill really have improved over the time. If you're interested, I could pass you a link after we're done.

Anyway, the next question I got is, What inspired you to write fanfics?

Phoney: Sure. Now I have a question...

Artomix: Alright

Phoney: What kind of OCs do you have?

Artomix: I have all kinds, really. Like all the characters from 'The Dark Side of the Light', that I'm going to leave out for now, then there's two characters that I made based from an old game called 'NiGHTS into Dreams' called Altair and Zodiac. I got a picture of them somewhere in my DeviantArt Account.

Phoney: M'kay.

Artomix: And then there's my main one, Artomix Creator. He's been with me since I was... 6 years old, but I came up with his name about five years ago. He's essentially my imagination personified. And I do have a chibi version of Altair, Zodiac and Artomix that I made a long time ago.

Phoney: That's good. Well...I have made countless OCs actually...

Artomix:  Do you wish to talk about some of your personal ones or do you wish to continue with the intervies?

Phoney: I wish to talk about my well let's see...hmm...about 4 good OCs

Artomix: Go ahead.

Phoney: I first have Nathan who is basically Krieg from Borderlands 2. Crazed from being tortured by Salem and becoming Salem's, basically, hound dog.

Next is Rook Siddharth. Basically...his ancestors are hunters from bloodborne.

*I never played nor watched any of the games. So, just smile and wave boys. Just smile and wave*

Artomix: Alright... I never played either of the two games. But please, continue.

Phoney: Oh. Well if your interested just watch game play. Now next one I kinda like him still needs work. His name is Syn. Short for Synaptic. He's a robot OC I made.

Artomix: Alright.

Phoney: Yeah...and last is or course Sam Sulfur.

Artomix: No clue who he is...

Phoney: The main character in my first Abused story.

Artomix: Wait, was that the one of 'Skin So cold'?

Phoney: James Branwen.

Artomix: Dangit.

Phoney: Why?

Artomix: Never mind. It has been a while since I read that story. Anyway, the next question I have is... Have you ever collaborated with another author on a story? If so, what was it like?

Phoney: I have done collabs with some other friends.

Artomix: How was it?

Phoney: It was fun. It's good to help out my friends to help out my buds with their stories.

Artomix: Alright, the next question on the list is, do you ask about opinions about your story? If so, what are their responds?

Phoney: Yes I do ask for opinions. So that way I can learn and make my story better in some way.

Artomix: That's always important. Understanding what you can improve and what not.

Phoney: Yes it is.

Artomix: The next question might be a weird one. What is your preferred writing program?

Phoney: I always use Wattpad. Hehe

Artomix: I'm really am the only one who uses a different program! I know that I'm weird but not that weird!Sorry had to get that out of my chest.

Phoney: Haha it's okay

And we're halfway through the questionaire, so that means a little musical break. You're listening to 'My Demons' by Starset, acoustic cover by Kevin Staudt.

https://youtu.be/JztTvmaLcMs

Artomix: The next question I got is, do you try more to be original or to deliver to readers what they want?

Phoney: Yes I do haha...

Artomix: Which of the two?

Phoney: I deliver what I find original and try to be more original. Like for "Skin so Cold" I saw someone say they never seen a story do this before

Artomix: That is true. Even I haven't seen a story like that. And that is what I usually like to see. Stories that are different and unique and not the same song and dance.

We're almost done with the 'author related' questions. The next questions is, how did publishing your first book change your process of writing?

Phoney: Well I started to mature and make new ideas for the story and then think more outside the box as they say.

Artomix: The next question was, what kind of research do you do, and how long do you spend researching before beginning a book?

Phoney: I spend a little bit of time to make the research and bio(s).

Artomix: I usually skip the bios. I like to surprise the readers and it usually gives more fredom.

Phoney: Same. But now I'm learning to do that now haha.

Artomix: At least it's a start. Everyone has to start somewhere.

Phoney: Exactly. And I must say this to people who haven't made a story yet. If you feel like you're ready for making a story then do it. You have all the ideas in the world to think of. And limits? Your Imagination is the limit. So keep writing to your heart's content.

Artomix: Exactly, and it's a great outlet.

Phoney: Yes it is.

Artomix: We're almost done with the author related questions. The next question on the list is, how many hours a day do you write?

Phoney: Well before I would go for a few hours, haha.

Artomix: It usually differs for writer to writer

Phoney: Yes it is, hehe.

Artomix: The last question for the 'author related' question is, What is the most difficult part of your artistic process?

Phoney: Like what exactly?

Artomix: What do you struggle to write with?

Phoney: h well ideas on how the characters in the story react and behave at times.

Artomix: I tend to role-play with myself as the characters. That helps me quite a bit with the writing process.

Phoney: True and speaking of Role Play I do a lot of role-playing with friends on private servers about Rwby.

Artomix: Alright, each their own. Now, we can relax a bit. We're almost done with my list.

The next question I have is, what's your favorite under-appreciated novel?

Phoney: My favorite underappreciated novel?...hmm...possibly The Outsiders.

Artomix: Alright. What is your thoughts of the RWBY community?

Phoney: They're okay...I haven't seen much of the community online just because sometimes they're spoilers...

Artomix: That's understandable. In all honestly, I don't know much about the community either. I just stick to stories and the series. And the amazing art work.

Phoney: Same. Because then there's the people who make drama, no offense to others.

Artomix: Do you have any tips for the rest of the public?

Phoney: Not right now no. But I do want to know if others do role-playing as well heh.

Artomix: There are people out there. That's for sure. Anyway, do you have any questions for me?

Phoney: Hmm...got any other stories you wish for me to help out with.

Artomix: I can always give a try an help. Just ask and I'll try my best.

Phoney: Ok. And also is there any of your stories you want help with just ask. Haha.

Artomix: Alright. I'll keep that in mind. Any last words before this is over?

Phoney: Yes I do have some last words...puts on Cayde's voice....How's your sister?...haha.

Artomix: Hahaha. That's one way to finish it. It's been a pleasure to have you here, Phoney.

Phoney: Thank you for having me here.
