immortalpheinx

Welkome to 'From Words on Paper', where we get to know some of our favorite authors, and learn more from them beside what they create for the fandom.

Tonight on the show, we are joined by immortalpheinx, someone who recently came back from a long break from Wattpad. He has done a couple of interesting stories, such as 'Darkness Rose' and 'The Time Between The Universe'. He has also done some... 'interesting' ways to publish his stories in the past. And now that he's going to be returning from his break, I hope that you all welcome him back, tonight.

Artomix: First off, thank you for participation on 'From Words on Paper'.

Jake: No problem I'm happy to be here.

Artomix: I want you to know that you're not forced to answer any of the questions if you don't want to, and if you do have any questions for me, then ask them, alright?

Jake: Alright

Artomix: The first question that I always ask to everyone is, who are you? So please, tell us a bit about yourself.

Jake: Well long story short I'm a person who always loved to read I found it interesting to read even as a kid when I 5 and 6 years old and I've been reading since so over the time I ended reading and reading but i never liked writing in school until i started writing for myself and well i didn't expect much from it as it was a person project from boredom so when i found wattpad here I decided to post it and it got popular to my surprise so I spent a lot of time working with others as I preferred to help people rather than focus on myself so I do tend to work better with people but in short I'm just a person here to help and have fun.

Artomix: That's quite an interesting story how you came around and star writting.Anyway, the next question I got is about your artistic name, what does it mean?

Jake: You mean Jake Rizer or Immortal Phoenix?

Artomix: Immortal Phoenix, since that's your Wattpad name, but if you wish to explain both, that's fine.

Jake: Well I've always had a love for Phoenix's when that fact that they cant die I believe they are immortal and as i believe in reincarnation i believe by soul we are immortal just like a Phoenix and as for Jake Rizer it's just the name I've come to go by as Jake so might well be a person as Jake Rizer than my irl name.

Artomix: That's interesting. Names can be special to us artists, so it's always interesting to know how they come up with theirs.

Jake: Exactly.

Artomix: The next question I got is, how did you discover RWBY?

Jake: Well rwby was through a youtuber who did reaction videos and that's honestly how I learned about before getting into it two years after it was made or less hard to remember and I instantly fell in love with the characters themselves

So as interest I remember reading your rwby story so what was that made you use a Nephelim?

Artomix: I wanted to create a special character for Harmonic Heart. Someone that wasn't exactly human, but had the appearence of one. And I had already decided that the character's parents would be gods, both rulers from Heaven and Hell. I did a little bit of research for a combination of an angel and demon. That's how it came to be, although I may have accidentally changed the last name for that character multiple times.

Jake: Yeah. Interesting.

Artomix: Anyway, the next question I got is... Have you ever written something before RWBY? If so, was it about?

Jake: Yes....I have and i find it somewhat cringey but that's all of my writing i guess but people seem to like it and it's a charisk x reader story since I didn't seem to see many of those at time I wrote it now there's probably more of them

Artomix: Alright, I got one more question before we start the more 'author related' questions. Do you have a favorite author or favorite story?

Jake: Yes and no. I do love many many authors so I can't say I have a true favorite especially out of the hundreds of stories I read but I do like to the first two I read and still like for there story and authors.

It's a hard question honestly. Because there are so many new and old authors that are amazing

Artomix: A lot of people don't give a straight answer to that one, so don't worry about it.

Jake: Yeah I know but I do encourage for people if they have an idea to try it out cause you never know who might like it

Artomix: Okay, now we start the more 'serious' questions. What inspired you to write fanfics?

Jake: Honestly again one of the authors I said earlier it was there story that when I wrote mine was because I kinda wanted to something like that one so yeah and as for my new story I had some ideas I wanted to do but didn't know how and because of other stories it shows me where I would like to take things.

But mainly the author Kiramira and the first story I found from her is what inspired me to write.

Artomix: Alright, that's an interesting story. The next question on the list is, how do you get inspired to write your stories or where do you get your ideas for stories?

Jake: Honestly I normally am just doing something or thinking about what could work and something will pop in my head

Artomix: That's simple enough, although that happens to most of us authors.

Jake: Yeah I tend to have trouble if I try to think ahead and plan it out but that works from time to time.

Artomix: Alright. The next question I got is, have you ever colaborated with another author on a story? If so, what was it like?

Jake: Yes I have and it's currently going on and its.....interesting at the least

But I have Also helped a couple of authors by giving ideas to them for their stories

Artomix: So you've been on both sides of colaboration

Jake: Yes

Artomix: Alright. The next question I got might be a weird one, what is your prefered writing program?

Jake: Here on wattpad

Artomix: Alright, it's official. I'm the only one who uses an external program from Wattpad. (-_-)

Jake: Well, I've been planning on writing on deviant art soon. As I still read from there.

Artomix: Really? Well, I wish you the best of luck when the time comes

Jake: Thank you also if I'm correct you use deviant art as well correct?

Artomix: That's true. TheCreator7777. That is where I started.

Jake: Yes so do you have any stories exclusive to deviant art and not on wattpad?

Artomix: A couple, yeah. Like my first story that I ever written, called 'The Dark Side of the Light'.

Jake: Interesting

Artomix: Anyway, the next question I got is, do you ask about opinions about your story? If so, what are their responds?

Jake: Yes I do because I believe yes I am the author but I want to hear any criticism so I can learn on what I can improve on to make me a better writer and more fun for the readers to enjoy.

So far there have only been nice comments except the please stop with author notes and continue the story but yes I am planning on stopping and continuing my stories. But I'm always open to any criticism or opinions.

Artomix: Alright. Do you wish to take a break? We're about halfway thorugh the list I got.

Jake: If you'd like I'm free so we can continue or take a break up to you

Artomix: We can continue if you like

Jake: Yeah

Although that will continue in a bit. For now, here's a break. You're listening to, 'Hypnotized' by Set It Off.

https://youtu.be/uK_NQo70HBA

Artomix: Alright, the next question I got is, do you try more to be original or to deliver to readers what they want?

Jake: It's a mix of both. I try be original but if I'll stay original but if I feel like the readers dont like it I'll do something else original that will work. Cause after I write a read it from a readers perspective.

Artomix: Alright, that's an interesting responds.

What usually like to do for stories is that I put up a strawpoll for the readers, so that they can choose what story they wish to read next.

Jake: Yeah and I like that but I dont think that I have enough of a following to have people vote cause it would be liken 3 4 maybe 6 people of all the people who read me would vote from what i can tell.

Artomix: I don't really care if people vote stories or not. But I do think you should at least give it a try at least once.

Jake: Yeah I've been thinking about doing it once I catchup with my other two stories first before I make a new story

Artomix: Alright. Back to the questions, how did publishing your first book change your process of writing?

Jake: Not much. It was actually me because I didn't like the way I originally wrote it so kinda rewrote it in the way that I liked and suited me.

Artomix: At least you learn from it.

Jake: Yeah. That's very important.

Artomix: Of course. Anyway, the next question I got is... What kind of research do you do, and how long do you spend researching before beginning a book?

Jake: Actually I don't research much because I remember things easily so I can just remember details so I work my story into the details making small changes and bigger changes to suit what entertains me and what I feel like would entertain my readers because we all can't just do the exact same thing or our readers would become numb to it seeing the same thing over and over dont you think?

Artomix: Yeah, I can agree with that. Like all the 'Abused and Neglected' stories. A lot of them are really similar to one another. Sure there are a couple that stands out, but those are usually hard to find.

Jake: Yeah

Artomix: We're almost done with the 'author related' questions. Do you have any questions about how I do my work or something like that?

Jake:  Yes but more so your opinions.

Like do you think theres a line for how far you can go between romance and action and story without one or two being less important and having them all in equal amounts?

Artomix: Personally, I wish to try and have an equal amount of both, but that can be quite hard at time. A good example would be the story that I recently finished, 'True Colors'. There's more action there than there is romance.

Jake: Yeah. And what about story would you put action or Romance over the story or is the story more important than adding action and romance.

And I mean story as in the main storyline not the book itself

Artomix: In my opinion, I thing the story is more important. But you can always add those two categories along the way. That's the beauty of writing, you can do whatever you want.

Jake: Very true

Artomix: Alright. The next question I got is... How many hours a day do you write?

Jake: Well not much because most of the time I'm thinking of ideas and much of writing them down so I read to see if anything will inspire me with my own ideas.

If I had more ideas I'd probably be writing 13 hours a day.

Artomix: Each their own way, I tend to multitask when I write.

Jake: Oddly enough most of my ideas come when I help other people write their stories. So it doesn't conclude to my story

Artomix: Hmm... I can more or less uderstand why that happens, because while you're helping with said author, your mind is a lot calmer and can thing a lot more freely.

Jake: Exactly.

If I may have you ever thought of what would happen if your character became to overpowered? And have you ever thought of anyways to nullify that?

Artomix: Well, I do try to keep that in mind, and try my best to balance it. I guess a good example is the main character of 'Harmonic Heart'. He has essentially a wild card weapon, and he's a god. But he was cheated and 'killed' multiple times throughout the story.

And eventually, accepted his role as a true god.

Jake: Exactly. But what if there was a point those powers would have be nullified would you have thought anything for that?

Artomix: Who knows. My imagination can go all sort of ways for that.

Jake: Alright.

Artomix:The last question I got for the 'author related' question is... What is the most difficult part of your artistic process?

Jake: Hmmm probably the ideas when you do it the next day because your not in the same mindset as the day before so it's hard when you have a role but have to continue later that's why I read the previous chapter or chapters before I right the next one.

Artomix: I usually write it down

Jake: Its not the ideas with that problem its having the mindset.

Artomix: Alright, I get ya.

Jake: Yeah.

Artomix: Anyway, wer'e almost done with the list, so we can relax a little bit.

Jake: Ok. Good to know, I do enjoy this.

Artomix: Alright, the next question I have is, what's your favorite under-appreciated novel?

Jake:  Hmmm. Hard to say when theres a couple. I cant really have favorites when I love so much.

Artomix: You can say more than one if you wish.

Jake: Well I just got back from a break so it's hard to say which ones are appreciated.

Artomix: That's understanable.

Jake: Yeah.

Artomix: I guess we can go to the next question. What is your thoughts of the RWBY community?

Jake:  Amazing. Of course it has its flaws as does every community

Artomix: That's normal, yeah.

Do you have any tips for the rest of the public?

Jake: Yes if you have an idea go with it and dont do it just to he popular but do it to enjoy it.

And enjoy what you do even if people try to put you down

Artomix: I know what you mean. A good example for me is my first rwby story, 'Broken and Silent Gems'. I just did it for fun and so that the rest of the comunity has something different to read. It was never my intention to be popular.

Jake: Exactly. So do what you think will work and you'll always have some supporters some who try to put you down but keep going

Artomix: Personally, I try to be original with my stories or at least give the more better know genres a new twist to them. But in all the time I was writing, I never had people who tried to put me down. But if there was, I would've probably ignored them.

I mean, you have a choice to read the story. If you like it, good. If you don't like it, why continue reading it?

Jake: Exactly but sometimes people are there just to criticize.

Artomix: There isn't a need for harsh words to others while they write their stories for others to enjoy it. And for free, might I add.

And that's true, being criticized should be seen as something constructive, and not something negative.

Jake: Exactly what I mean

Artomix: Do you have more questions for me?

Jake: Not really not now at least maybe one day we can do another interview sooner or later?

Artomix: I'm always open for another interview, but... I think that I would need another questionair list... And that can be quite hard to make for a repeated guest. Not that I'm opposed to that.

Jake:  Yeah well thank you very much for having me

Artomix: Do you have any last words to the public who will be reading this?

Jake: If I may give another author I recommend?

He doesn't write anymore hes thinking about writing soon but I loved his story

Artomix: I do have someone in line for saturday, but sure, go ahead.

Jake: Not for an interview but to read. KazukiTorchwick. He's the other person I first read

Artomix: Alright, I'll try find him/her and read their stories.

Jake:  Yeah again thank you for having me here I had fun

Artomix: I'm glad that you enjoyed it. I'm always open for a chat if you wish.

Jake: Of course so am I. Thank you

Artomix: No problem, I hope that you'll have a good day/nigh
