Epilogue
It's been six long months since Hart passed on. Her body buried out near the cliff. Adorned with a simple cross as a headstone. With her name and rank, along with her birth and the day she officially died. Then it's topped with an Autobot symbol. One engraved by the golden twin himself. The team has since kept themselves busy, wrangling up any leftover cons. Ones that were planted all over the world by Megatron.
It's early morning and training is beginning. Sunstreaker started helping Ironhide and Sideswipe with weapon skills a few weeks after Hart's death. It took time for things to go back to normal. Even then, Hart's legacy remains a topic of conversation. As Sunstreaker practices with soldiers, just as he is about to take one out, he freezes. A new recruit has walked into the hangar. Her blonde hair tied up in a tight bun. Her deep blue hooded eyes match that of his best friend. Same height and build. The only thing she is missing is the crooked nose. He zooms in on her chest, looking for her name tag.
"Hart?" He mutters out. Confused on if she is real or not.
"Sunstreaker? Who you look..." Sideswipe freezes as he spots who his brother is looking at.
"That can't be her." Sunstreaker's voice weavers, but his optics never leave the clone.
Major Lennox is walking with her. Many soldiers and Autobots have stopped what they are doing to stare at her. The twins slowly start gliding over to them. Still unsure of what they are seeing. Lennox notices them right away and tells her to stay here while he goes to talk to them. Sunstreaker almost rolls over him, but Sideswipe is able to stop him in time.
"Sunstreaker. Sideswipe. I know what you are thinking, but I'm sorry to say it is not Ghost. It's her sister." Lennox uses Hart's callsign. One most have started using after her demise.
"Does she know?" Sideswipe asks. Unsure of how to react, his twin is at a loss.
"Yes, once I got word she was being transferred here, we made the decision to tell her. Especially with how close you two were to Ghost. I ask that you two please give her space. Don't hound her yet," Lennox explains.
"She looks just like her." Sunstreaker mutters under his breath, rolling forward slowly.
"I'll introduce you two to her, but please let her settle in first." The twins have their optics locked on the new Hart, barely registering the Major's words. "Sunstreaker! Sideswipe! That's an order."
Both glance at Lennox and nod.
"Hart. There are two Autobots I would like you to meet." Lennox ushers the sister to come forward. "Hart, this is Sideswipe and Sunstreaker. They are the twins I was telling you about who were close to your sister before she passed."
"Good morning. It's a pleasure to meet you." She gives a small wave, then puts her hands behind her back.
"It's good to meet you, too. Hart didn't like to talk about her family. You look just like her." Sideswipe's optics twinkle looking at Hart's replica.
"That doesn't surprise me. Our parents and her didn't get along. I never understood why until she left. It still took me a while to leave. I've been trying to find her ever since. Unfortunately, I seem to have missed her." She says with a sad tone in her voice, glancing at the portrait hung on the wall of her late sister.
"She said you all hated her. That she was outcasted! She has felt nothing but alone and you thought you could just come back into her life. Like nothing happened? Who do you think you are?" Sunstreaker finally pulls himself from his daze. Now angry and fuming.
"Sunstreaker! That's enough." Lennox warns, stepping between the two.
"It's okay, sir. He has every right to be mad. I couldn't believe the things I let my parents do to her and I regret them every day. But I have been trying for 3 years to find her and make it right." Hart's sister says calmly.
"What gives you the right?" Sunstreaker sneered, kneeling down to her level. Trying to intimidate her, but she's a stone wall. Just like her sister.
"As her twin, I have every right."
