“Sh•t, CELLO! Get the disinfectant solution for hydrofluoric acid quick!”

“Medical Department, please dispatch five mobile stretchers to the underground entrance and vacate five wards as soon as possible. Again, Medical Department, please dispatch five mobile stretchers to the underground entrance and vacate five wards as soon as possible.”

Codes VIYEL and VIOLA assist the 8th Squad on the ambush at Kiyoko Street!”

“Halt,” the two security guards said in unison to which the 23 year-old Shiota Nagisa sent a blank look. “Only authorized personnel can enter Hades. Please refrain from stepping further.”

“You must be mistaken. I was told to send my application personally in this office. I have a scheduled appointment with Karasuma Tadaomi-sensei,” the bluenette stated in disbelief. She could not believe Karasuma-sensei’s secretary forgot to notify her teacher about her arrival. For all she know, she could wait in this building all day and not see a glimpse of his shadow. How incompetent.

“This is for precautions, Miss. We cannot let you in without Karasuma-dono’s approval—”

“But you can with my approval, right boys?” A golden blonde woman in her thirties said with slight seduction in her voice to which Nagisa rolled her eyes.

Knowing that aside from being the Chief of Staff’s wife and right hand, Jelavic Irina is also one of the notorious assassins of all time, the guards tensed at stood upright.

“Y-Yes ma'am!” the guards blushed and stuttered when Irina sent a flirtatious wink which made the bluenette grimace. Well what do you know, old habits do die hard.

As they entered Hades, the blonde suddenly attacked Nagisa with a swiss knife which should have scraped her cheek if not for her fast reflexes.

“So, is this an initiation rite or something?” Nagisa asked as she dodged.

“Nah, I just want to see if the Assassination Classroom’s number one assassin’s skills haven’t rusted away,” Irina simpered and smirked, throwing the knife and taking out her pistol.

The former flipped in the air, avoiding the bullets while thinking in awe as to how the whole office was bulletproof. “I practice-teached failure classes, Bitch-sensei. Of course my skills should be updated as well. You, on the other hand,”

Nagisa grinned deviously as she threw her hidden butterfly knife, averting her former teacher’s attention as she used the stun clapper which rendered Irina’s defeat. “Are getting old.”

Suddenly, they heard slow claps from the door behind them.

“I have no regrets getting in touch with E-Class, especially with you, Shiota Nagisa-san.” Karasuma said, helping the both of them up. “Also, you’re in.”

“What?” Irina gaped at her husband in disbelief. “She needs to spar with the rest of the assassination team before she gets in, and you know that.”

“I am the Chief of Staff, am I not?” Karasuma challenged, a sly smirk pasted on his lips. But there was another thing which piqued the bluenette’s interest more.

“Sensei, you got in touch with E-Class?”

Ministry of Defense;
Underground Training Field;

The trainees are now paired up, having notified of their superiors’ arrival. A handful of them have just been recruited, while others are on the waiting list of the possible candidates for the assassination team. But one thing is certain, they must impress whoever comes in of that door.

“Ne, Karma-kun. You should really stop slacking off,” Yuuma scolded to which the redhead just raised a brow at. “Just because you’re highly recommended doesn’t mean you stay in the list forever.”

Karma smirked at his former class representative. “I don’t plan on just staying on the list, Ikemen-kun. But I can’t stop slacking if it means wasting my skills on a purposeless training.”

“Well I’m sorry if all this is ‘purposeless’ Akabane,” they heard the superior speak with sarcasm laced on his voice.

The rest of the people straightened their stances to greet Karasuma but some, like his former students, sighed at the small banter. It was too much of a coincidence really. How their common target brought them together, torn them apart with his death, then reunited them again. The damned Korosensei.

However, Karasuma was not alone.

Anyhow, tomorrow the assassination unit will officially function because today, Irina and I will be presenting the final members.”

Karma grinned while muttering ‘Finally!’ to himself, as his fellow trainees stiffened due to the tension.

“Isogai Yuuma, Kataoka Megu, Yukimura Akari, Sugino Tomohito, Okuda Manami, Horibe Itona, Ritsu, Nakamura Rio, Hayami Rinka, Chiba Ryuunosuke, Asano Gakushuu, Akabane Karma, and,” Karasuma first savored the feeling of satisfaction before continuing. “Shiota Nagisa. These thirteen members will make up the Meijin Family: Ace Team of the Assassination Unit.”

“Wait, Nagisa-chan?!” Manami exclaimed in surprise, along with the rest of her fellow classmates.

“The one and only,” the bluenette spoke, revealing herself behind Karasuma and Irina. A second later she threw an annoyed look at the redhead who was trying to avoid her gaze. “And I do not like being left behind, Akabane Karma.”

“Uh, I’m sorry?”

7 months later ;

Ministry of Defense ;
Office Hades ;

Vice Director Tanagashi Fuji, a man of higher status than Karasuma clapped in delight, clearly impressed with the progress of the newly assembled unit.

“AZURE and CRIMSON, now these are era-defining geniuses! The ministry never had been better since you came around!”

Nagisa smiled sheepishly, her hands connected to her fiancé. “It’s not only us two, Tanagashi-dono. It’s mainly due to Karasuma-sensei, and the rest of Meijin Family.”

“Director Takezawa is very pleased with the results. So he assigned a new task for you which involves a national threat. Will you concede?”

Karasuma nodded, mirroring the same agreeing notion of the ace team.

“Great. He will send the details later and insisted that AZURE and CRIMSON shall lead the mission.”

Little did they know, envy is slowly eating the hearts of the ones in the shadows.

“So what?! You are just going to let them waste our efforts and walk over what we worked so hard for so long?!”  Yuuma protested, feigning anger.

He was more of jealous of Karma. Just Karma. And of course, Megu knew that. But she can’t possibly defy her partner, can she?

“This is ridiculous, Yuuma. They are not tossing us aside!” Rio opposed.

“You don’t know that, Rio. They are hoarding the highly paying missions to themselves, leaving us with leftovers! That’s why the Board never notice us!” Tomohito supported Yuuma’s claim.

Ritsu huffed, trying to calm herself before her artificial body overheats. “You are not thinking rationally! Can’t you see that in every mission they are risking their lives, while we always get off with minor bruises?! Don’t be blinded by your small mindedness!”

“It’s easy for you to say, Ritsu! You’re just an AI!” Akari exclaimed.

“And this AI feels more than what you think,” Itona stated coldly. “We will never speak of this, but be warned. Nagisa and Karma may not be here, but they are not idiots. Once you do something stupid, you can never reverse it.”

“A-chi-ga~ Come out, come out wherever you are~” Ameno Ichigo, their target and the national threat, said in a psychotic way, his bloody white suit adding more to the deadly vibe. “Achiga! Get out here, or your precious employees will have an instant death!”

The hostages tightly closed their eyes as the villain threatened to press the detonator on his hand. Meanwhile, Nagisa and Karma kept their cool, running over their plans, until they noticed what they lacked. Where were the rest of the team? Had they not gone to the room with them?

GREED? WRATH? Where are you?” Karma whispered, almost yelling.

‘F•ck, we’ve been double crossed! Shit, shit, shit, I knew there was something wrong when they suggested to spread out! They must have contacted Ichigo a day ago and I’m so stupid to not check with Itona and Ritsu!’

“Karma, it’s almost time. Is there something going on?”

The redhead breathed then forced a smile which made Nagisa suspicious but disregard it.

‘The bomb must be in this hall in the bag behind the woman. I’ll take care of that, but I need to get Nagisa out of here first, for her to know the truth.’

Nagi, you trust me right?”

Nagisa nodded hesitantly.

“I’m glad.” Karma smiled. “First, you must know that I love you with all my heart, alright?”

The bluenette’s brows creased in confusion, watching him gripping his knuckles as if getting ready for something. “I know, and I love you too. Why are you telling me this?”

“Second, know that Itona, Ritsu, and Asano are not involved in this, and that Rio is at the park outside.”

“I don’t understand...”

“Third,” Karma mentally and physically prepared himself before embracing her tightly. “When people start running, you must run too okay?”

One.

The redhead lent her his necklace which she received half-heartedly.

Two.

“I will see you again. So live.”

Three.

“Oh, and Nagi?” He called out, his back faced away from the bluenette before he started strutting towards the target and the bomb.

“Please don’t save me yet.”
