August POV

I felt real bad after I said that to Mya. It just slipped out. I ain't mean it. I been wanting to go over there and apologize but I know she not gon' wan hear it . so I kept my distance. It wasn't too far. Instead of the guys she was hanging with this Brian dude.

I didn't like him one bit. She was drinking something but I ain't know what. I was getting heated thinking about what he would have given her.

When this song came on she started singing with Brian and this man was getting too close. She was standing in front of him and he had his hand around her neck.

"If your chick come close to me she ain't going home where she posed to be"
The song blasted through the speakers.

They were laughing around and stuff making me miss holding her.
"She ain't never got high like this with a guy like this when she pop it tell her hold up" he looked up at me with a smirk on his face.

"Better believe she going leave with a real nigga , they can't put it down like I do.." I was already making my way through the damn crowd for him to catch these hands.

"Ayye y'all ain't together anymore man" Dennis held me back. "Girl been trying to get you to talk to her because she love you and all you keep doing is pushing her away .. What you do want man ? You wanna keep her and love her for the rest of your life or do you wanna end it for good . You can't not want her and not want her to be with someone else. Make up yuh mind and do it quick before she move on"

I dragged my hands down my face. I want her. No matter how hard life may get I want her. I want her to bear my children for the rest of my life. I want her to cuss me when I do something bad. I want her to love me all like she do now.

"I'll leave ya to think about it"

I didn't want to fight but the way he was watching me and the way he was holding my girl made me want to jump over this table and choke the living hell outta him.

I thought about everything Dennis said and he was right I need to know what I want. And I want her I want all of Mya. I wanna wake up in the morning and see her smile I want her to have my kids so that when I see them I see her I want them to have her personality.

But right now  I don't think I can bear with her being in the arms of another man specially him.

When I got my thoughts together there was this shift in the atmosphere. It was  the atmosphere that makes you shiver in fear. Something was going to go down and all I know was that Mya needed to get out. I didn't care who it was who's beef it was all I know I needed to keep My a safe. That's all I been trying to do from the jump I didn't want nothing to happen to her.

As I was heading to her side to get her from that brian  dude is when I realized who was in the building and I knew that it was going to go down who I was trying to protect Mya from was here.

I turn my head to signal dennis  he already saw what I saw.  I saw my boss heading to the back so I knew it was going to go down but tonight was not the night Mya was there and I didn't want her to get hurt. 

He came in with his whole gang, I definitely needed her to get out  rather she like me or not. I wasn't prepared for war right now. When he saw me I saw him smirk before raising his gun and aiming it at me . Thank God for crowds when the gun shot went off I ducked and ran over to Mya. Of course it was going to be hard now because everyone was running around.

I just kept my eyes on Mya because the plan was to get her out of here. Shawn must have some nerve coming into a rivals home and feeling that he'll win. When I caught up to Mya the 1 thing I've been wanting to do all night which is punch brian in the face is exactly what I did first.
"I been wanting to do that  since I first saw you"

"August!!" Mya yelled like she couldn't believe I did it.
" what ? he was in my way"  I shrugged . " feeling like he could put his hands all over you " I mumbled to myself while she tried calling him to see if he was responding but I didn't have much time. So I lift her up over my shoulder and started moving out. I bumped into my boss .

"Boss I know this my fight but I gotta get her out of her and safe " hoping he would understand.
"Its okay I understand , this our fight now since he feels he can barge in my house like he run things." I nodded "Go bring her home safe." I nodded as I continued moving through the crowd.

"Let go of me! Put me down! I can very well walk!" I rolled my eyes as she kept throwing them pillow punches in my back.
I found the back door and I ran towards the car.

I put her down so she can get in the car but she refuses to get in. " I'm not going anywhere with you" she said "Mya we ain't got time for this"I warned her.

" I don't care!" She was just about pissing me off " Mya get in the car "
"no "
"we don't have time for this !!" I yelled "our lives are at stake and you out here playing get in the damn car!!"
"I'm not driving in no car with somebody who don't want me "
"You cannot be serious!" I started throwing a damn tantrum. I didn't care I picked her up and dropped her in the seat put her seatbelt. "I double D dare you to take off this seatbelt Mya , I dare you " I said it in a warning tone. Just to scare her a bit , I was going kiss her up , she would obey me one time. She mugged me. I hopped in the driver seat and started up the car.
I drove off but some of his boys came out so they hopped in a car too and followed us.

"Oh yea and what you goin do ? hit me?" She must be crazy . I'd make her unconscious after I knock her out with one kiss.
"Mya be quiet I'm tryna concentrate"

I guess she felt offended by the way she was rolling her neck all type of ways , here we go "be quiet ?! For you to concentrate ?! You know what you need to focus on ? You need to focus on what you want !! Got me out here looking like some fool after somebody who don't even want her!!"

" I did it to protect you!! Give me some credit , I care about your well being and I'm being cussed out for it!"
" oh okay you care about my well being so that meant so had to move on to Pamela?! Now you gone and put her life in " danger" too"
" I don't give a damn about Pamela !! "
"So why you went with her ?!!!"
She was just about really pissing me off.
"Mya please." She needed to be quiet I had to focus on the road.

" Mya please what ?! I want to know !!"
"I needed you to get the message!! I knew if I didn't use her you wouldn't stay away but still you popped up, now we got these boys after us "

"So now is my fault ?!"
"I tried so hard to keep you out and away"
" I didn't know you started back selling I didn't know you had reoccurring enemy I didn't know you got evicted I didn't know not a damn thing !! All because you wouldn't tell me! So of course i would keep coming back because i love yo stupid self and i want us to work. "

"Maybe if you did we could've plan something instead of really breaking up, you could've stayed by side , instead of having me home alone crying and wondering what I did wrong or maybe if I wasn't good enough " she looked sad and of course I felt bad.

" you're right I didn't think this through "
" exactly " she mumbled ."I should've come to you first I never wanted to break up that was just the first idea that came to mind. I'm sorry for putting you through hell Mya." These guys where still behind us , I was driving as fast as I could . I believe now was the time to take short cuts . I could hear the police far far behind.

"I scrolled through our pictures every single day"
"Uhuhmm I would smell your bra whenever i get the chance and dream about you in Victoria's secret " She furrowed her eyebrows until her mouth popped open. By now I had lost them. So I was relaxed.

" no , you didn't ?! August!!" She started hitting me playfully. It was true I only said it to lighten up the mood.
"I'm just joking" Lies. "But the dream part was true , i really did dream about you in Vickie secrets, on our honeymoon -"
"Oh my Gosh August enough"

" walking around all fine in heels "  I turned to look at her "look at you blushing" I pinched her cheeks and she slapped my hand away "stop" she groaned . "Yuh cute self"

"So now that we good right , you going quit sellin ?"
"Mya you know I can't -"
"I know I know you need the money asap but your putting your life at risk , God forbid what happens now if you die? Who's going provide for your family? Cha the kids your mom ?"

I sighed " the check coming in too slow Mya"
"Let God help you , quit selling and get it the right way I know we all going die one day but let's not let it come sooner than it should be. I'm already offering a place to stay and food..For the time being" I don't like help from people. I always feel like I owe them afterwards.

"I'll think about it-" a gun shot cut me off. The were back and aiming at us. I went full fast and the furious mode. Mya was panicking I was too but I wasn't showing it . They shot the glass in back.

"August!!" Mya started screaming because of the gun shots. They shot my tire in the back. When One of the gun shots hit me in my shoulder and i cried out in pain my hand instantly went to the wound and off the wheel the car lost control and turn completely off the road. We hit into something all I know is everything went black.

I failed at protectin' my babeh . Dear God please let us be okay.
