He done got me messed up

"AUGUST IT IS A HALF AN HOUR PASS 10!"

"Damn ma , I'm tryna look decent"

"We ain't goin to no fancy restaurant I don't see why you gotta over do it" I rolled my eyes grabbing the keys.

"The lord said come as you are" I playfully said while still being annoyed.

"Oh okay so if I go in my boxers that'll be alright ?"  He jokes but I side eyed him.

"Don't play smart with me"

"I'm just saying , you the one that said-"

"I know what I said!" I cut him off.
He began side eyeing me like he was scared.

"Well damn , these pregnancy hormones are in effect" i playfully smacked his arm and he started the car and we took off.

When we pulled up the music was blasting loud   And I got excited I hadn't been to church in a minute and honesty I miss it . I miss the vibes.
We stepped out of the car and locked it and began walking towards the entrance of the building.
"You know I'm goin be real I'm kinda scared to go in" he stopped behind me

"Why?"

"Cause. I ain't been singing gospel. God forbid people in there know me and they attack me."

I stepped closer to him and cupped his face.
"As long as I'm your wife , anybody got a problem with you they got a problem with me and nobody and I mean nobody is squeaky clean as we speak . So let them try it. Oooooh yes lord let them try it! See if I don't pull out some skeletons out their closet"

His eyes were wide open "oh gosh okay God forgive me . Help me to show grace to those who don't understand " I did the sign of the cross and I grabbed his hand "come on baby let's go"

We stepped in and mind you this was a different church. One in Atlanta I heard it was good and I decided let's check it out.

We found a seat some where in the back and we got comfortable. Honestly we came as worship finished and I was soooo annoyed cause that's the best part of the service!

I looked at him to see him smiling at me sheepishly.
Damn child.

So the pastor was going in on the word. I look to see August smiling with some girls on the other side.

So I slapped his arm lightly . "Pay attention"

"Well ma if they keep waving at me I'm supposed to ignore em ?"

"Hell yeah , they suppose to be listening to the word anyway"

"What about the elders ?" I peep in his direction and I see them waving and some tryna be seductive.

Disgusted I frowned and I grabbed his hand . I opened my jacket and made sure my stomach was on display. So they know.

He got a whole family sis be discouraged. Be very discouraged.

"Really ma ?" He low key wanted to laugh.
"I'm yours anyway you ain't gotta do nothing so they know I'm taken if they don't know I'm going let them know aight ?" I nodded frowning . He kissed the side of my head. He placed his hand on top of my hand that was on my stomach. Internally I felt butterflies. I love this man.

He gets on my very last nerve. Makes me wanna commit murder. Like there's a lot he makes me wanna do but I still love him at the end of the day.

I didn't wanna but I peeped the girls and they looked so disappointed that most of em started paying attention. I smiled. I win.

When the service was over we walked out greeting some people on the way.

"Aight mama when we go home we goin work on this gender reveal party" I blushed I'm glad that he's participating in this and is as anxious as I am for this. He better be!

"Alright."

"Why you cheesing so hard?" He smiled his stupid grin.
I playfully pushed him and I looked at him lovingly. "I'm just so happy that your working with me on this"

"Happy you're trying your best for this family" he leaned down to peck me.

"I'm not the best man but I'm trying to be just for you and my baby" He pecked me again.

I love him I love him I love him I love him.

We reached home. To my surprise .. not . People were in my house.

"I SWEAR YALL DONT RESPECT OUR PRIVACY" I yelled

"Girl shut up. You knew that when y'all get married it was a three way thing. Y'all not excluding me"
"Us babe. You mean us" Dennis said.

"No I'm pretty sure I said it right" she corrected Dennis.
"So where were you when we making the baby?" August asked smiling like a buffoon.

"Making her own" I slipped out and then covered my mouth quickly

"Love youuu" i replied to her squinting eyes.

"And to think I brought a surprise for you" she shook her head . Me being confused "what?"

"Hey sunshine" I turned and saw my father
"Daddyyyy!" I ran to hug him.

"Hey babygirl, how come you ain't tell me you expecting ?"

"Sorry I got busy, there was so much going on and I didn't think of it. I'm only now getting myself together honestly"

He frowned playfully " make sure you do , can't stress the baby"

"I know I know"

"August, what's up man"
He hugged him "I'm doin pretty good wrapping my head around the fact that I'm going be a father but I'm good, and yourself ?"
My father shrugged. "I'm doin pretty good just happy to see y'all happy"

Glad he ain't know how much it took us to get here . His perspective definitely would be different. Hence why you don't always have to tell people your business . Some things you gotta keep to yourself and discuss it with your partner.

August side hugged me. "Yeah" he kissed the side of my head.

"Alright let's eat!" Becca yelled.
Getting up. Guess she cooked , because I know before I left I ain't do anything.

At least she just ain't just in my house being a wast of space.

"Amen!" Just then the doorbell rang.
"I got it" I turned off to go get the door.
"Mama you carrying the load I got it" he passed in front of me
"We a team right ?"
"You carry the load I do the work"

"Yes we are a team , but it doesn't have to be so drastic. I can open the door boy" I laughed a bit.
At this point we were both at the door so I opened it.

I was shocked to see who was standing there . For some strange reason I covered my stomach. Immediately August stood in front of me glaring at the person in front of us.

"What the hell you doin hea" when the Nola accent comes out think and strong he's mad mad.

"Hey guys I don't know what y'all wan-" Becca stopped mid sentence and her face too changed.
She was shook and confused.
"How the hell this psycho find this address ?"
