DARK MATTER by Blake Crouch & more

Turns out that this will be more diary orientated ... it's Friday the twenty third day of April 2021 and if you have read yesterday's post, the post preceding this one, then you will know, if you didn't know already, that the Netflix series Shadow and Bone got its release today, and I have watched the first two episodes. So far, it is exactly what I expected ... good but not great, not at all bad but it hasn't and probably will not blow me away with what is still to come.

It will be a huge hit with fans of the book/books, no doubt about that and I probably will keep watching if it gets renewed, but it won't change my life. What I actually find funny about it is a certain likeness it has in parts to the video game Street Fighter ...

Yeah, only two episodes for the day, for Shadow and Bone is not the only thing new on any given streaming service. I am a comic-book superhero fan too and Disney + put out the sixth episode of the Falcon and the Winter Soldier and if I ruin it for you, tough, I don't care as we finally see Falcon take on the Captain America Mantle. I don't have any readers, followers or visitors so no one is gonna read this anyhow ...

Anyhow, on to today's main topic ... the novel Dark Matter by Blake Crouch. This is a book which has been sitting on one of my shelves for some time while some book/s or other took my attention away from actually picking it up. As I mentioned yesterday, Dark Matter was one of the reads I had during this month and I seriously regret having left it sit lost in among the other books I own.

Having mentioned that I am a comic-book fan, the photo I added to yesterday's post only includes a few of the comics I own. There are a few hundred more of them in the room my library is in and they are located behind where I stood to take that photo. I won't be taking a photo of these comics for most of them are within a wardrobe and I won't be moving the about. I usually just take out what I want when I want it.

Back to Dark Matter. And wow, I'd easily say it is the best read I've had all year if it weren't for the fact, I also read 11/22/63 by Stephen King earlier this year ... again I am gonna get distracted ... I'm a big Stephen King fan too. I watched 11/22/63 when it had been put out as a series a few years back and that series did blow me away to the point that I do not know why I waited so long to read the book ... I'll return to commenting on Mister King at another time.

If anything deserves to become a series or a movie then it should be Dark Matter though I'd rather see it as a series more than a movie as I am sure there is so much that can be done with that story. There already is a series with that title but it has nothing to do with this book. The acknowledgements of the book state that it is set to be a movie and searching online for more information tells me that it is to become a series with Apple TV picking it up to put out possibly in 2021/22. I will seriously look forward to that.

Alternate reality ... the roads not taken ... regret and the search for the perfect decision or the return to what may be that perfect decision ... a return to true love or not knowing the difference. What a story ... right up my alley.

Dark Matter by Blake Crouch ... I apologize for not coming to you sooner ... top notch read.
