Shadowkit was stalking Flower, and once she had started to slow down a little bit, he said "Hello again," and as she turned around, he straighted,and tried to look confident. She, surprisingly, did not attack him, but instead said "Hi," a little nervously.He walked forwards, coming slightly to the side of Flower. Flower seemed even more nervous, but she looked him straight in the eye. He stopped a tail-length away from her, sat down, and prepared to spring away at any moment, in case she attacked him.

Flower said "I want to live in the woods with you," and stepped forwards. Shadowkit was stunned. Was this really what she wanted? All of a sudden, a ginger tom (It's Duskfur!) leaped out of the bushes, only two tail-lengths away from Flower, who stiffened. Instantly, Shadowkit lunged forward between him and Flower before Duskfur could even snarl. Duskfur recoiled in shock. Shadowkit could smell waves of fear-scent coming off of him, then the fear turned into anger. "What are you doing!?" Duskfur hissed at him.

Shadowkit raised his head and looked him in the eye. "Who says I have to tell you?" he asked, then turned away. "Are you okay?" he asked Flower, keeping a tail-length away from her. "Yes," Flower responded. Duskfur hissed angrily. Shadowkit turned and, quick as a snake, sliced Duskfur's nose.

Duskfur glared at Shadowkit, and ran off into the bushes. Flower looked after him, then turned back to Shadowkit. Shadowkit said "We should get going," and Flower looked at him, confusion written on her face. "To where?" she asked. "To the camp, of course." Shadowkit responded, than started leading her to the camp.

Flower followed him, and he quickened his pace. They slowed down as they were approaching the camp. Shadowkit knew that Petalfrost and Hawkstar would be looking for him soon, so he would have to sneak Flower into the nursery. Shadowkit paused. He heard something. Ever so slowly, he pushed through the bushes, and saw nothing. He beckoned to Flower to come, and she went in the nursery. Luckily, Shadowkit's siblings were fast asleep. Flower quickly hid in a corner, and Shadowkit pretended to be sleeping.

Petalfrost walked into the nursery and curled up next to her kits, drifting off to sleep. Flower fidgeted, almost waking Petalfrost. Flower held her breath as Petalfrost looked around sleepily. Petalfrost snorted, then went back to sleep. Flower sighed in relief. Shadowkit whispered to her to follow him. He headed out of the nursery and told her to wait right outside the camp.
