The teenagers prepare to fight their way out of their imprisonment. Daisy and Jensen zip up their jackets and watch as Tony closes his eyes, concentrating intensely.
Come on, help me again, Mama, he thinks. Then, seconds later, he finally begins to shift into his Phoenix form.
But just as he feels his eyes begin to burn, a crash echoes throughout the room. Tony's glowing blue eyes snap open and they search for the cause of the sudden loud noise.
"Jensen!" Daisy exclaims and drops to the ground next to him. His limbs are sprawled out and his eyes glow orange as he stares blankly up at the ceiling. Her hand goes to the back of his head. She carefully moves her legs under his head, propping him up.
When she pulls her hand back it's smeared with bright red blood. Her eyes look up to Tony. His eyes, now back to normal, catch hers in a worried stare.
Tony slowly gets down on his knees and leans over Jensen. He waves his hand over his unblinking eyes. When that doesn't prod any response, he slaps him softly across the cheek. Both of the teenagers watch as Jensen remains unmoving, his eyes still glazed over.
Daisy's eyes meet Tony's and they share a confused look. "What's happening to him?" Worry strains her voice.
"The only thing I can think of would be a vision. Lynx's can get visions of the future," he tells her hopefully, though, still sounding unsure.
Daisy sighs and looks back to the friend whose head lays in her lap. She passes her fingers over his pale forehead that's sparsely littered with brown freckles. "I hope it's something helpful."

Whispers echo in a dark, spaceless void. Then, it lightens up just enough so that it can be distinguished as a rectangular room with many people filled inside. The room contains about three dozen people, all huddled together as close as they can in the back corner. The only person not sitting is a tall man with dark, wavy hair and an impatient demeanor who paces back and forth. His bright yellow eyes stand out in the dark, guiding his feet as he travels back and forth.
Alec, Jensen realizes what he's seeing.
The room cell is just like the one Jensen shares with his two friends. Except, this room is completely void of light, except for the dim glow coming from the alpha's eyes.
A low growl erupts from Alec's throat. "Come on Jensen, I need you to see this. Where are you guys?" He grits his teeth and scuffs his boots on the concrete ground.
The vision of Alec moves out of the cell and travels away, down a dark hallway. It goes through a door and suddenly, there is light. Then, to an elevator. The number reads 8 above the shiny, steel doors. And then up.
The vision changes to the number 5 in a digital, red-lit analog font above the same elevator shaft.
When Jensen wakes up he's staring into a pair of hazel eyes. He blinks and then squints from the sudden burning in his eyes from the dryness. He tries to move, but it's like his body isn't awake yet.
The hazel eyes widen above him.
"Tony, he blinked." Daisy reaches out and pushes the shoulder of the olive-skinned boy.
Jensen uses all of his strength to move. "Agh, oh my gosh," he groans.
Tony's head whips around to find Jensen beginning to sit up. He immediately sticks out his arms and helps him sit up with the help of Daisy.
Jensen groans and reaches a hand to the back of his head. He hisses and pulls his hand away to see red staining his fingertips. Blood. His stomach turns and he begins to feel queasy.
"You fell. Suddenly," Daisy explains to him. "And your eyes were open. I tried to close them, but they burned me. It was really scary actually," she says softly.
Jensen turns to face her, his face blank as his thoughts race. "I saw Alec?" he says unsurely. He thinks back to his vision. He knew he could see him.
"What? You did? Where?" Tony immediately questions him.
Jensen turns back to face him. "It was a really dark cell, kind of like ours, only bigger. He's three floors below us. And, he knew I could see them, he said my name."
Tony's eyes light up with newfound hope. "That's great!" He exclaims, jumping up from the floor. "Let's go then," he tells them as he practically buzzes with adrenaline.
"Okay, but how did he know this would happen when none of us did?" Jensen tries to get Tony to answer his question.
"Oh," Tony says nonchalantly like it's no big deal. But, to Jensen, who knows nothing about the supernatural world, he gets annoyed for a second. "It happens sometimes for Lynx's. Alpha's can establish a connection between you guys, but it drains them, like a lot. So, probably, he won't be able to shift for at least a week."
Jensen nods. "Well okay then," he says and tries to stand up. Daisy comes to aid quickly and helps him get up without falling over.
Jensen groans as he stretches out his limbs. His hands find his back as the feeling of the concrete floor still remains in his muscles and nerves. "Well, we're waiting for you, pasta boy." He glances at Tony.
Tony smiles at the mention of his nickname Jensen gave him about a week ago. Tony readies himself for the second time and closes his eyes. Soon, like before, a bird appears under his clothes. Its wings flap as it struggles to get out of the clothing trap.
Daisy reaches down and helps pull the clothes off of him. The Phoenix spreads its wings once it's free and shoots up and out of the cell, flying with smooth glides.
A couple of seconds after he disappears out of their sight, a beep sounds faint, followed by the harsh grating of metal on cement. Jensen and Daisy watch as the cell bars open like a door, giving them about a meter between the silver and concrete. They slip through, and head over to their friend perched on the ground in front of a metal door.
Jensen sets the bundle of clothing that is in his hands on the ground in front of the Phoenix and they turn around to let him shift back into the human form of Tony.
The cracking of bones sounds behind them, followed by the rustling of clothes—the usual routine they've become accustomed to now for shifting.
"I am now not naked," Tony says bluntly—for comedic effect.
Daisy and Jensen turn around to face him. Jensen wears a goofy grin and Daisy has a small smile playing on her lips. Tony grins back at them and then turns to the door.
"Remember," Tony turns to them, "there are two guards outside that door. We need to make them unconscious as soon as possible."
Daisy and Jensen nod and Tony averts his gaze back to the door.
He hesitantly touches the nob and retracts his hand quickly. When his hand doesn't immediately begin to burn, he knows it's not silver. He opens the door and they file out of the hallway containing the rows of empty cells.
But before they walk down the hallway, they come face to face with two rather large men in military uniform with rather large guns.
In a blur, the teenagers fight the men. It only takes them a couple of minutes considering they have the upper hand—powers and all that.
Jensen looks around, his eyes bright orange. "It's clear," he says and they continue walking down the concrete hall in front of them. At the end of the hall, they turn left, only to turn right, and then come face to face with an open area.
They run, adrenaline pumping through them like a horse on a racetrack, to the door opposite of them, next to the elevator. They pull the door open and run down the stairs as best as they can. Once down two flights of stairs, they see a sign with the number seven on it. After two more flights, they see an eight. They sprint down the last set of stairs and push through the exit.
They run down more hallways, Jensen guiding them easily. He stops at a random door he pushes through it, Tony and Daisy right on his heel, entering a dark room.
"Daisy, you have night vision," Jensen's voice says softly next to her.
Daisy turns her eyes from hazel to bright yellow, allowing her to see more clearly. Though not perfect night vision, it's bright enough to her where she can see the control panel and all of its buttons. She doesn't know which cell they're in so she presses all of the open buttons under the number.
The familiar grating sound fills their ears as she searches for a button or switches to turn on the lights. Finally, her fingers find a light switch and she flicks it on. She turns around only to be met with a mass of people, young and old, beaten and tired.
The three teenagers stand still with wide eyes as they look over the crowd of people.
"Tony?" a voice calls out. The crowd shuffles around as someone comes to the front. His wavy brown hair sticks to his forehead and his brown eyes, dull but containing a spark of hope.
Tony steps forward and hugs his brother. Alec's arms are slack for a couple of seconds before he reaches them around and squeezes him back.
"Who are all these people?" Daisy asks Alec as they pull away from each other.
Alec turns to face them. "They're all werewolves that have been captured. The ones that were lucky enough to live, that is."
"They treat us like monsters," a middle-aged man with greying hair and a sunken face speaks up. A woman with ratty brown hair steps aside to let him step forward. "We're either killed or left here to die." His deep voice is shaky and cracks with every word.
"Why would anyone do this?" Jensen asks him.
The man's lifeless green eyes switch over to him. "Because we're different. Because we're part animal. Because we're supernatural."
"My God, I finally found you," a voice calls outs. An Asian man about Alec's age pushes through the crowd. He has black hair that sticks up in tufts and black eyes that have a wild look in them. "My King." He drops to his knees.
The room is silent for a moment and then people begin to gasp. "What are you?" "Are you him?" "It's not possible" All the attention turns to Tony.
Tony's heart bounds in his chest and anxiety surges through him—he's not used to having people staring at him so intently. "What's going on?" He turns to Alec.
"In legends, the Phoenix was the leader of the supernatural. He or she was the king. It's believed that if you ever meet the Phoenix, you're supposed to follow him and devote your life to him," Alec explains to his brother.
Tony raises his eyebrows. "What? I knew I was supposed to be a leader, but, de-devote? I'm a bird, not Jesus."
Alec cracks a small smile at him and turns back to the crowd who had begun to kneel.
The three other young adults that stand next to Tony watch as the crowd lowers to the ground, kneeling before him.
"Get up," Tony tells them. The people are hesitant to rise from the ground. "Whatever I am, Phoenix, Supernatural, Human, Bird, or I guess... Leader, I don't want to kneel. I'm not God. and I'm hardly a leader of any sort," he tells them honestly.
The Asian man shakes his head and stands. He pulls back his sleeve to reveal a tattoo on his arm of a bird surrounded by nine symbols. Tony notices them as representing each of the classes within the supernatural. "This tattoo has burned against my flesh many times in my life." He shows him his arm and steps close to him. He stares Tony straight in the eyes. "It burned for Arthur Pendragon, Joan of Arc, Theodore Roosevelt, and many more. And now you."
"I-" Tony can't think of a response to that. How old is this guy? "How-"
The man nods and pulls down his sleeve and composes himself. "My name is Percival, and I am a werewolf that never dies. I am the only one of my kind. I am your protector."
Tony's eyes widen and he sighs, processing how to respond to any of it. "I— I don't really know what to say. I've just recently unlocked my shifting ability, I've just recently learned about these bad guys, and now I'm learning that I'm considered a King to the supernatural with a freaking protector...I-"
"I have faith in you. There is a reason you are the Phoenix. It chose you. Fate chose you," an older woman replies to him in the front.
A lot of "yeah's" follow her statement.
Tony looks back at Percival. The man nods.
Tony offers a small smile but it immediately drops when out of nowhere, an alarm goes off. It blares all around them, the kids in the crowd cover their ears and most of them scream.
Daisy turns around to face the door, alert. "They're coming, we have to go," she tells them, her voice urgent.
Tony glances at her and back to the people behind them. "Let's get out of here."
