"So, how many other species are there?" Jensen asks as Tony leads them to yet another part of the seemingly never-ending house.

"There are ten in total," he says over his shoulder. "So, I still have five more people to introduce you too—but these guys should be hanging around the same spot. And really, I could let you just mingle around but I want you to meet the coolest guys around here." He laughs. "I don't want to do you dirty."

Tony spots a group of people lounging in the living room and waves at them. "Yo," he says as they approach a group of teenagers around their age.

"Tony, your back!" A girl with wavy, honey-brown hair jumps up from the sofa to wrap the boy in a hug.

Jensen notices Daisy tense up in the corner of his eye and he feels a pang in his chest. He knows this feeling well, it's something he's tried very hard to ignore for the past couple of days whenever Tony and Daisy act friendly with one another—jealousy.

"Hey, Heather, it's good to be back." He pulls away from her so she can see the teens that stand behind him. "These are my friends, Daisy and Jensen."

Now that she's not hidden behind Tony, Jensen can get a better look at the girl, and she's certainly a sight for sore eyes. She fits the name Heather perfectly. Not only her aura is captivating by itself, but her fair skin is next to flawless and her emerald green eyes glisten with an enchanting glow of happiness.

"Hi." She gives them a small wave.

"Oh right!" The Asian boy that is sitting in the spot where Heather was sitting, suddenly yells. "Daisy's the new class B, right?" He nods his head in her direction while looking at Tony.

Tony nods. "Yeah, that would be my Daisy."

My Daisy. Jensen wants to scoff. She's not yours. He holds back an eye roll.

"We haven't had one of those in a really long time," the guy sitting on the couch adjacent to him adds in. He lays back into the cushions relaxingly with his feet propped up. His skin is a nice caramel color and his eyes a cool green, almost identical to Heather's. His hair is similar to Jay's, buzzed and dark, but it's not as close to his skin. Unlike Jay's, you can see the curly texture of his hair more clearly.

"That's Skylar." Heather smiles while gesturing behind her. "And that guy is Matt." She points to the one who has his feet on the coffee table. "He's also my brother."

Jensen's eyebrows raise at that, and she notices.

Heather laughs light-heartedly. "Obviously not fully related since his dad is black and mine is obviously white. So, we only share the same mom."

"Ah," Jensen mutters.

"Nice to meet you guys." Matt nods in their direction.

"Matt and Heather are Sirens while Skylar is a Lynx, like you, Jensen," Tony tells them.

Jensen nods while Daisy stays silent. "So," Jensen begins. "What exactly do the abilities of sirens entail?" He looks between the two in question.

Heather answers, "Well, our spiritual, or supernatural form, different people refer to it in different ways around here, is a Sparrow. And our abilities are mostly exclusive to when we're in that form. Our song can cause a momentary trance. Like, hypnotism, almost."

"Woah," Jensen breathes out.

"And-" Matt butts in, causing Jensen's gaze to shift. "When we change our eyes," he waves his hands around his head, "It shows your deepest desires for a couple of seconds, but trust me, you never want a Siren to do that to you."

"Why not?" Daisy speaks this time.

Matt looks at her with a solemn expression on his face. "Never ends well." He says it with such remorse and regret in his tone, that immediately, Jensen decides to believe him. He makes a mental note not to ever make a siren mad.

"You doing the rounds, Tony?" Heather asks her old friend.

He nods. "Yeah, have you seen Belle anywhere? I haven't seen her yet."

"Yeah. She's around," she tells him. "I'll text her and tell her to come find us." She pulls her phone out of her pocket while taking back her seat on the couch.

Tony motions for Daisy to sit in the open chair next to Heather and sits on the floor next to her, leaving the spot next to Matt open for Jensen.

Jensen sighs while sitting down, holding back yet another eye roll. What the heck is wrong with me today? This shouldn't be bothering me that much. I haven't even known her that long, and Tony is her best friend, of course they're going to be close. He scolds himself internally.

"So, Belle's the last of the people I'll introduce you guys to," Tony says, looking between Daisy and Jensen. "You've met Agatha briefly, the Vampire, you remember?" They nod. "Okay so, well they don't sparkle, let me lead with that."

Everyone in the room laughs, including Matt who had yet to show a real smile.

"But they might as well since they're pale as hell. Put a flashlight on one of them and they'll turn into a glowstick I bet," Skylar laughs as he speaks.

Heather elbows him in the ribs while rolling her eyes and a wide smile on her lips.

"Anyway--" Tony chuckles. "They have super speed for limited amounts of time and their animal form is a bat. Shocker, I know."

"Oh! And--" Heather jumps in, "they can see glimpses of a person's strongest memory by touching their blood."

Daisy shudders. "That's disgusting and disturbing."

"That's Vamps for you." Matt grunts.

"Djin's are another species. They can turn invisible or into whatever they want." Tony continues. "However, that's it. They can't do anything else, which makes sense since they'd be way too OP otherwise."

Skylar and Heather nod in agreement. "Oh yeah," Heather mumbles.

"Then, Hellhounds, generally, they're not the nicest," Tony says. "Their howl predicts death and their form is a large black dog. And, they're also super strong, so yeah, don't mess with them." He laughs jokingly.

"Tony Moretti! Dude, you're so big now!" A woman's voice yells as she bounds into the room.

Tony jumps up to give her a hug and is soon barreled into by a girl almost as tall as him, but stick-thin and long, black hair that goes down to a little past her mid-back.

The woman rocks back and forth on her feet before letting him go and examining him. "Wow, last time I saw you, you were shorter than me!" Her loud, hearty laugh bounces off the walls. She grins and ruffles his hair. Her skin is even tanner than his and Matt's, and her eyes, even darker.

"Gee, thanks, Belle." Tony laughs and steps away from her while fixing his hair that's now a mess.

Belle looks around and quickly notices the new faces. "Oh, hello!" She grins looking between the two teens. "We have some new people, aye?"

"Yeah, this Daisy and Jensen," Tony introduces them.

Jensen gives her a tight smile, suddenly feeling tired of hearing his name.

"Welcome to the pack, guys." She smiles warmly at them. "I'm Belle, your friendly neighborhood Caladrius."

Daisy and Jensen's eyebrows both raise at the same time.

Belle notices and nods. "Ah, I see, newbies." She takes a spot on the ground and sets her crossed arms on the coffee table. "A beautiful, majestic, snow-white owl, is my true form." She jokes with them. "And my superpowers include being able to sense when someone's lying about eighty-five percent of the time, and by touching your skin, I can speed up the healing process of pretty much any injury. And before you ask, no, I can't heal terminal things like cancer and hereditary diseases. I wish I could but..." She offers a small smile.

"Yep, our beautiful, majestic Belle," Heather jokes around.

Belle shrugs. "What can I say?" She laughs.

They all laugh and soon begin a casual conversation about the three teenagers' journey to the pack, and after a long hour of Tony catching up with his old friends and Daisy and Jensen making new ones, Jay drags the three teenagers outside.

Jay explains that there aren't any other residents for at least a mile so they would be free to be themselves—they would be free to shift in other words.

"So, I imagine that for the most part, you guys have never had any training before?" Jay asks them. They all nod their heads. "Okay, then we'll start with the basics. Defense." He explains a number of defensive techniques and then has them practice with one another.

Daisy is paired with Jensen and Tony is paired with Jay.

Jensen acts as the attacker first. He places his hands on the bare skin of her biceps and pulls her arms behind her back gently, only mimicking the actions.

Daisy pulls her foot back and softly kicks his shin.

"Wow. Okay, guys." Jay abandons Tony and rushes over to the other two. "You're supernatural creatures, not marshmallows. Come on, guys." He motions his hands out for them to begin again.

"Jensen, this time just grab her arm. Daisy, pick one of the most sensitive spots like I talked about earlier. Jensen will heal. Don't be afraid to hurt him."

"Gee, thanks," Jensen mutters as he stands behind Daisy again.

He grabs her arm, pulling her sideways across his body so she can't get a clear shot on him. However she's quick and whips around. She firmly plants her back foot and with the other, kicks him square in the stomach. Jensen grunts and holds his middle with both of his hands.

"Ow." His face contorts as he grimaces. He stumbles backward and sprawls out on the grass. "Holy—" He begins to feel a more intense pain inside of his stomach. He coughs violently.

"Are you okay? I'm so sorry. Did I kick you too hard?" Daisy rushes to her friends. She falls to her knees in front of him while bringing a hand to his face.

"I'm good." His voice comes out a little strained as he gives her a soft smile.

Jay clears his throat and they look up to see him and Tony standing there with their arms crossed. Tony has one eyebrow raised in amusement while Jay rolls his eyes.

"You guys need a lot of work." Jay shakes his head. "For now, let's just... Why don't we get some others out here so you won't feel like you're having to fight your friends," he tells them.

"That might be a good idea," Jensen mutters as he and Daisy stand up.

She rubs her hands on her pants and he rubs the back of his neck awkwardly.

Jay goes back inside and brings out three teenagers around the same age as them.

"This is Kate," Jay says.

A skinny brunette girl who wore a lot of makeup smiles at the mention of her name.

"Skylar," he motions toward the boy they met earlier.

Tony gives him a curt nod.

"And Cody." Jay points to the last person.

A boy with sandy blonde hair and a defined jaw raises his hand at the other with a small smirk playing upon his lips.

"Skylar, you're with Jensen, Cody with Tony, and Kate with Daisy," he orders them and they greet their new partners.

"Hey," Daisy timidly says to the girl who was a couple of inches taller than herself.

"Hey..." Kate's eyes scanned the girl with pursed lips.

"Daisy, Kate is a Werewolf like yourself. Jensen, Skylar, you already know is a Lynx. And Tony, because you just so happen to be one of a kind, Cody is indeed not a Phoenix, but a Hellhound. Now that you are evenly matched you will spar until I say to stop," Jay tells them all.

The kids all stare at Jay as they await their next instructions. He rolls his eyes at them. "You can start now."

The six teenagers face their partners.

Jensen has no problem pinning down Skylar's scrawny figure with his arm against his throat. "Sorry," he says while releasing him.

Skylar chuckles while rubbing his throat. "Not bad, newbie."

Jay tells Skylar and Jensen that they're done while simultaneously rolling his eyes again.

Tony and Cody circle each other throwing punches only to be blocked by the other. It isn't until Cody lets out his fangs and claws, do they really get dirty.

Cody swipes a hand at Tony, cutting his upper lip with two clean lines. Fire flies from Tony's palms, searing Cody's side. He screams out in pain and falls to his knees, clutching his burnt side.

Jay tells the boys they're done, and now it's down to the two girls who have seldom touched the other.

Daisy's hazel eyes meet Kate's silver ones as they circle one another. She repeats a move she pulled earlier and goes to kick Kate in the stomach—but the other girl jumps back and lunges as Daisy loses her balance. Her fist meets the side of Daisy's jaw, causing her to stumble backward.

As Kate goes for another punch, Daisy regains her balance and ducks her fist and grabs her by the middle, throwing them both to the ground.

Kate retaliates by kneeing Daisy in the stomach sending her onto her back. The girls jump to their feet, fangs, and claws out now, ready to unleash another level of determination.

"That's enough girls." Jay steps in between them. Their eyes change back from yellow and their claws and teeth retract.

"Okay, let's go again!" Jay shouts.

They spar like this for thirty more minutes, until everyone is out of breath, bruised, and bleeding a little.

Jay scans over them proudly. "I understand that this sucks," he tells them honestly. "I don't like getting hurt either." He walks around them in a large oval as he speaks. His hands are clasped behind his back and his eyes scan them up and down. "But best believe, this is nothing like the real world." He stop in the middle of the line of teenagers before him.

"So," he begins, "know that this is child's play. Prepare your mind and body for worse and you'll be ready. We'll train again tomorrow--harder, dirtier, and nastier."

"You guys can go now," Jay says to half of the teenagers. He nods his head at them. Skylar and Kate go to help Cody back into the house, leaving the others.

"So, you guys picked out your choice weapon yet?" Jay claps his hands together.

Jensen sighs, training never stops, I guess. He nods.

The four of them venture back inside the house to grab weapons and then end up back in the place that they started.

Jay sets up a piece of paper with a picture of a target on it, on a tree. "Jensen, you're first." Jay tries to help Jensen but the boy reassures him that he knows what he's doing.

Jensen holds up a black pistol towards the target and takes in a deep breath. On the exhale he pulls the trigger. A loud bang echoes throughout the yard.

"Well, okay..." Jay exhales as he stares at the target with a hole just left of the center.

"Military family," Jensen mutters as he disables the gun and steps back. He could do this in his sleep if he wanted. At least this part is easy. Although, the fighting wasn't that bad either, at least, with Skylar as his opponent--which isn't saying much. The kid's super scrawny and doesn't have much muscle on his bones.

"Alright, Tony, you ready?" Jay turns to the other boy.

Tony nods his head and steps up so that he's in front of the target now. Tony's weapon of choice is a black, military-grade machine gun. Three consecutive bangs echo as he presses on the trigger for just a second. He looks back up at the target to see that a little farther from the middle than Jensen.

"Good, still room for improvement though," he tells him and turns to the last person. "Ready, Miss Daisy?"

She nods hesitantly. In Daisy's hand is a throwing knife, opting for the slightly less intimidating weapon. When Daisy releases the blade from her grip, she already knows that it was a bad throw. It bounces off the tree a foot below the paper.

"Hey, don't sweat it, knives are the hardest to have good accuracy," Jay slaps his hand on her shoulder. Daisy grimaces as he hits a bruise from her spar earlier.

"Also, I wanted to let you guys know, every night from six to eight is workout time. Use this time to work on whatever you need to in order to improve. Additionally, from nine to ten is when we have our pack meeting. Alec expects you to participate in both events as the rest of the pack will be participating in these as well." He smiles wide. "You're one of us now."

The teen's nod and Jay leaves them with their weapons.

"This is... definitely different, that's for sure," Daisy mutters as she goes to collect her discarded knife.

"Let's just try to make the best of it..." Tony grimaces as he touches the healing wounds on his upper lip.

"At least they have pizza," Jensen adds with a shrug, causing a small smile to appear on Daisy's lips.
