VSA Part Two

Kirk mentally sighed. Of course he would be in this situation. He did not know how to answer the questions without bringing harm to Tarsus. He allowed minutes to pass as he carefully constructed an answer he hoped would be satisfactory, unaware that an ambassador was among the group of observers.
"I was strongly encouraged to keep my identity hidden for the sake of peace. My only intention was to finish my education and begin the process of releasing Tarsus IV from its quarantine as we are merely an extension of Starfleet and the Federation, posing no threat to them." Kirk kept his voice steady and his eyes locked on the leader, an intense fire burning in his brilliant blue eyes. The Vulcans conversed briefly. One of the Vulcan instructors stepped forward.
"We do not fault the logic or doubt your intentions as they are truthful. We are perplexed by your choice to hide yourself when we would have still accepted you into the Academy." Man, did Kirk hate how Vulcans seemed to solely focus on logic. He shifted in his Tarsus teaching suite, aware that the Vulcans could monitor his heart rate from their pads.
"It was not alone in the worry of what could befall Tarsus IV in my absence. To have my identity open would jeopardize the fragile ties connecting us to the rest of the universe. I was also selfish in wanting to be able to be myself. I did not want to be viewed as my father. I apologize for the deception. I must return to Tarsus Academy immediately as I am to show Starfleet Admiralty around." Kirk couldn't help it when the suite made a beeping sound and a voice was heard.
"Dr. K, the ship is in low orbit and we are ready to beam you up." Kirk facepalmed before he disappeared in light from the chamber. The Vulcans started to murmur as Sarek and a few others left to head to the Tarsus system and allow it back into the Federation. Sarek was shocked at all that the files contained. The whole journey was spent by the Vulcans reading Kirk's files.
