Constellations

Haley took in a deep breath and closed her eyes for a brief moment. She loved it here, on top of New York with Caroline and the fact that they weren't exactly allowed to be here was exciting Haley on a whole new level. She felt rebellious, also just free; she had always been a good girl, never broke the rules, but something about Caroline made her want to break out.

The fresh air was flowing through the fabric of her clothes and left tingles all over her body. Maybe Caroline was a reason for the rising goosebumps as well, just the way she looked at Haley made her weak.

"This is incredible, Caroline..." Haley turned around and met Caroline's gaze that had been glued to Haley.

She smiled softly and walked towards the table, never breaking eye contact. Caroline pulled out the chair, gesturing for Haley to take a seat.

"Please sit with me?" she asked Haley.

Haley walked towards the chair and sat down, offering Caroline a sweet smile.

"Thank you" she said.

Caroline took the seat opposite her and tilted her head to the side watching Haley intensely.

"Have I told you that you look beautiful tonight?" she asked, a smirk creeping up her face.

"Uhm, yes, thank you" Haley blushed the darkest shade of red ever.

She was getting so nervous, Caroline's eyes were so brown and they have been fixated on Haley's face. Caroline looked gorgeous and this place was so romantic, nobody had ever put so much effort into something for her before, Caroline was even risking her job for basically breaking in on her boss' roof terrace.

"So, are you hungry?" Caroline asked, leaning back in her seat.

"God yes, so hungry!"

Caroline got up and walked over to a small black box next to their table and came back with two huge paper boxes. She smirked.

"I know this is all cliché and we aren't at a restaurant, but I think a nice pizza always works" she opened the boxes, smirking at Haley.

"Pete brought them here minutes before we got here" she said excitedly.

"This is so adorable, you're so cute" Haley giggled "I love pizza!"

"Bon appetite and you may just grab a slice" Caroline bowed down awkwardly and couldn't contain her laughter. Haley joined in. What a cute dork she thought.

After a while they finished the two pizzas. The dinner was filled with small talk about their work and other random things, but they were both genuinely interested in what the other had to say. It was never weird or awkward, when they were busy chewing the pizza they just exchanged soft glances and smiles, both if them blushing uncontrollably.

Haley wiped her mouth and took a sip of her wine, her eyes watching Caroline for a second; she was playing with the napkin in front of her. Haley's eyes traveled down to Caroline's fingers and she reached out over the table slowly until she touched Caroline's hand.

"Thank you for dinner Caro" she said, smiling at their hands.

Caroline brushed her thumb along Haley's hand and smiled widely, she looked at Haley before she raised one eyebrow, frowning a little.

"Caro? Oh god I hate that nickname" she laughed.

"It does sound weird, I must admit" Haley giggled "so then, what nickname do you like?"

"Guess all my friends call me Carr, not that it's any less weird" she pulled her hand away to scratch the back of her neck.

"I like it" Haley said, pausing for a second before she spoke again "Carr."

Caroline blushed slightly, she had never been the type for nicknames, but from Haley's lips everything sounded just wonderful.

"You're really cute" Caroline said, leaning back in her seat.

Haley smirked at Caroline, pushing away the chair, she got up and walked to the edge of the roof terrace, leaning against the balustrades. She took in a deep breath and screamed:

"Hey New York City!"

She laughed excitedly, turning around to see Caroline still sitting in her chair, watching her with amusement. Haley bit her lip and beckoned Caroline towards her.

"Come here and enjoy the view, Carr!"

Caroline hesitated for one moment, then she got up and walked towards Haley, who was still smirking. She looked so sexy and she was too cute, Caroline could barely keep herself together.

When she almost approached Haley, she stopped a meter in front of her, letting her eyes take in Haley's features. She was beautiful no question and Caroline felt a gravity pulling herself to Haley in the strongest way she had ever felt. She gave in.

Slowly she took one step after another, closer to Haley, closing the gap between them. Haley just kept leaning against the balustrades, her eyes fixated on Caroline's every move. Caroline placed her hands left and right on the balustrades, so Haley was standing in between her arms. She smiled warmly, her eyes finding Haley's lips. They looked so plump and delicious. Haley licked them teasingly.

Caroline broke eye contact, when her eyes fell shut, due to a soft hand on her back. Haley had placed it on Caroline's lower back, pulling her closer, almost flush against her own body. Both of them felt tingles run all over their bodies, electric waves shooting through their bodies right where the other touched it. When Haley snug her arms around Caroline's waist pulling her flush against her body, Caroline couldn't stop a soft moan to escape from her mouth. She let her hands run up Haley's arm until she cupped her face, her thumb brushed along Haley's cheek and they smiled at one another.

This moment was so intimate, it was like time stood still and it was only them in the whole wide universe. Caroline leaned in and captured Haley's lips with her own. Haley stood still for a split second, but then she kissed Caroline back softly, but desperately. She entwined her hands behind Caroline's back to pull her impossibly closer.

They felt the wind touch their skin, that was covered in goosebumps, but not because it was getting quite cold up there on the roof, no that for sure had nothing to do with it. Their lips moved slowly and they kissed passionately, two people who were falling for each other, talking in their very own language.

After what felt like hours, they pulled away, breathless, but in such a bliss. Caroline smiled weakly, letting her fingertips tickle along the back of Haley's neck. They couldn't speak just yet, their minds weren't functioning properly, so they just stared into each others eyes for a while. Haley was completely lost in Caroline's embrace, in her scent, in her eyes. She let her hands grab a hold of Caroline's waist, pecking her lips once more.

"Caroline, I just, I don't know what to say" Haley started.

"You don't have to say anything" Caroline smiled.

"But this date is wonderful, so thank you for it" she squeezed her waist gently.

"It's a pleasure."

Caroline moved her hands down Haley's arms till she could grab her hands, she smiled sweetly and pulled Haley away from the balustrades.

"I have an idea, wait here for one moment, okay?" Caroline smirked at Haley, then she ran off to the door and disappeared.

Haley stood on the roof alone, she looked up at the sky and noticed how many stars there had been, she tried to make out the typical constellations, but she couldn't get them. She wondered what Caroline was planning, she just disappeared and left Haley curious. She loved how this evening had turned out so far, the pizza was delicious and kissing Caroline was definitely the highlight. Haley was impressed how much effort Caroline had put into this and well her, she felt her heart beat so fast and all the tingles on her skin, it was new to Haley, but she loved it. All these signs and things she felt when she was with Caroline overwhelmed Haley, she wanted to be Caroline's and Caroline to be hers. She just couldn't rush things.

Though she wasn't left alone with her thoughts for long; Caroline came back in sight and she was carrying blankets. Where the hell did she find them? She smiled triumphantly. When she reached Haley, she placed the blankets on the floor, trying to make it look as comfortable as possible.

"Here, take this" she said and handed Haley a parka.

"Thanks, but where did you find those?" Haley asked, taking the parka.

"We have some old blankets in the dressmaking, nobody will notice that we borrowed them. And the parka, I had this one in my office and I thought you might wanna wear it, because it's cold" Caroline smiled.

"Aww that's so sweet, Caroline, thank you, but maybe you should wear it?" Haley didn't know how to handle so much cuteness. She blushed slightly.

"No, I'm good, Haley, just put it on."

Haley did and she immediately was surrounded by the scent that came from the parka, it smelled like flowers and a little bit of perfume, she took in a deep breath, feeling safe and sound.

The girls laid down on the blankets, with a little space in between them, giggling and laughing. Caroline turned her head to look at Haley, who was staring at the sky. God is she beautiful she thought to herself. Haley felt Caroline looking at her, she tried to fight the smile creeping up her face.

"I see you" she whispered, now smiling widely.

"So?" Caroline asked teasingly.

"Come here" Haley breathed.

Caroline smirked, she just wanted to cuddle Haley and kiss her the whole night long, her lips just tasted so good and Caroline loved being entangled in her arms. She winked at Haley, loving how she blushed immediately and scooted closer to her until she was hovering over Haley. She planted a soft longing kiss on her lips and laid her head on Haley's chest. She loved how her skin started to tingle and how her heart was beating faster.

„I like this" Caroline whispered against Haley's chest, after a few minutes.

„I like you" Haley said, smiling.

Caroline lifted her head and smiled at Haley. I like you. It was so simple yet it meant everything to Caroline, she was on cloud nine, because how could she not feel like flying? She was on a beautiful roof terrace in New York City, late in the evening, with the girl she was falling for. Hard.

„I like you, too" she answered and laid next to Haley, their hands touching.

With the million stars above them, they just laid in silence for a while, every now and then they squeezed each others hands, just because they could. They didn't even have to say anything, their body language said it all. It was probably past 11pm already, but neither of them cared about time right now, it was just them.

„Haley" Caroline whispered. „Look there" she pointed to the sky. „It must be the great bear!"

Haley followed Caroline's finger and tried to make out the constellation. She blinked a few times, then giggled.

„I can't recognize it" she covered her face with her hands in embarrassment.

„Just follow my finger, okay?" Caroline took her hand out of her face.

She slowly moved her finger along the invisible lines to show Haley the beautiful constellation. Haley smiled, because Caroline was being so cute.

„I got it! Oh my god, I got it!" she said excitedly.

Turning her head to face Haley, Caroline just smiled sweetly, placing her hand on Haley's side. She looked into Haley's eyes for what seemed like hours, getting completely lost.

„I uhm, no never mind..." Caroline started.

„Hey, you can talk to me" Haley took Caroline's hand, reassuring her.

„I know this is a first date and usually you don't ask that, but Haley, do you maybe wanna come over and stay at mine? I don't want this to end" she blushed.

Haley thought for a second. Did she want to go to Caroline's with her now? Did she want to be around her for as long as possible? Did she want to kiss Caroline again? YES, yes she wanted to.

„Sounds amazing, Carr, I can't wait!"

„So, let's go then?"

They smiled at one another, getting up from their cozy blankets and stretched their muscles, giggling at each others cuteness. Caroline grabbed the blankets so she could bring them back to where she borrowed them from, Haley grabbed the empty pizza boxes, so it won't look like somebody was up here. They laughed and ran back inside, locking everything up and made their way downstairs to head to Caroline's.

Both of them were filled with excitement and nerves for what the rest of the night could bring.
