Caroline stared into Haley's pleading eyes, she was glad that Haley couldn't see her eyes at that moment, due to her sunglasses still resting on her nose. She had an almost déjà vu. This situation had happened a few weeks ago, when Caroline had been drunk and had asked Haley to stay with her, they had been strangers then, but Caroline had felt like Haley's presence would make her feel some way and she had been right. This was the only explanation to why she had come here in the first place. Something about Haley kept Caroline pulling towards her and Caroline couldn't fight this no matter how hard she tried.

„I I don't know if this is right Haley..." she didn't know how to react.

Haley's heart dropped, she couldn't figure Caroline out. When they first met Caroline asked her to stay, didn't she? So what was her problem now? Then she had kissed Haley, out of the blue, but then she had been distant and not to mention this weird phone call. Haley felt helpless and annoyed, because she felt like whatever she was doing was wrong.

She scratched her neck and took in a deep breath, looking at Caroline for a brief moment before she started to speak.

„Listen Caroline, you can leave, obviously, I don't wanna keep you imprisoned, but to be honest I don't get what is going on, with you, with us." She paused to swallow the lump in her throat. Caroline remained silent.

„But what I know is that no matter what bothers you, I will be here for you, because I consider us friends and well I want you to know that I care about you." She smiled weakly.

Her heart felt weird when the word ‚friends' left her lips, but they were friends, right? Caroline slowly reached for her sunglasses and took them off, staring into Haley's warm eyes. She took a step towards Haley.

„You know Haley, there are some-" Haley shook her head, interrupting her.

„Don't, it's okay" she spoke and smiled at Caroline.

Caroline didn't know what to say next, so she stepped towards Haley and gently wrapped her arms around her, Haley immediately placed her hands on Caroline's back.

„Thank you, Haley" Caroline whispered.

The two girls stood there in each other's embrace and none of them wanted to let go just yet. Caroline could feel Haley's heart beating against her chest, she breathed in Haley's scent and felt her smooth skin, she loved it. She knew that there was no chance to fight this force of gravity that kept pulling her towards Haley, she also knew that if this should really work out, them being together, she had to strip bare in front of Haley, not literally spoken though, she had to let down all her walls, all her past secrets, everything. This was the only way and Caroline felt like Haley could be the only one, who would actually understand and not judge or pack her things and leave. She was so sweet and caring and wonderful, she was Haley and Caroline was so attracted to her. So while she was wrapped up in Haley's embrace, her scent making her feel high on a whole new level, she decided to just let it happen.

Haley felt Caroline loosen the grip around her neck, so they stepped away and just smiled at one another.

„So?" Haley asked „are you staying?"

Caroline nodded slightly „yes, if it's really okay."

The two girls spent the whole morning and noon on the couch, talking and having fun, Haley had ordered a huge pizza for lunch, because pizza was the best when being hungover right? She had given Caroline an aspirin for her headache and they were sipping sparkling lemon iced tea.

Despite all the fun they had, Haley was still curious about Caroline's behavior. Why was she getting wasted during the week? She had a good job which you couldn't easily neglect, but she just wanted to wait for Caroline to open up to her on her own. She wasn't the pushy type anyways.

Caroline on the other hand felt happy and care free here with Haley. This girl made her live in the moment, she was so full of amazingness and stories and jokes and Caroline could listen to her forever. She wasn't caring one bit about her job and how she might get into trouble, or about anything at all. It was just her and Haley.

Later on that afternoon Layla had called Haley out of the usual. She told her about work and she wanted to know about Caroline and if she was still there, so she couldn't come over, which she would've done if Caroline wouldn't be there. Caroline had a few text message from Lily, asking if she was all good and that stuff, but she ignored them.

Haley was sitting on her wing chair, her feet resting on the couch table in front of her, Caroline was sitting on the couch, a pillow on her lap. She was comfortable, but she noticed Haley getting uncomfortable.

„What are you smirking at?" Haley asked while clicking her back.

„Oh nothing, just wondering if you need a pillow" she teased.

„This would be nice, but you have them all." Caroline bit her lip.

„Well..." was all Caroline said before she threw the pillow she was holding to Haley, hitting her straight in the face.

She bursted out laughing, almost crying at Haley's face and her hair being all messy.

„Oh my god, you didn't just do that!" Haley tried to hold in her laughter, but struggled miserably. She threw the pillow right back at Caroline, hitting her head. Caroline scrunched up her face in pain, holding her temples. She fell onto her back, laying on the couch now.

„Caroline!" Haley screamed.

She jumped up from the chair and ran towards the couch leaning over Caroline to check up on her. Caroline's eyes were closed and pain was written all over her face.

All of a sudden Caroline bursted out laughing and she grabbed Haley by the waist making her fall on top of her. They were laying on the couch now, Haley on top of Caroline with Caroline's hand on Haley's sides.

„You bitch, I was so scared!" Haley said, but she laughed then too.

„I'm sorry I had to." Caroline could barely speak, because she was laughing so much.

Then Haley lifted her hand and placed it on Caroline's cheek, making her stop laughing immediately. They were just staring at one another. Closer than ever before, their faces only inches apart.

„I I'm gonna kiss you now, okay?" Haley spoke, but she didn't let Caroline answer.

She leaned in, softly touching Caroline's lips with her own. She lingered there for a second and then she kissed Caroline's bottom lip gently, but passionately. Caroline's eyes fell shut and she let out a small moan, making Haley smile into the kiss.

Caroline's hands moved up and down Haley's back slowly, she then pushed them under her hoodie, letting them rest on her bare lower back. They kissed softly, but they both felt tingles creep up their bodies, feeling butterflies in their stomachs.

After a while of getting lost in the kiss, they pulled away, eyes still closed, only inches apart.

„Wow" they said in unison, giggling at how dorky they were.

„This just-" Haley started.

„I know" Caroline finished.

They smiled at one another. This kiss was so simple yet so intense and intimate, they just enjoyed the moment, before it slipped away.

„Haley, uhm I was wondering, if you would like to go on a date with me?" Caroline asked, smiling.

„Yes, yes Caroline, I would love to" Haley let her thumb run along Caroline's soft cheek.

„Really? How about this Friday? I'll pick you up at your house, okay?"

„Sounds perfect!" Haley nodded.

„I can't wait."

Caroline leaned up and pecked Haley's lips once more. She could do that forever, Haley's lips tasted so good and it felt like heaven to have her in her arms, this was all Caroline wanted. She had to make this date the perfect first date ever, she had so many ideas, but she wanted it to be special, no clichés.

Haley rested her head on Caroline's chest, she didn't want to get up yet, this felt too good. She felt Caroline's arms tighten around her, making her smile. Caroline grabbed the TV remote and turned on the TV.

They spend the rest of the evening laying on the couch in bliss, cuddling, wrapped up in each other, exchanging soft, shy kisses while watching some random TV shows, talking about fictional characters they shipped and how writers destroyed amazing story lines, as if they loved torturing you. It was the perfect evening for the both of them.
