Caroline smirked, then she turned back and looked through her DVD collection. She liked all kinds of movies, although she had a little preference for action movies, because a little action here and there was always good. Haley for that matter loved Disney movies, she loved when they suddenly break out into a song and it always had a happy ending. She just wouldn't tell anyone that she was basically obsessed with Disney movies.

Haley liked being here with Caroline, especially right in that moment she had the best view on Caroline's bum, it looked so good in her tight jeans and Haley blushed a crimson red since she was unashamedly staring. She let her eyes travel up and down Caroline's body. She must work out she thought, immediately imagining Caroline in a pink sports bra and shorts. Okay stop it now, Haley.

„Here we go" Caroline said after a while and turned back with two DVDs in her hand.

Haley smiled and prayed her face wasn't looking like a tomato.

„I've decided for one of these, which one do you prefer?" she asked, smiling at Haley.

Caroline held up „The Other Woman" and „Lion King". Haley looked between the two DVDs and then studied Caroline's face for a second. She wondered if Caroline knew about her Disney obsession or if she just liked them as well, even though Lion King was a pretty amazing film.

„I love ‚The Other Woman' it's a great movie" Haley said and decided against Lion King. It was too sad and she couldn't hold back tears when Mufasa died. She didn't want to watch a sad movie today, it wasn't the right time to cry in front of Caroline yet.

„Okay, so let's get it started then."

Caroline put the DVD in the DVD-player and settled on the couch, next to Haley. They kept their distance though, everyone in their own corner. Haley smiled at Caroline and grabbed one of the pillows to cuddle against her.

„So, you know that movie?" Caroline asked a few minutes into the movie.

„Yeah, I do, but it's always worth watching it, I mean Cameron Diaz is pretty sexy and Kate Upton on the beach, come on" she started rambling.

Caroline just smirked then nodded and turned back to look at the screen. Haley noticed she sounded very gay. It made her feel slightly embarrassed, since they've never spoken about labels before but when she saw Caroline still smirking she was relieved.

They continued to watch the movie, bursting out laughing every once in a while, exchanging side glances here and there and scooting a little closer to one another throughout the movie. Haley decided Caroline would be the better view, so she kept on watching her watching the movie. She wasn't caring one bit if Caroline noticed, which she was sure she did, because she could see Caroline fighting a smile creeping up her face every few minutes.

More than half way through the movie, Caroline's phone was ringing and she reached for it with a groan.

„Sorry" she mouthed to Haley and answered the call.

„Hello?" she said.

Haley kept watching her, she was fascinated with how beautifully Caroline's lips were moving when she was talking.

„Yes, this is Caroline Mason, who's there?"

Haley tilted her head a little and just listened to Caroline's voice. She grabbed the TV remote and turned down the volume so Caroline could talk with the person on the other line. Caroline smiled and whispered a thanks.

„Oh, okay, mhmm, I understand." Caroline's expression changed to something Haley couldn't interpret.

„Alright, not that I mind anyways. Okay, thanks, bye" Caroline said and threw the phone on the table. She took in a deep breath.

Haley sat up straight, she didn't know what to do now, she didn't know who Caroline was talking to and what it was about, but it seemed like it was getting to Caroline.

„Everything alright?" Haley tried to sound as casual as possible.

Caroline rubbed her eyes and turned towards Haley with a very weak smile on her lips.

„Yes, everything's fine."

Her voice was too weak for Haley to actually believe that, but she didn't know Caroline good enough to know what was best for her now. She tried her best to not cross the line or invade Caroline's personal space, even though all she wanted was kiss her and tell her it was all going to be okay.

„Okay, so do you wanna watch the movie? Or I can leave if you need alone time?" Haley asked and smiled.

„No, you can stay, the movie isn't even finished yet" Caroline tried to giggle, but it sounded like a broken sob to Haley.

They just sat there for a while, the TV was still silent and Haley could hear her own heartbeat loud and clear. She felt helpless. Caroline reached up and rubbed her eyes again, she was crying silently and that broke Haley's heart. She shifted a little and placed the pillow she was holding next to her.

„Hey, you know you don't have to tell me anything, but I can't just sit here and watch you hurting, so..." Haley started.

She opened her arms for Caroline to cuddle into. She just looked at Haley, hesitating. Haley just smiled and stayed in place. She just wanted to hold Caroline, she wanted to be there for her, dry her tears.

„C'mere" Haley whispered and Caroline smiled weakly and slowly moved towards Haley.

Caroline rested her head on Haley's torso, taking in deep breaths. Haley could feel Caroline smile and she gently wrapped her arms around her, slowly tickling her back.

„Thank you, Haley" Caroline whispered and looked up to look into Haley's eyes. 

„Always." Haley held her a little closer.

It was such an intimate moment and Haley wished time would stand still for as long as she wanted, because being here with Caroline in her arms felt right, it just felt right and Haley couldn't imagine being with someone else. She wished Caroline would tell her about the phone call and why this person on the other line had made her so sad. To Haley, Caroline didn't seem like a girl, who would cry at every occasion, she seemed tough and strong and Haley wanted to protect her, wrap her up and keep her safe. She also knew that they weren't yet close enough for each other to open up, but they were getting there, hopefully.

Haley tried to watch the movie, but she wasn't interested in it anymore. Instead she tried to make her heart beat along to Caroline's soft breathing. She inhaled her wonderful scent, the one she hadn't forgotten since the very first moment they met, minus the alcoholic smell though.

Time went by rather quickly, Haley wished she could stop it, because she just wanted to be with Caroline. She tried to make out what time it was; it was still quite light outside, the sun was about to set. It was probably around 8 in the evening.

Caroline was fast asleep in Haley's arms, she let out a quiet sob every now and then and Haley was afraid she would wake up and start crying again. She was being so angelic and peaceful. Haley listened to her breathing for a while, but she was getting sleepy herself.

The sun set a few hours ago, it was dark outside and dark inside Caroline's apartment. The two girls were entangled in one another's embrace, sleeping peacefully on the couch. Their breathing was quiet and their hearts were beating as one.

It was only till late in the night until Caroline was getting restless. Opening her eyes, she blinked a few times, her eyes fighting a vision through the darkness. She stretched a little and then realized she wasn't in her bed. She rubbed her eyes and when her eyes had adjusted a little, she noticed Haley sleeping under her, her arms gently resting around her back. Caroline remembered the events on the evening and she couldn't help but smile.

Haley looked so beautiful in her sleep and Caroline didn't wanna move just yet, she felt so safe in Haley's arms, she was so glad Haley was there last night, especially when she got that call. No don't cry she said to herself. Caroline never felt safe with anyone, but with Haley it was different, she even opened up her arms so she could rest there. This touched Caroline to the core, Haley was such a sweet girl and she was so caring and attentively.

Caroline knew that she eventually had to open up and let Haley in and somehow she wasn't scared, strangely so. She'd never met someone like Haley. Usually people she knew, people at work, weren't caring about her problems, they only cared about work and they never talked about anything personal. That's why Caroline mostly kept things to herself. She never knew it any other way. Well maybe Lily was different, she seemed like she actually cared. Yet Caroline didn't let her in on her real life problems.

She watched Haley's face for a little until she couldn't help herself anymore. She lifted her hand and gently traced the tip of her finger along Haley's cheek. It was so smooth and soft, Caroline felt a tingling on her fingertip. She could almost feel Haley's lips on her own and she imagined how their kiss had felt. It was magical. Caroline leaned in slowly and planted a feather light kiss to Haley's lips. She lingered there for the blink of an eye and then pulled away with a smile. Haley didn't seem to notice, she was still sleeping.

„Haley" Caroline whispered.

„Hey Haley" she was close to her ear this time.

Haley was getting restless and opened her eyes a little, she blinked against the darkness, but when she noticed Caroline so close to her, her eyes shot open.

„Hey" she smiled sleepily.

„We fell asleep, it must be 5 in the morning or so" Caroline smiled back.

They were still very much in each other's embrace, neither of them seemed to want to let go.

„Oh" Haley said and rubbed her eyes, Caroline missed her arms around her immediately.

„I don't know if you have to work today, but I have to get ready soonish" Caroline said with a sad voice.

„Yes, I do, I have to start at 7 today."

„Okay, so we might have to get ready, I need a shower" Caroline laughed.

God she is so cute Haley thought and giggled slightly.

Caroline got up from the couch and stretched, her bones clicking loudly. They giggled. Haley stretched as well and smiled at Caroline, it was a little awkward now, also because Haley still didn't know who called yesterday and how they were handling things from now on.

„I think I have to head home now and shower and get ready for work" Haley said and scratched the back of her neck.

„Uhm yes sure, you were very comfy last night" Caroline tried to make it less awkward.

„I'm glad" Haley giggled and blushed a little.

„No seriously Haley, thank you, it means a lot to me."

„It's a pleasure, really" Haley said and tried to smooth her clothes.

Caroline walked Haley to the door, she was wondering how Haley managed to still look like a goddess even after sleeping on the couch all night. Her hair was a little messy, but it looked so cute and adorable. Her make up looked still presentable though, it was a little smeared around her eyes, but not too bad. Her lips were shimmering a little, Caroline noticed it might be from her lipgloss, she hoped Haley wouldn't recognize it. 

„So, I'll see you around?" Caroline opened the door for Haley.

„Yes, of course! Last night was amazing, Caroline" Haley smiled and looked to her feet.

„It really was, thank you again Haley."

Haley smiled and stepped closer towards Caroline, not bothering if she might cross a line. She pulled her in for a tight long hug, one of those hugs that made your heart race faster, it made all your broken pieces fall back into place. One of those that made you feel the love and you never want to let go.

After what felt like only minutes, they stepped away, smiling at one another.

„I see you around" Haley smiled.

„Bye Haley" Caroline smiled back and closed the door.
