P.O.V. Third

King was currently sitting in the small room that he shared with the others. "Any idea what the answer to number eight is Weiss?" Ruby asked looking at the white haired female beside her.

"Figure it out yourself you dunce," Weiss said as she continued to search through the books in front of her trying to complete the paper in front of her.

"The answer is the primordial spirits," King said looking at Ruby. When he said this Ruby smiled and wrote the answer down quickly receiving a slight glare from Weiss.

"Do you know what the answer to seventeen is?" Yang asked looking at the male hoping he'd help her like he had just helped her sister.

"The four maidens," King said looking at to blonde in front of him.

"Thanks!" Yang said as she turned around and wrote the answer down.

"How about you stop giving the answers away and start doing your own work!" Weiss said looking at the male in front of her.

"I already finished it," King said looking at the them. "Also you won't get fifty it's not in the book. They kind of set you up for failure on that one but the answer is the Sion," King said looking at the four.

"Then how do you know it?" Blake asked a little curious as to why he knew the answer when he shouldn't.

"I love stories like that. Just short stories with morals that are somewhat hidden while short and innocent enough to be passed off as a bedtime story. Although the story of the Sion is a bit darker than I'd like and it seems a little ridiculous now that I'm older but I still like the story," King said as he looked at the few in front of him.

"I'm not familiar," Blake said looking at the male in front of her.

"I won't bore you with the entire story but the short version is that a long time ago a angelic prince found his way to remnant and was treated so badly he lost his memory of being an angel. After years had passed he found someone he liked and named him the Sion. As a result he inherited his angelic aura and his angelic blood when the angel died. Years once again passed and he passed through power on and then they passed their power on. Each time the Sion would be stronger than the last. It's said that each generation has a Sion even if they don't realize it," King said looking at the female.

Hearing this the four in front of him seemed to have a slightly different reaction. "What makes the story so dark?" Yang asked slightly confused, the story itself didn't sound like something you'd want to keep from children at least not at first.

"The angel was kidnapped and tortured for forty days. The actual story that I read went into graphic detail about what they did. It mentally destroyed the angel, that's what caused him to forget who he was. Of course as I said the story and idea behind it is nice but the idea that anyone could inherit this power is a bit ridiculous," King said looking at the few in front of him.

"It was your favorite story for the longest time," Weiss said looking at the male. "I remember the first few weeks after we met that's all you'd talk about. You used to be so obsessed with the Sion," Weiss said as she thought back to the years when she had first met King.

"Yeah, I still really like the story and it's still one of my favorites. I guess I've just drifted from it. Maybe I should read it again some time," King said as he got up. When he said this Weiss turned around to look at the papers in front of her and smiled.

"You should do that, it'll give you something to do other than bother us while we're trying to work," Weiss said as she wrote a small amount of information down on the piece of paper in front of her.

King signed hearing this and walked to the door. He knew that Weiss liked to work in silence when she was studying he just wished she wasn't so blunt about it. King opened the door with a sigh and looked at the females in front of him. "I'll be back later," King said as he shut the door behind him and began to walk away.

As he did he could hear a few muffled voices coming from the room he had just left. Most of which were talking to Weiss trying to convince her to be nicer. King smiled hearing this and continued down the hall. He knew that Weiss was a good person but she just had an odd way of showing how she felt. Most of that came from her father who wasn't exactly the nicest person. Even to Weiss who he had labeled his heir and on a few select occasions had even called her his favorite.

As King was walking he felt a small amount of pain in his stomach followed by a low rumble. Knowing it was a while since he had last ate anything King turned a corner and started to walk towards Beacon's Cafeteria. As he did he heard some laughing and a few slight screams. They didn't seem that distressed but it did sound like they were in pain. "OW! Please stop pulling my ears," King heard a female voice say. King was a bit confused hearing this and out of curiosity began to walk towards the sounds.

"See! What a freak! I told you they were real!" King heard a male voice say followed by some laughing. When he heard this King sighed realizing what was going on. He heard the word freak used frequently typically by people that hated faunas. When King turned the corner just as he thought there were four males laughing at a female.

He recognized the four males as a team that had been accepted with the others. However he didn't recognize the female. 'I don't recognize her so she must be an upperclassmen. If that's the case she should be able to beat them easily. Even if there are four of them I saw what they were capable of and I wasn't impressed. They should be a cakewalk for her,' King thought to himself as he looked at the five in front of him.

'Maybe she's just trying to prove a point. I should probably help her. I doubt four dunces like them would understand what she's trying to do,' King thought to himself as he walked towards the five in front of him. As he did the four males turned to look at him.

"Hey, want to help us teach this freak a lesson?" Cardin asked looking at King.

"I'll pass," King said looking at the male in front of him.

"Are you sure?" Cardin asked looking at King trying to persuade him to join them.

"Yes," King said firmly "I have no desire to be associated with you cowards," King said looking at them. When he said this it gained the fours attention and Cardin walked away from the female. When he did the female looked at the male a bit concerned. However she saw something that the others seemed to miss out on.

King making a subtle hand gesturing showing that he wanted the female to leave. "What was that?" Cardin asked looking at him. Unknown to him the female stood up and looked at them on the verge of talking to the them so that they would go back to picking on her so King didn't have to get hurt.

"You heard me you're all cowards. Four guys ganging up on one girl, doesn't seem very brave if you ask me," King said looking at Cardin and seeing that the female still hadn't left once again gave her the same hand gesture and like before the female was the only one to notice.

Seeing that he gave her the hand gesture twice the female turned around and began to walk away. "Watch it," Cardin said gritting his teeth placing his hand on the handle of his mace and while King could see the other three he could assume that they had done the same to their own weapons as they all moved closer to him. "Protecting freaks like her is what gets a lot of people like you in the hospital," Cardin said glaring at King.

"Want to try your luck?" King asked with a smirk. Seeing this Cardin's eyes widened with anger and he swung at King. When he did King moved to the side easily dodging the attack. "You're a little bad at listening. I asked you a question," King said in a clear mocking tone. Cardin once again swung at King and like before King moved and dodged the attack with ease.

"Bad stance, sloppy form, horrible execution, predictable movements, and you can be tripped right her," King said as he moved to the side and stuck his foot out. When he did like King said Cardin tripped on his foot and fell. "So you're bad at both listening and fighting. You don't have a lot going for you do you?" King asked in a mocking tone. Cardin looked at the other three members of his team a little angry.

"Well what are you waiting for! Get him!" Cardin said as he once again got up and began to swing at him. When he said this the other three males began to attack King as well. King was a little glad that Ace wasn't around to see this knowing that he spent two days trying to get King to fight him and he reluctantly agreed would have made watching King pick a fight with these four a little hard for him to watch. Mainly because King thought it would have annoyed him.

"Wow you guys are even worst than I thought. Maybe you should go get another team. Maybe then I might have to start trying," King said still managing to dodge the several attacks coming towards him. While he didn't like starting fights he also did like seeing others be bullied just because they were a faunas. However in this scenario he didn't mind fighting he saw Cardin fight a blonde guy a while ago so he already hard good idea on his skill level and if he picked on faunas that showed enough of his personality.

So this fight was one that King was particularly enjoying. After he had got used to each of the males attack patterns King decided to mock them even more. "Left," King said as he dodged an attack from his left. "Above," King said as he ducked so that he wouldn't be hit with Cardin's mace. "Left," King said once again dodging to his right. "Left again," King said looking at the four in front of him.

He could tell that the four were becoming visibly upset and as a result they started to attack more frequently and more erratically. "Right, above, left, above, below, right, right again," King said letting out a slight yawn. "Look guys I'm sure I could stay and let you stroke your ego's but to be honest I'm not sure if I can even call this a warm up. So I think I'm just going to go," King said stepping to the side tripping one of the members, kicking another in the back so he'd run into a wall, ducking and stopping so one would roll over him. As for the final member King let trip on one of his own teammates.

King smiled seeing this and began to walk away. To his surprise and slight delight the four decided not to follow him. "It's people like them that make me ashamed to be human," King mumbled to himself as he continued down the halls of Beacon. King then felt a low grumble in his stomach and sighed. It had been a while since he last ate and knowing this decided to eat something again.

King then turned down one of the several halls and ran into a female. When he did he quickly came back to his senses and looked down at the same female as before. Now that he was concerned with the four from before he could look at the female more closely. She had brown hair and brown eyes and her faunas feature was two large rabbit ears that came from the top of her head.

"Sorry," King said apologizing to the female in front of him. "I was a little distracted," King said as he looked at the female in front of him.

"I-It's okay," the female said looking at the male in front of him. "W-wait," she said as began to recognize who she was talking to. "You're the one who saved me just now," the female said looking at him.

"I'm not sure if you can say I saved you. After all I'm fairly certain that you could have handled them if you really wanted to," King said looking at the female in front of him.

"O-oh w-well I-I," the female began, becoming slightly flustered. King smiled hearing this and looked at the female.

"It's fine," King said offering her a smile. "I'm sure you have your reasons for not fighting back," King said looking at her earning a nod in return. The female then smiled and offered him her hand.

"My name's Velvet," the female said looking at him. King once again smiled hearing this and took the females hand and shook it.

"I'm King," the male said looking at her. Velvet smiled hearing this and looked at him.

"So do you have any plans?" Velvet asked looking at the male in front of her.

"Well, I was going to get something to eat," King said looking at the female. Velvet smiled hearing this and looked at the male beside her.

"Mind if I join you?" Velvet asked looking at the male in front of her.

"Sure," King said as he once again began to walk towards Beacon's cafeteria. When he entered he saw a few students eating several different foods. King smiled seeing this and grabbed a tray and began to gather several different foods. Velvet smiled seeing this and began to mimic his action however most of the foods on her tray were carrots. King and Velvet then sat down at one of the several tables and the two began to eat.

"So are you one of the new students that got accepted?" Velvet asked looking at King as he took a bite of an orange.

"Yeah," King said with a smile. When he said this Velvet began to eat one of the carrots she had got.

"Which team do you belong to?" Velvet asked as she watched King begin to eat the curry he had got.

"Technically, I don't belong to a team. However I guess you could say I'm apart of team RWBY," King said looking at the food in front of him.

"Are you saying that you're the one that was chosen to be a moderator?" Velvet asked looking at the male beside her. King nodded as he swallowed a piece of food and looked at the female beside him.

"Yeah, I'm not sure why he chose me but I guess I'm glad," King said looking at the female beside him. Velvet smiled hearing this and looked at King.

"After you're done eating would you mind meeting my team?" Velvet asked looking at the male in front of her.

"I don't see why not, after all it's not like I have anything to do," King said as he looked at the female. When he said this Velvet smiled and began to eat some more of the food that she had got for herself. The two sat in silence for a few minutes just eating the food that they had got for themselves. When the two were done King looked at Velvet and smiled. "So where's the rest of your team?" King asked looking at the female.

Velvet smiled hearing this and stood up. "They're most likely still in our dorm," Velvet said looking at the male beside her. "Follow me and I'll introduce you," Velvet said as she grabbed King's wrist and began to walk down the halls. As she did King smiled and thought about how similar this was to when he had first met Weiss. The two were somewhat similar however it seemed as if Velvet was more out going and kind than Weiss was.

As the two walked down the hall Velvet stopped in front of a room and turned to look at King. "Stay here and don't come in until I say. I'm going to let my team know I brought a friend home," Velvet said looking at King. When she said this King nodded and Velvet walked into the room and shut the door behind her. When she did King sighed and began to lean against wall.

He could hear some muffled voices on the other side of the wall but unlike he did with team RWBY he didn't try to figure out what they were saying. After all he had never met the them before so at the moment it wasn't really his concern as to what they were saying. The door then opened and Velvet smiled as she gave him a kind smile. "Okay come in," she said smiling.

King nodded when she said this and walked into the room. When he did he saw three new figures looking at him, one female and two males. "King this is my team Coco, Fox, and Yatsuhashi. Everyone this is King and he saved me from those bullies I've been telling you all about," Velvet said looking at the male.

"Again I'm not sure if saved is the word I'd use, but I was happy to help," King said looking at the female beside him. When he said this Coco stood up and walked over to him.

"So you're the one that came to little Velvet's rescue. Those horrid males have been nothing but trouble for her ever since they were allowed to join Beacon," Coco said looking at the male in front of her. "Thanks for the help," Coco said offering the male her hand. When she did King smiled slightly and shook her hand.

"Of course they wouldn't be such a problem if they didn't only pick on Velvet when others were around," Fox said a little irritated by the fact.

"Indeed, it's more than disappointing that they chose to single her out when she's alone and not when the rest of us are with her," Yatsunashi said looking at the male in front of them.

"I knew they were cowards," King said more to himself than to anyone but he didn't mind letting them hear what he said either. Coco smiled hearing this and looked at King.

"Well I don't see any reason not to like you other than your less than average fashion sense but the important thing is that you helped Velvet and taught those bastards a lesson in the process. I thank you for that and it seems as if Velvet really likes you," Coco said looking at King.

"Thanks, from what I can tell Velvet's a really nice person so I don't really mind," King said looking at the few in front of him.

"She also told us that Ozpin chose to make you a moderator," Fox said looking at the male in front of you.

"Yeah," King said looking at the team in front of him.

"You should feel honored," Yatsunashi said looking at King.

"I should?" King asked a little confused, he knew that Ozpin chose to make him a moderator and that they didn't pick on very often so of course he was glad to be recognized for his skill but he wasn't sure why he should feel honored to look after another team of huntsmen.

"Indeed it's not often a moderator is chosen. In fact the last one was more than twenty years ago when Ozpin himself attended Beacon. The moderator then was someone named Rain," Fox said looking at the male in front of him.

"Rain?" King questioned looking at the few in front of him. He wasn't sure why but that name sounded so familiar to him and for some unknown reason it pit King at ease.

"Yeah he was apparently really skilled and from what we've been told he was something like Ozpin's rival," Coco said looking at the male in front of her.

"I see," King said looking at the three in front of him. When he said this he noticed the clock hanging on their wall and sighed. "Well it's a little late, I should probably go back to team RWBY," King said looking at the four in front of him.

"Well it was nice to meet you," Coco said as she watched the male leave.

"Please do come by sometime," Velvet said looking at King.

"If you see team CRDL be sure to hit them extra hard for me," Fox said looking at the male.

"If you ever find yourself in need of sparing partner don't hesitate to ask. I'd love to spar some time," Yatsunashi said looking at the male as he left the room. When King did he shut the door behind him and smiled as he began to walk down the halls.

"Well they were nice, maybe I can come visit them when Weiss has me leave the room," King said as he began to walk towards their room. King then slowly opened the door and saw that all the members of team RWBY had already fallen asleep. However he did notice like the previous nights Weiss had left a spot for King to sleep beside her. King sighed seeing this and laid down beside her.

"I really need to talk to the headmaster about my bed," King said as he began to slowly close his eyes and like the previous nights fell asleep beside Weiss.
