Chapter 2: Beginning

King looked at the two figures in front of him for a moment before he smiled and nodded. "Yeah, I'd like to stay here," King said with a smile. Weiss also smiled hearing this and Jacques sighed and looked down at him.

"Very well, then please follow me," the male said looking at King. When he said this King began to follow the male. The two then entered the room that had been labeled the training room.

Jacques then turned to King with a somewhat serious expression. "Weiss told me about your amazing fighting talent so we will be putting those skills to use. I of course will not let you both live and train here for free so from today forward it will be your job to protect Weiss," Jacques said looking down at the male in front of him.

"So I'm going to be her body guard?" King asked looking at Jacques.

"No, because that does not require any emotional attachment, and you will only be protecting her from physical dangers then. This requires far more than that, you will protect her from both physical and emotional dangers. You will not just look after her in terms of danger but as well as in terms of her well being. In a sense you could consider yourself her brother," Jacques said looking at him.

"O-oh," King said as he looked at the taller male in front of him. Jacques looked at him for a moment to be sure that he understood what it was he wanted. After a few moments had passed he turned his attention to the female and looked at her.

"Weiss, I want you to go to your room and read the books that have been placed there. After you finish them you are free to do as you wish," Jacques said looking at her when he said this the female nodded.

"Yes, dad," Weiss said before she began to walk out of the room. When she did Jacques looked at King and sighed. A male then walked into the room and looked at him.

"King, this is the man that will be training you from now on," Jacques said looking at him. King nodded hearing this and the male looked at him.

"So today we are more on less going to try and figure out where you stand in terms of ability and skill. This is going to take up most of the day so be ready," the male said looking at King. When he said this King nodded and the two walked deeper into the training room.

P.O.V. Weiss

I sighed as I finished reading the last book that my dad had placed into my room. It was about Vale and Beacon Academy, my dad was really insistent that I decide what school I wanted to attend at a young age so that he could make the arrangements without a large amount of money.

However I'm sure what each is like apart from what the books tell me and I'm not sure if any of it is actually true. I stood up and began to walk out of my room. Dad said that I could spend the rest of the day however I want once I finished reading. So I want to find King and spend the day with him.

It seems like he's the only one who doesn't mind spending the day with me. Winter and father were always to busy to spend the day with me and Whitley tends to try and antagonize me. So I can't say I enjoy spending time with him.

I then walked outside and began to walk to the training room. I remember the first day of training Winter spent almost the entire day in it. When I walked in I saw King and the person who trained Winter fighting. However King's hair wasn't glowing like before.

The male seemed to have gotten a little distracted by me opening the door. As he looked at me for a moment. When he did I saw King move to the side and kicked his arm. The male moved quickly to stop the attack but didn't seem to have much effect as he was pushed back.

King then ran towards the male and I smiled "Hey King!" I said gaining his attention. When I did King looked at me and smiled. The other male jumped back and threw a small container with something red inside at the ground. I wasn't sure what was in it but it looked like dust.

When the container hit the ground it shattered and almost immediately flames came from the ground. It covered almost half of Kings face and he was sent back.

King was sent back when this happened and he let a scream of pain holding his face. Seeing this Weiss ran towards him concerned for the male. As soon as he did the male almost immediately felt regret for what he did.

"A-are you okay?" Weiss asked as the male held his face. She didn't received an answer and looked at King. "Let me see your face," Weiss said looking at the male.

When she said this King looked up at the white haired female and Weiss was shocked by what she had seen. Half of his face was red and scarred, Weiss then slowly reached down to look at him. She felt a few tears build up in her eyes feeling guilty for what had just happened.

However something caught her attention as she looked at his scar. She noticed that the red mark was receding, his scar was actually managing to heal itself. "A-are you okay?" Weiss asked looking at him.

"Y-yeah I-I'll be fine," King said looking at the female in front of him trying to make her feel better. King then stood up and looked at the female in front of him trying to force a smile. When he did the male walked up to him a little nervous and let out a sigh.

"I think that's enough for today and . . . sorry about that. Guess I got a little carried away," The male said looking at King. As soon as he said this King's forced smile became a genuine smile.

"Come one King I'll show you some more of the house today," Weiss said looking at him. King smiled and followed behind the female smiling. The male watched as the two younger figures walked away and sighed slightly.

'That's something I'm going to have to keep in mind,' The male thought as he watched the two laugh slightly. 'Despite his obvious in born ability for fighting,' the male thought as he watched the two leave. 'He is still just a kid,' the male said watching him leave.

The male then sighed hearing this and picked up a few papers that he had written on throughout the day. "Mr. Schnee will want to see these," the male said to himself as he also walked out of the room.

P.O.V. Jacques

I heard the door to my office open and looked up to see the man I trusted to train Winter and King staring at me with a few papers in his hand. I can only imagine that they were details about King's first evaluation.

"So how is he?" I asked as I continued to fill out the papers in front of me. I can't imagine that he scored that well Winter didn't score that well and she had talked about wanting to be a huntsman most of her life.

"Yeah King's scores were . . . well the kids amazing," I heard the male say across the room. When he said this I looked up at him.

"What?" I asked looking at him trying to confirm what I had just heard.

"Yeah, he was fast enough to easily keep up with me, he was strong enough to easily block my attacks and his reactions were probably faster than my own. His skills are lacking just a bit so he's seems to be reacting on pure instinct and even then there are little to no mistakes when he's fighting. In fact during our sparing session I got careless and he did this," the male said as he held up his arm.

When he did I saw that I was a bright red and was incredibly swollen. Being almost three times the size that I should have been."Are you okay?" I asked looking at him slightly concerned.

"Hardly," the male said as he lowered his arm. "He shattered my arm in sixteen different places with a single kick. I'm not sure where you found this kid sir but you stumbled onto a gold mine. He's a prodigy in every sense of the word," the male said looking at me.

I smiled hearing this seems like I made the right choice in asking him to protect Weiss. "You are free to leave," I said looking at him. When I said this he nodded and walked away. If what he said is true then I'm more than confident that he'll be able to protect Weiss when the time comes.

The male that was responsible for teaching King and Winter how to fight was currently walking down the halls of the Schnee house. As he did he saw Weiss and King talking to each other. However he saw something that caught his attention.

The scar that he had managed to give King looked smaller than before. Instead of taking up half his face like he remembered it was no just a quarter of his face. This more than shocked the male because it meant that his scar was healing.

It was healing incredibly fast when most other scars would never heal. In fact at the rate he was healing it looked like his scar may be completely gone in a few hours. He then shook his head trying to clear his mind of these thoughts and looked at the two in front of him.

Weiss then sighed seeing the time and looked at King. "I need to go talk to dad he likes me to report to him everyday about what I did and what I learned. Go to my room I'll be there in a bit," Weiss said as she passed the male from before and entered her fathers office.

King nodded as the female walked away and began to walk down the halls to the females room. When he opened the door he saw that the room seemed to be the same as before and that someone had cleaned the glass off the floor from the previous night.

When he entered the room he was a little cautious remembering what had happened the previous night. However as he entered the room he noticed that he didn't feel uneasy like he had the previous night.

King sighed realizing that nothing was going to happen and he began to walk over to the bed. He bent down beside the bed and sat down. King then placed his head on the side of the bed, his face becoming buried in the cover that was on her bed.

After a few moments had passed Weiss walked into her room slightly panicked by what she had just heard. She saw King with his head leaning on her bed. She was relieved to see that he was okay and walked over to her bathroom.

When she did she changed into her night attire and walked back out into her room. She then walked over to her bed and began to lay down. She looked at King who seemed to he sleeping peacefully.

She then raised King's head so that she could look at his face and like before part of his face was still scarred from the flames. However compared to how massive the burn was when she first saw it, now it just looked like a tiny scar on the side of his face.

Weiss then looked closer at his face and like before saw that it was slowly healing. She let out a sigh seeing this and looked down at him. When she did the male slowly opened his eyes and looked at Weiss.

"Oh hey, Weiss," he said looking at her. As soon as his said this a small amount of relief filled her hearing that he still addressed her as Weiss and not "Ms. Schnee".

"I'm glad to see that you're okay," Weiss said looking at him as she took her hand off of his head.

"Thanks," King said as he looked at her. He then realized what he was doing and what Jacques had told him earlier that day. "Oh sorry, you must want to sleep without me being on your bed," King said as he moved back slightly.

"N-no," Weiss said looking at the male. "It's fine," she said as she looked at the male. King looked at her for a moment hearing this and Weiss sighed and moved over slightly. "You can sleep with me," she said looking at him.

"What? R-really?" King asked looking at the female.

"Yeah, but don't the wrong idea. This is my way of apologizing for . . . what happened earlier," Weiss said slightly ashamed of the scar.

"O-oh," King said looking at her. "That's not necessary, you're already letting me live here," King said looking at Weiss.

"Yes, but that was repaying you for saving me. This is my apology, for well . . ." Weiss began not being able to finish her thought as she looked at the small part of his face that was still scarred. "So just shut up and get in bed," Weiss said looking at the male in front of her.

"O-okay," King said as he began to lay down next to Weiss. He was shocked by how soft and comfortable her bed was. Then again when he was with Rain they couldn't exactly afford luxury items.

"Hey King," Weiss said gaining the male attention. "Today I was looking through the huntsman schools, like dad told me to and I thought you'd like to look at them as well," Weiss said looking at the male.

The female then pulled out a few books and showed them to King. "Each of these have something about the four kingdoms and huntsman school," Weiss said looking at King. She then pointed to each of the books listing each one as she did so. "This one is the one we're in now Mantle and Atlas academy, then this one is Mistral and they have Haven Academy, this is Vacuo and their huntsman school Shade Academy, then last is Vale and they have Beacon Academy," Weiss said as she started to show King the books.

However for some odd reason the words Vale and Beacon seem to catch his attention. He was certain that he had heard Rain mention it for some reason but he couldn't remember where or why. "I'm supposed to pick one of these schools to go to but I haven't decided which one I am going to attend yet," Weiss said looking at the male in front of her.

"So I thought about asking you, which school would you attend?" Weiss asked looking at the male in front of him.

"I'm not sure, I'd have to think it over," King said looking at the female in front of him. Weiss nodded in understanding and moved the books off her bed and once again began to lay down. King looked at her for a moment before he also laid down beside her.
