"nalyssa" i said. this girl was not listening to me or tryna hear nun im saying.

"baby" i said lightly pushing her leg.

"hm ?" she answered.

"you hear me talking to you" i said laughing as she pulled me onto her lap.

"what you say ?" she asked throwing her phone down beside me.

"can you please talk to your sister ?" i asked.

"yeah when she apologizes" she said.

"she's been trying mama but you won't let her in. you guys are sisters and yes it's normal to fight cus kiare and i argue all the time but life is to short to be acting like this" i reasoned.

"but she really hurt my feelings" she mumbled as i interlocked our fingers.

"i understand that baby and you have every right to feel how you feel but i think she does wanna make it right with you. yk your sister and yk she would never hurt you on purpose" i said.

"yeah i guess" she mumbled as she lightly rubbed my waists.

"i just don't know what to say to her cus that really made me get out of character" her soft voice said.

i lightly rubbed her hips cus her body was super tense. her breathing slowed down and began to get steady, i could see scratch marks on her hips.

"what happened ?" i asked looking at them.

"ohh that happened after the attack. he forced me down and when he raped me he aggressively pulled down my shorts scratching me" she mumbled.

"im sorry i asked baby, i never noticed them before" i said softly.

"its fine, i learned to deal with it and it doesn't bother me unless im staring at it and completely in my head about it" she told me.

a few seconds later we heard a knock on the door making me look at the door and back at lyss.

"that's her" i said getting off her lap.

"wait, what do i even say ??" she asked nervously.

"just tell her what you told me baby. that it hurt your feelings. im sure she'll understand love just be real with her" i said and she nodded.

i opened the door and smiled at her.

"hey i was just leaving.. good luck" i said.

"thank you" she smiled and i nodded shutting the door behind me. i walked to the kitchen and sat down at the island grabbing my phone.

my sister, kiare called so i called her back hoping she would answer the phone. most of the time she only call when somethings wrong .

"hello ?" i said.

"hey sorry no emergency i just have tea" she said making me laugh.

"that's good sis exactly what i wanted to here. wassup tho ?" i asked.

"so tell me why i tell him like im done for good and he literally came over and started crying begging for me to forgive him" she said making me laugh and shake my head.

"girl he just acting, do not fall for ts he ain't sorry. please tell me you didn't take him back" i said.

"no i just told him i would think about it. jackie he was really crying and really sincere i never had a man cry for me".

"d*** kiare. you fold over a nigga crying over you ? that's the bare minimum. please don't p*ss me off. that nigga ain't sorry cus if he was he wouldn't have did what he did over and over and over and over again" i said frustratedly.

"h*ll yeah. kiare this man hurt you constantly had you doubting yo self worth. it's better men out here" i said.

"yeah i know.. i wanna talk in person" she said.

"yeahh i'll be home thursday morning for thanksgiving sis" i said.

"okay i love you and be safe" she said.

"i love you more and you too" i said. we said our goodbyes and hung up.

a few minutes later nalyssa and her sister came out and hey they didn't kill each other so thats a plus lol.

"so how'd it go ?" i asked.

"good, we talked and we're good now" lyss said.

"good cus i thought i was gone have to whoop both of yall" i said shaking my head as they laughed.

"so how's boxing ?" janiah asked as she sat on my lap.

"you just a big ahh baby fr" i said laughing as i wrapped my arms around her waists.

"yeah but you love me" she said and i nodded.

"it's good tho, i love it and really keeps me busy cus i get bored easily" i said and she nodded.

kb and i got out of my car and headed into target. since thanksgiving is tomorrow i was asked to pick up last minute drinks and while im here im gonna get jackie some "just because flowers".

"okay imma get the drinks you go get jack's flowers and card" kb said and i nodded. i headed to the flower section and looked for the best ones they had.

my phone vibrated in my pocket so i pulled it out and saw a message from jackie making me smile. she makes her my heart flutter.

bae💕: idk i never turned it off 😭. im at target tho cus a'ja asked me to get drinks! youn trust me or sum ??

she hearted the message and i shook my head and laughed grabbing some flowers and a card. i love me a overprotective older woman tho.

"you ready ?" kb asked and i nodded my head yes and we headed to the checkout to pay.

once we paid we headed to my car and then i drove to my apartment so i could shower before the team bonding.

"hey ma" i said as jack sat on the living room couch.

"hey guys" she said standing up.

"ohh i got you just because flowers" i said making her giggle and blush.

"aww i love em baby. thank you" she said admiring them. she kissed my cheek and hugged me tightly.

"you smell good" she mumbled into my shoulder.

"thank you. im glad that cologne was $70 bucks" i said as we laughed.

we decided to go ahead and head to a'ja house cus we know she was gonna need help setting everything up before everyone else got there.

since thursday is thanksgiving we're doing our team thanksgiving early so everyone can go be with their family on thursday.

once we got there, we helped a'ja set everything up is was me, jack, kb, ac and tip & we were glad to have extra hands to get it done quicker.

15 minutes later the whole team started to come in so we all fixed plates, settled around the table, and prayed.

"i better not get food poison" syd said making us laugh.

"okay h** ntm" a'ja said mugging her.

"i miss my girl queen. our first thanksgiving without her lord" kate said making ac hit her.

"sorry lyss, we're glad you're here tho" kp said.

"it's okay" i said.

"i just can't believe becky was so quick to get rid of her like she wasn't a big part of our team. not that you're not it's just -

"ouuu jack attack getting spicy about her boo. if my girl don't take up for me like this ion want her" chelsea said.

"what ?? im just saying queen was like my best friend and she just replaced her".

"okay guys this is supposed to be a happy moment okay ?" megan said.

"you're right, im sorry if i made you feel unwelcomed nalyssa" kiah spoke.

"it's fine" i said.

"jack you got anything you wanna say ?" tip asked .

"yes, you belong here boo and don't let nb tell you other wise and if you ain't gone say sh** i will." she said proudly making me shake my head.

"jack please" kb said snickering.

"YAYYY" the team yelled as kiah and jackie hugged.

"alright now let's eat" syd yelled.

"big back" kp said making us laugh.

i love this team so much even if we do have our ups and downs it's normal and i wouldn't have it any other way. no shade to indiana i am grateful for the time i had there with them forever.
