i picked up my phone and saw that lyssa's mom was calling so i quickly answered.

"hi ma wassup ?" i asked.

"hey girl. i just wanna let yk that lyss and i talked. thank you for taking care of my babygirl & ik that she don't see that this is best for her right now but she'll come around" nikki said.

"aww ofc.. i want nothing but the best for lyssa and she knows that too. did she tell you i told or niah ?" i asked.

"she told me. she was p*ssed honey & she let that be known and not to be messy but she was going all out on you boo" her mom said making me scrunch up my face.

"what she say ?? did she call me a snitch cus baby call me that all you want" i said.

"well yeah but she said that you got a big a** mouth and that's why she don't tell you nun & that you hate to see her with anything". she said making my jaw drop.

"fr ?? that's actually the exact opposite for my reason for doing this" i said.

"yeah she said that you ruined her basketball career and you can't hold hot water. she was talking about how it's not that big of a deal and you might as well tell the whole word that she did that to herself."

"and i was like chile jackie love you and she doing what's best for you and she did not wanna hear that at all" nikki said.

"d***. first of all i didn't ruin her basketball career it was either basketball or her mental health and i chose which one was more important".

"and second of all, ts is not something to hold no matter who you is. this girl used a d*** box cutter to cut her wrists open. i could see trails of blood going to the bathroom in her apartment and ts broke my heart even more" i expressed.

"yeah i understand what you saying baby and i totally agree with you and so does her dad. you did the right thing jackie. we appreciate you for taking care of our baby girl" nikki said.

"ofc anytime. i love your daughter and she knows that too" i said.

after talking to her mom i grabbed my bag and keys and headed to practice. once i got there i changed into my aces shirt and shorts.

"so jack how is nalyssa ?" chelsea asked as i sat down and grabbed my water bottle.

"um salty & numb" i said.

"she still mad at you cus you told becky ??" tip asked.

"yeah and she told her sister on me and niah called me and she was like lyssa told me what you did and im just like fr ? like you're dead ahh?"

"and she was like well don't tell her this but i think you did the right thing and im glad you told her but don't tell her that cus she'll be p*ssed" i said.

"okay but why is she so against becky knowing ??" syd asked.

"basketball.. she didn't wanna get pulled from basketball" i said.

"how do you feel ?" kiah asked.

"idk my emotions are all over the place at the moment. bcus nalyssa doesn't really understand where im coming from but im also happy that i did tell becky" i said.

"has she talked to her parents ?" megan asked.

"yes, her mom called me this morning. and yall lemme tell yall nalyssa was p*ssed at me like she really went off on me to her parents" i said.

"what she say ?" kate said trying not to laugh.

"don't be messy kate" i said laughing a little.

"anyway her mom called and she was like nalyssa said that you have a big a** mouth and that's why she don't tell you sh**. this girl said i don't like to her with nothing" i said.

"bye not you don't wanna see her with nothing" kp said.

"exactly, like baby i wanna see you with the whole world and more tf you mean ??" i said.

"how does her parents feel about you telling becky ?" a'ja asked.

"they were happy as well. and nalyssa was not tryna hear that her parents agreed with me. she said i can't hold hot water lol" i said shaking my head.

"that's nothing to hold tho" kb said.

"exactly and i told her mom that like not only did you hurt yourself but you used a box cutter. you lost so much blood and you cut deep asf to the point where ts could've killed you" i said.

nalyssa expressing how much she don't agree with my decision to her parents corrupts me cus there's no way you think i don't wanna see you happy. come on now boo.

"so you told yo parents i ruined yo basketball career and i don't wanna see you with nun ?" she asked.

"yup i did, cus it's true" i said nonchalantly.

"okay but that's the problem baby ts is not true at all. i told her because i care about you" she said.

"mhm i bet" i said.

"nalyssa. you finna p*ss me off. you not listening to me. like ion understand why you the only one that don't understand where im coming from".

"your parents does, your sister does, the team does & becky does." jackie said

"ion gaf. this is my life jackie and this is my career bro" i argued.

"nothings gonna happen to your career tho baby like what are you saying ?? becky's not cutting you she just wants you to take time for yourself and not worry about basketball".

"it will be here when you get back" she said.

"that's not even the point" i said rubbing my forehead.

"so what's the point then ?? like genuinely what is wrong ?" she asked.

"the fact that you ain't respect my wishes".

"you were literally hurting yourself what was i supposed to do ?? the amount of stress basketball already had on you was crazy".

"you were freaking out about being with a new team and worried about not being able to keep up and ts stressed you out nalyssa. so dealing with that on top of mental issues is not good" she reasoned with me.

"aight bro, ion wanna argue" i said getting up.

"nb tryna argue baby but you really think that i don't wanna see you happy when that's not even true" she replied.

"i did it cus im scared of losing you nalyssa. mental health is so important but so dangerous idk if all this could end up being to much for you"

i sighed and rubbed my forehead. i hate fighting with jackie let alone about this whole situation and im already stressing enough.

"hey neighbors said they heard arguing" kb said coming through the door.

"nalyssa thinks that i told becky because i don't wanna see her happy" jackie said.

"lyss that's crazy. she just cares about you and so do we. it's okay to take a mental health break it's needed" kb said.

"exactly. i wanna see you happy asf nalyssa and i've wanted that since the day you moved here. you're so mentally drained that you don't realize that mama" jackie told me.

"how could even tell yo parents im not happy for you and for you to even think that in the slightest is crazy to me. all i ever wanted is for you to be happy tf you mean ?" she added.

"okay you both need to cool off. jackie kp told me to tell you that her and a'ja are going for drinks later on and to meet them there".

"lyss you're coming with me and we're going shopping on me" kb said grabbing my hand and leading me to the door.

i grabbed my phone and followed kb to her car. all of this is just too much that i actually can't wait to go home and be in the comfort of my old room again. maybe just sulk but wtv bro.
