"how have you been ?? vegas still treating you right ?"

"so tell me about this happy relationship. i wanna know who the lucky boy is" she said making me nervously laugh.

"promise me you won't be upset" i said wiping my sweaty hands down my shirt.

"as long as it ain't that lil boy you dated in college" she said making me laugh.

"it's not i promise" i said and she nodded.

"so um im dating a girl" i said waiting for her reaction.

"and before you get upset she's a really sweet girl and she makes jack so happy" kiare said.

"mm" was all she said.

"are you gonna say something ma ?" i asked.

i had hope that my mom would except me and nalyssa but deep down ik she would act like this.

"what do you want me to say jacquelyn ?" she asked.

"ik you would act like this mom and i don't see what's so wrong with dating a girl. she makes me happy. love is love & ion have to worry about no nigga doing me how dad did to you" i said.

i never really argued with my mom cus she's sacrificed so much for me and my siblings and saying that made me feel so guilty.

"okay but you won't tell me why you don't approve of who i date" i said.

"mom i just think you should at least try because she's a really amazing person. and no one has ever made her this happy" kiare said.

"yes i do. and she makes me really happy" i said.

"fine. i accept you and her and i will love you forever no matter want" she said hugging me.

"i love you ma. and im really sorry about what i said. it's not you're fault and you did an amazing job raising us. you never needed him" i said.

"ik" she said making us laugh.

"so where is this amazing girl ?" she asked smirking.

"right now she's at her best friend's house. but im about to go pick her up" i said.

"what is she like ?" my mom asked sliding a plate over to me.

"she play pro ball like also. do you remember the wnba player who was attacked and rape in her apartment 5 months ago ?" i asked and she nodded.

"yes, nalyssa she played for indiana but wanted a trade. she went to vegas and- omgg" she said in realization.

"it's her ??" she asked smiling and i nodded.

"aww i can't wait to meet her" my mom said.

"hey im gonna go pick her up you stay and catch up with mom" kiare said.

"thanks sis" i said and she nodded.

"im so excited" my mom said smiling.

"definitely bipolar" i said giggling as i shook my head.

"she doesn't approve does she ?" i asked getting into kiare's car.

"i mean she wasn't to fund of it at first but came around and now she's super excited to meet you" she said making me smile.

we headed to their house and kiare and i talked. she said that their uncle stephen was gonna be there as well.

once we got there i got out and walked nervously walked in behind kiare.

"okay she's here" kiare said.

i slowly walked into the kitchen and jackie stood up & walked over to me. she interlocked our fingers cus it helps clam my nerves.

"ma this is nalyssa my gf, bae this is my mom linda" jack said.

"it's nice to meet you miss linda" i smiled.

"just linda im not that old" she said making us laugh as she hugged me tightly.

"it's so nice to meet you. you're the one that's been keeping my daughter happy. come sit i made food" she said.

"and this is my uncle stephen and my brother terrance who's kind of annoying but cool ig" she said making me laugh.

i hugged them both and her brother thumped her forehead making me giggle.

"but be the main one asking me for money" he said.

"it's nice to meet you guys" i smiled and they said the same.

"so tell me how'd you to come about other than playin on the same team" her mom asked.

"well um..

"you don't have to talk about it baby" jack said and kiare nodded.

"not its okay. but im sure you guys know but i was attacked and rape here in my apartment 5 months ago. so after i requested a trade from indiana vegas picked me up".

"and i was so scared to live alone i couldn't sleep at night and jackie was there for me from day 1. she really helped me and she offered to stay with me cus i was to scared and paranoid."

"she helped me get a new car, and before that she let me ride with her to and from practice and she basically dragged me out the house and forced me to have fun" i said making everyone laugh.

"i think the feelings really grew when she started staying with me. and her being there for me made me realize like this is who i want" i said.

"we love that" her uncle said.

"yeah im glad she found someone who's making her happy" terrance said.

"thank you guys" she smiled.

"well you are family now. future daughter in law ?" her mom said making jack blush.

"what's your family like ?" terrance asked.

"my parents are the best and super supportive and i have a little sister who plays college basketball for UCLA" i said.

"we can't wait to come to a game" her uncle said.

"right, if you hear me screaming yo name in the bleachers don't be mad" terrance said.

"i appreciate you guys i don't mind" i smiled.

"i can't believe jack did all that to help you. she's usually stubborn and all abt herself" terrance said making jack mug her.

"terrance stfu" jackie said as she kicked him from under the table.

"language jacquelyn" her mom said.

"sorry ma".

"not yall playing footsies under the table" kiare said snickering.

after dinner jack led me to her old room. it was cute and simple i love it.

"i love your family so much" i said.

"and they love you baby. come lay down you look exhausted" she said holding her arms out to me.

i got into bed and laid my head on her chest wrapping my arms around her waists.

"i love you" i mumbled into her chest.

"i love you more mama" she said.

meeting her family has been the best so far i really love them. im glad they except me and jack because i love her and i don't see myself with no one else.
