No Fear

Not only did I get the journals, but I also got to place some extra cameras and audio devices.
I watched as she washed her face, then came out looking even more beautiful without all the makeup.
"My cover is blown, so my orders are to leave the premises," I said, knowing it's the end of the line for me.
"What happens if you fail your mission?" She asked as she stood in the granniest pair of pajamas I ever saw.
"I've never failed a mission," I said.
"You were set up before you even started. Finish what you came to do, but keep me safe in the meantime. You have everything you need to expose me in those journals. Your secret is safe with me." She said as she got into her bed.
I walked to her door. "You better think long and hard about what you really want to do here, both of our lives are at risk," I said.
She smiled, but said nothing.
"I will," I said as I turned to leave.
"I hope you enjoy what you will see through those cameras." She said, and I paused then decided to ignore it and walk out the door.
I went to my room and saw a set of plans on my bed with a few files. Those need to be studied along with these journals, and I have some decisions to make. The other horseman is here to clean up after me if I fuck this up. He won't step in to save my life because it's my last case. My survival isn't that important to the people I work for, so it's just a reminder that I may still end up in that empty grave with my name on it.
I stayed up most of the night reading the journals. Many things add up, but how much did she plant in them? When I finished them, I went over the plans of the compound. I did find some tunnels, and I now have a good idea of how to maneuver without being seen.
The files are of all the people that go in and out of this house, along with the ones that live on the premises. I'm no longer looking for the informant or who wants the family dead. Now, I need to find a way closer to the big man himself. I changed into some sweats, laid down in bed, then pulled out my phone. After tapping the right app, I looked at what cameras I was able to place. I double tapped the one showing Danica, and watched as she slept. I can't blame the girl for wanting some freedom. She looks like an angel as she sleeps and that got me thinking. I thought long and hard until I finally fell asleep.
Breakfast the next day was much different than dinner last night. It was just myself, Isaac, and the family. I've never once spoken to the wife, but she stares at me with more distrust than I've ever seen from anyone. Danica may share some of her mother's features, but Danica is far more beautiful.
After breakfast, I searched the home and got a feel for the layout I saw in the plans, then sat in the surveillance room and went over the footage. I'm curious to know more about this wife of Sal's.
I sat for hours trying to find anything out of the ordinary. There is a time she was off-camera, and I'm curious where she was during that time. I even checked my cameras and found nothing.
It was time to call my handler, and to do so, I need to take a walk outside.
"It's me," I said.
"What did you find?" He asked.
"Why is the other Horseman here?" I asked.
"How did you know?" He asked.
"I'm trained to know everything," I said as I walked in the open yard.
"You already know the answer to that question. Did you find the informant?" He asked.
"Yes, and I feel it's trustworthy," I said.
"If he's credible, then put that aside and work your way in closer." He said.
"I have a plan," I said, and he listened as I told him the rest. I was given the green light to go ahead with it, then hung up to do a little more investigating before dinner. This time I entered the lion's den, the elder couple's bedroom.
I placed my cameras and did a little searching, and even cracked a safe where I found some interesting things. Mostly diamonds that were stored in a small pouch. I went back to my room, luckily I've not been caught by any of the men yet. They were told to give me free rein, but I still find it odd the third floor isn't more guarded. There's still plenty more to see in the double bedroom, but I'll be back.
Dinner was about the same as last night, except for this time, I was sat next to a dirty blond that doesn't know how to keep her hands to herself. She whispered in my ear to meet her in the second green light down in the fun room. She was trying to reach over and grab my cock, but I pushed her hand away and had my own whisper for her ear. "I prefer a woman of better moral standings."
She sat up and gave me the look of death that almost matched Sylvia's, Sal's wife, who has given me that look every single time she has seen me. This time after dinner, Sal requested to meet with me before he meets with the family.
We went to his den and he handed me a whiskey. "I see you've taken down cameras." He said.
"And replaced them with my own," I said as he sat down, reaching for his cigar without offering one to me this time.
"What have you found?" He asked.
"Well, according to the cameras, your cook tried to sneak into your daughter's room." I lied, and sat back to read his reaction.
"It was someone that knew he taste-tested for me." He said.
I shrugged. "Maybe, but the question you should be asking is why I found the footage, but your men did not?" I'm planting a little more paranoia in him.
He cleared his throat. "There were cameras in the kitchen." He said, and I sat back with my whiskey and crossed my ankle over my knee.
"It's someone that can access those cameras. At least one of them." I said.
"I need to know your price." He said.
"That depends on how much you value your life," I said in return.
"Cut the shit, tell me your price." He said.
I sat forward. "Your son is quite the character. Do you really think he can cut it up in the ranks with you?" I asked, and he sat back and looked at me.
"Just spit it out." He said.
I smiled. "I want his place in the family."
He shook his head. "No, you said it yourself, it's family."
I leaned forward. "Exactly, after you give me your daughter's hand, that's exactly who I will be, your son-in-law."
He laughed. "You want me to share my power with a stranger?"
I smiled. "Not just any stranger, the stranger that holds your life in his hands."
