Time For A Change

Chapter 71

Louis' POV

  I don't know if I can go through five more months of staring at the empty seat that once belonged to Niall. I squeeze Harry's arm. "Harry?" He squeezes my hand back. "Yes Louis?" "I know it's a long shot, but do you think you and I could both switch English classes so we both won't be constantly sad?" "I think we might be able to, given the circumstances we've been under the past few weeks. When do you want to switch classes?" "After our next two classes at  over." "Sounds like a plan Louis. Now I have to go, but I'll meet you outside of the chancellor's office as soon as classes end for the day." He leans in peck me on the lips. "I love you Louis." I smile into the kiss. "I love you too Harry."

     4 hours later...

     My classes are finally over for the day. They went by so slow that I thought that they were never going to end. I'm currently making my way to the chancellor's office who along with being in charge of the college, is also in charge of schedule changes. which I find interesting. I guess the chancellor likes to be one of those guys with absolute power. I text Harry and tell him that I'm waiting for him. My phone goes off within seconds and he tells me he'll be here in five minutes. I decide to check my messages to see if I have any missed calls or texts... and I have none. I shoot a quick text to Zayn to see how he is since.  haven't seen him in almost two days now. As soon as I hit send. I look up to find Harry standing over me.

     "You ready Louis?" I nod. We enter the chancellor's office and take our seats. He's on the phone, but he ends the call once he sees us sitting in front of him. "Hey boys. How are you doing?" I sigh. "We could be doing better. Having to face Liam Payne in a few days hasn't exactly helped me to be able to fall asleep at night." He sighs. "I know. I'm truly sorry for that. Now is there anything I can do to help you boys? I know that there's a reason behind this visit to my office." Harry holds his hand, his gesture of indicating that he'd like to speak so I let him.

     "Louis and I were wondering if we could both switch into another English Literature class. You see English Literature was the one class we share  with Niall and now that he's gone, it's hard to be in that class without him." He gives a sad smile. "I can arrange that. We have another English Literature class that runs at the same time as the one you're put in at the beginning of the year. A woman professor named Mrs. White teaches it. She's a wonderful lady and I don't think she would mind having two more students being put into her class."

    "That would be great. Thank you chancellor." Harry and I say in unison. "It's not problem boys. Just give me a minute  to print your new schedules  and then you can have the rest of the day to yourselves." He types a few things into the computer, presses print, and our schedules appear. Harry takes his and I take mine. We say our goodbyes to the chancellor and head back to our dorm. Luckily, neither one of us have any homework tonight we can relax for the evening.
