Chapter 48

Liam's POV

I glance at my watch and notice that it's already ten minutes to seven. Wanting to get to the soccer field in time, I run like I've never ran before. I push past people, each of them giving me annoyed looks along the way. Thankfully, no one has recognized me so far, not even campus police. It's probably due to the fact that I'm wearing a wig and glasses that makes my appearance different.

  After turning several corners and running by ten different buildings, I'm finally at the soccer field. I look to the bleachers first and immediately spot Harry, Niall, and Zayn. Then, I look to the field and spot Louis doing some quick warm-ups before the game. I quietly walk to the bleachers and sit down behind Harry and the gang.

    I want to appear casual so I decide to check my messages for a few minutes. I have no new texts, but I have one missed call from my dad, which I'll respond to later. After I clear out the missed call, my phone shows that it's seven. Time to carry out my plan.

  I put my hands around Harry's neck. "I bet you thought that I wouldn't keep my word. You probably called me a chicken and said I was full of shit right? Well, I'm here and I intend on fulfilling my goals tonight. One is to end you and the other to make Louis my bitch again." Harry looks at me with frightened eyes and I laugh. I'm about to choke him even harder when Zayn's right fist makes contact with my face.

  Zayn shouts "Try anything on him, it's going to be the end of you Payne. We've all had enough of your shit to deal with these past few months." I bark another laugh. "I'm not causing shit, I'm simply trying to get a bit of revenge as well as getting back what's mine, which is Louis."

   Niall then steps up to confront me. "Louis isn't yours anymore. All you did was destroy him emotionally day by day. It took Louis a lot of courage to break up with you. Let me tell you he certainly made the right choice by doing so." Not wanting to hear anything else come out of Niall's mouth, I out a knife and thrash it into his stomach. Niall screams and screams. Finally, everyone in the stands turns around to see what just happened. They all go pale and looks of terror wash over every single one of them.

   A somewhat attractive boy, who looks like he's a senior stands up and faces me. "What the fuck is wrong with you? I'm calling campus police." He pulls out his cell phone. "Hi my name is Chad and I'd like to report a student." He glances to Harry and Zayn. "What is that asshole's name?" "His name is Liam Payne." Chad thanks Harry and puts the phone back up to his ear. "He snuck onto campus when he was expelled a week ago. He just stabbed a student who's currently bleeding out. Come as quick as you can." Chad smirks at me. "Be prepared to get your ass busted and to rot away in jail."

  Wanting to get as far away from the scene as possible, I run down onto the soccer field. I'm going to go after Louis and force him to come home with me. He spots me and runs in the opposite direction screaming "HARRY, HELP ME!" Harry looks down at the scene unraveling. He gives me the meanest death stare I've ever seen on a person's face and runs down onto the soccer field. "Get away from him now or I will fucking hit on the head with this baseball bat. Don't think that I won't because I will." I roll my eyes. "Ooooohhh a baseball bat, how scary. I'm shaking in my shoes right now."

  "In fact, I'll show you scary Styles." I pull out a gun and point it at the center of Louis' head. "Try to hurt me and Louis gets shot." I look at Louis and he looks like he's about to fucking lose it. Waterfall tears fall down his face as he looks between Harry and I. Unexpectedly, Louis opens his mouth to speak.

"Liam I am so sorry for whatever I did to make you become this way. I'm sorry for leaving you and breaking your heart, but I had to do it for my safety. When you choked me that day, I knew then and there how evil you had become. Look around you Liam, you have traumatized everyone here who just wanted to play in and watch a soccer game. Are you happy about all of the damage you have done to these innocent people?"

  As much as I don't want to admit it, I know that he's right. I've become a monster these past few weeks. I deserve to spend the rest of my life in jail. I deserve a spot in hell for my actions. I openly mouth to speak, but Louis cuts me off. "I'm not done talking Payne so let me finish. I've been so afraid of your for the past month. I've been hiding myself away, afraid to set foot outside my dorm because of you, but those days are done. You came here for me right? Well get on with whatever you want to do to me and leave everyone else out of it you stupid prick."

I'm stunned by what just came out of Louis' mouth. No one has ever stood up to me like that before. Louis just unleashed a fire that I never knew he had in him. I drop my gun and let it fall on to the ground. Louis looks shell shocked, but relieved.

I get  the courage to finally speak up. "I realize how much of monster I am. I'm sorry for what I've done here today as well as you, Harry, and most recently to Niall." He walks over to me and grabs me by the shirt. Harry tries to pull him off of me, but Louis' grip is too strong. "What the hell did you do to Niall?" I look at the ground not wanting to tell him that his best friend might be dead right now because of me. Louis proceeds to slap me across the face. "I'm not fucking around right now. Tell me what you did to Niall."

  I struggle to make eye contact with Louis, but I force myself too. "I stabbed him in the stomach." His eyes go wild."What dis you just say?" I repeat myself, but louder. "I stabbed  him in the stomach." Harry gives Louis his baseball bat. Louis hits me in the head until I go unconscious. The last thing I hear him say is "You will pay for all of our evil acts you heartless fucking piece of trash." My mind then goes black and drifts off into a pool of darkness.
