I Guess We're Friends Now

Chapter 23

Harry's POV

I'm making my way to Louis. I've never been outside before ten in the morning so this is a new experience for me. The birds are already chirping and I want them to shut up. I spot a familiar figure from a distance. Looking at my watch, I notice that I'm five minutes late so I run to the familiar figure. When I get close enough, I notice a calm looking Louis and my fear of him being upset with me is at ease.

Louis gives me a one armed hug and it catches me by surprise. I thought he be spitting in my face, not hugging me. After he pulls away, he looks at me with sad eyes. "I'm so sorry for all of trouble that Liam has caused you. At first, you kind of deserved it, but last night you didn't even do anything wrong. All you wanted to do was throw away a pizza box, yet he tried to provoke you to getting into a fight."

I gently grab his arm, which catches both of us by surprise. "Louis, it's not your fault so please don't think it is. Though, you need to make sure you control Liam before he goes on a rampage and hurts others. I don't want anyone innocent to get hurt." He nods in agreement. "I know Harry. I plan on talking to him later today about all of this. If he tries to provoke or hurt you one more time, I'm breaking up with him. He's being petty and acting out of spite."

"Good because you don't deserve to put up with that shit on a daily basis." He smiles a bit and so do I. "Harry?" "Yes, Louis?" He looks at the ground sheepishly. "I was wondering if you wanted to be friends. If not, I understand." I nod and he hugs me again, but stronger this time. I hug him back. Louis is such a genous and kind person that I can't help but wonder how I could have hated him in the first place.
