4 : I was scared

"Mom, please don't leave me here"

Were her last words before,

The soul with venomed spear,

The eyes to her adhere.

The huge door slammed shut,

A petite soul lingering, scared,

Tears poured out of her eyes desolate,

Once again she had faced, another war unprepared.

A darkened room, a fearful girl,

Nyctophobia - fear of the dark,

As a devil in front of her did swirl,

And kissed her on her birthmark.

The un-illuminated room made a sparkle,

The girl stood up and ran towards it,

But her hopes broke apart as if brittle,

When she saw a firefly sprinting.

Time and again she watched the firefly,

Her eyes following each of its movement,

But soon, the light bade good bye,

As her eyes blinked in the sinister silent.

No more light, no more hope,

Its suffocating, I will die

I can't; I just can't,

Lemme go, I wanna see the light!

A day later, twenty four hours later,

The mother opened the door with a gentle smile

"The punishment's over, come for supper",

But on the floor laid the poor noctiphile.

Her body for some reason stained in blood,

Her face pale white with fear,

For with a piece of glass of the broken window,

The girl had engraved her final words on her forelimb.

The enchanting mother's face froze,

The sparks of her eyes crumple

"Was there really,

No other punishment possible?"
