Chapter 14 : Beer Bottles and Stolen Cycles

Cole's POV (I hope you all are enjoying his POV. Do let me know what you think about it, and if you want more of his POV)

"Are you two a thing?" Ryan asked gesturing towards Jason and Elijah.

"What? No we're not." Elijah said while blushing bloody red. He is fucking blushing right now? Ugh! You've got to be kidding me.

So we were currently back in Kylan's car. All through the hang-out I saw Elijah and Jason shamelessly flirting with each other. Even Ryan, who's basically a stranger could tell they were being too couple-y.

I saw as Jason whispered something into Eli's ears making him giggle. Yeah, now make out, why don't you? I mean that's all that is left to do anyway! Then thankfully the car came to a stop, as we arrived at our destination and Jason and Elijah had to part. Any longer of that torture, and I'd have jumped out of the moving vehicle, I swear!

I exited the car and held the door open for Elijah to climb out. Is your Jason giving you the princess treatment now, or is it me? "Thanks for the ride, dude." I said as Jason exited too and occupied the seat beside Kylan.

"As if I had a choice." Kylan grumbled as he started the engine and drove away.

Kylan's POV

"They live together?" Jason asked as soon as I dropped those two off.

"Yep. Their parents used to be high school friends who moved in together and they still live together.

"Aw. That's so cute. Must be fun to live with your friends." He said looking out of the window with a soft smile on his face.

"We can live together if you want." I joked.

His face instantly flipped towards me. "Really?" He said with those hopeful eyes of his. He's seriously so cute sometimes.

"I was just joking, but sure." I said smiling at him and he smiled back at me. "Hey Jason?" I asked not looking away from the road.

"Yeah?"

"It's not too late in the evening yet. Wanna hang out for a while, just the two of us?" I asked.

"Sure. I can do that. Lemme just inform Mom that I'll be home late." He replied.

"Okay, sure." I said feeling excited for the first time in a while. It's been so long since I hung out with someone and had real fun. I mean, Cole and I have always been close, but he always felt closer to Elijah. And I kind of felt like that third person in their friendship. Maybe I can have that one exclusive, best friend type of relationship with Jason? He could be my go to person for everything, and I could be his. I've always wanted that kind of a friendship.

"I texted Mom, and she says okay." Jason said brining my attention back to him, out of my spiraling thoughts. "So where are we going?"

"Wanna go to the hilltop where I took you on that day of my party?" I asked.

"Yes, I love that place." He cheered. "Lessgoooo!"

We stopped at a shop after that to buy some snacks and beer. My cousin owns that shop, so that's where I get my beer from, all the time. I don't even have to pay for it sometimes. And then we drove to the hilltop.

"Climbing up is always my least favorite part." Jason says struggling to walk up, which is mostly because the grip on his shoes aren't that good.

"Gimme your hand." I said and reached out my hand for him to hold.

"Oh thanks." He said holding onto my hand as I supported him up.

"Your hands are really soft." I told him, feeling out his palm with my thumb.

"Well, perks of growing up with sisters. You get the best skincare advice. I can give you the hand cream I use, if you want." He said.

"Haha okay." I said smiling to myself thinking about how little it takes for Jason to be excited, as we reached our spot. I sat down with him beside me. As I took out the beer bottles, Jason opened up the packet of cheese nachos. "Shit!" I cursed out loud as I looked at the bottle in my hand. "Now how do we open it?" I looked over at Jason who was looking back at me. "Forgot a bottle opener. Never really came out here drinking so..."

"Gimme it." He said extending his hand as I handed the bottle to him. "Now hand me another." I did. And he placed both the crown caps against each other, put a little pressure and popped one open. I was amazed! He looked at me and smirked at my amazed face. Since when does he smirk? Damn! I never realized this before, but Jason's kinda... hot?

As I handed him another bottle he popped that open as well. We clicked the bottles together and sipped them. "Where did you learn to do that?" I asked.

"My Mom taught me and my sisters this trick. We do it when we all drink together." He smiled at me. I must be drunk because Jason's smile feels kinda different today. I don't know how I never noticed this before, but Jason is one handsome guy.

"And I thought you didn't drink?" I asked genuinely curious.

"I do, only with my family." He replied looking over at me. "And now you."

I raised my eyebrows at that with a smirk on my face. "So I'm special, huh?"

"Well... you could say so." He shrugged and sipped on his bear. I chuckled while I sipped on my own beer. "Did you just giggle?" He asked with amusement apparent in his voice.

"What? No!" I scrunched up my eyebrows in disagreement, yet still, unable to keep the smile off of my face. "That was a chuckle, it's different from a giggle. Totally different."

"You totally did! You giggled." He screamed. "I was sooo cool with that beer opening trick you literally giggled like a school-girl!" He laughed out. "See, how I used the 'school-girl' term back on you? Haha, Uno reverse!"

"Are you drunk? Because clearly, you're seeing things!" I defended myself. Did I really giggle?

"So I was really cool just now, huh?" He nudged me with his elbow. "Huh? Huh?"

"Well, maybe you looked a little cool." I said. And hot... Dude! get it together! "So how are things with Autumn?"

"Good so far. What did you think of today?" He asked.

"I thought it was pretty good. Except you spent most of the time talking to Elijah." I replied.

"Are you, the Kylan Bergmann jealous?" He teased. "Jealous that I'm closer with him?"

"No I'm not." I sipped on my beer defensively. "Wait, are you really? Closer with him..."

"Awww... you're such a cutie, Kylan." He said suddenly hugging me from the side, making my heart beat like crazy. Now what's wrong with my heart? Ugh, this is why I don't drink!

"You're the one acting all cute like a kid right now, honestly." I said patting his head. He seemed to really like the head-pat as he smiled wider and snuggled into my side. "By the way," I said in a more serious tone. "I think that Ryan guy has a crush on Autumn, you know."

"He does?" Jason asked sitting up straight, making me miss his hug instantly.

"Well, I think so." I said.

"Really? Aw man. I knew I didn't have a shot at anything anyway." He said pouting and looking all sad, but also kinda cute.

"No, bro. Don't be sad. You're a catch! I'd say you've got higher chances than that guy." I said, but there was a slight slur in my voice. Am I drunk already?

"You know what, I'm not even worried anymore. I'm done chasing her. I'm gon' be freeee now." Jason squealed. Okay, we're both officially drunk now.

"Yes. Okay, okay." I said as suddenly a question pops up into my mind. "But tell me, how would you open the last bottle? Because then you won't have another bottle to open it with." I asked.

"Like this." He said taking a bottle and putting it between between his teeth and popping it open.

"Wow. That was so hot." I said voicing my thoughts. The only thought that has been running through my head ever since we arrived here. "You're so hot."

"I am?" He said with a cheeky smile looking very pleased, and even more... drunk.

"Yes bro, totally! Autumn would be crazy not to choose you." I said slurring out my words. "You know what? We should... we should go cycling!" I suggested out of nowhere as I spotted a few cycles parked near the bottom of the hill.

"But that's stealing Kyle." Jason said following my gaze to find the cycles himself. What's that nick-name he's got for me? Oh what the hell! I like it!

"Not if we keep them back. Let's go Jay-Jay!" I said with a smile, pleased at the nick-name I came up with. This is the second time I'm using it, but it rolls off of my tongue like second nature; and I have a feeling I'll be using it a lot more. It's cute, totally suits Jason. I took his hand pulling him up and there we were, running down the hill, hand in hand, laughing our heads off.

We got down the hill, and the next thing we know we're cycling away on roads unknown, hand in hand, screaming, laughing, whistling; having the time of our lives. Honestly, I have never felt so alive. I felt like I could do anything or say anything, or be anyone I wanted to.

(A picture for your reference. On how I imagined the scene.)

I dot not know if it was the booze in my system, or the company I had, or was it the chilly air of a spring night that brought out the free spirit in me. Whatever it was, it felt magical.

Hey guys, it's me again. I absolutely loved writing this chapter, especially Cole's POV (though there wasn't much of it in this chapter). He's so dramatic, and I LOVE it!

I hope you enjoyed reading this chapter, as much as I enjoyed writing it. Don't forget to let me know what you think. As always, thanks for reading, and I love you all.
