Clones, mutants, & Weapon X

Lothal:

A transport slowly rumbled through the city, carrying a group of individuals who were said to be Imperial prisoners. Little did the public know, that these individuals were actually being transported because they had been exposed to a potent new chemical known as Chemical-X, created by Serena Patel. This experimental drug had triggered genetic changes in them, similar to what had happened to Spider-Man.

As a result of being exposed to the serum, these individuals gained extraordinary and often uncontrollable powers. Some had managed to gain a semblance of control over their abilities, while others remained dangerously unpredictable. They were sent to prison for rehabilitation, where there were initiatives in place to guide them in using their powers for the betterment of the Empire.

Most of the people on this transport were children of freedom fighters who had been arrested for alleged conspiracy. Among them was a devout believer in the Force, who had held strong religious convictions prior to undergoing the life-altering "experience."

Following his transformative experience, Kurt Wagner acquired a striking demon-like visage, complete with dark blue fur covering his body, jet-black hair, a prehensile tail reminiscent of a demon's, three fingers on each hand, two toes on each foot, and eyes that glow yellow without discernible pupils. This change was an unintended consequence of the serum, permanently altering his appearance.

However, his altered appearance came with an extraordinary new talent: the power to teleport himself, his attire, and a limited amount of additional mass in contact with him. He achieves this by momentarily shifting into an alternate dimension, traversing through it, and re-emerging in his original dimension at a distance from where he started, limited only by his line of sight. This ability rendered him nearly impossible to detain or contain, leading to his eventual relocation.

Locked in the cell opposite her brother was his sister, Anna Marie, also known as "Rogue." Her mutation had transformed her short auburn hair, now featuring striking white streaks across the bangs. Her grey eyes and pale complexion were often accentuated with shades of purplish-black makeup and lipstick.

Her mutation endowed her with a perilous gift surpassing her brother's. Rogue can siphon off someone's life essence via skin-to-skin contact, temporarily assimilating their memories, abilities, powers, and even a sliver of their personality. The duration of contact dictates how long she retains these acquired traits. However, prolonged contact risks inducing a coma or worse, death in others, which necessitated the Empire to fashion specialized gloves for her to wear perpetually.

The final member of the group in the vehicle was Scott Summers. He presented a distinctly masculine figure, with a V-shaped torso, wide shoulders, a firm square jaw, and well-defined musculature. His hair was neatly trimmed brown, and while his ruby quartz glasses concealed his eyes, it was speculated that they were either green or brown in color.

Scott's glasses were more than a fashion statement; they were a necessity. His unique physiology allowed him to absorb various forms of electromagnetic energy, including sunlight, and convert it into powerful, ruby-red beams of force that he could project from his eyes. The glasses helped to contain and control this formidable ability.

They reached the Imperial Prison, a facility specifically built to house the creatures birthed by the Empire's own hands. These were the creations labeled as failures, discarded by the Empire to ensure their experiments remained hidden from the world. In contrast, the beings considered valuable were whisked away to a different establishment, where they were groomed to serve as the Empire's warriors.

"Any powers used within this facility will result in discipline." The officer said as he and a squad of troopers marched the powered individuals down the hallway. They were then fitted with some sort of retrofitted dampening tech that would dampen their abilities. It would also track their location and be retrofitted for them specifically. Since every power is unique, every dampener is unique to its capabilities.

Being led down the halls, they were brought to their own cells where they were either partnered up with or on their own. Depending on their powers.

Scott sighed as he was still getting used to seeing the world through the Ruby quartz visor and sat down on the bed. He sighed and looked over around the room where he saw the dozens of other people in the cells. He saw how vastly different they all were. Some had minimal outside changes, some were so vastly different you couldn't tell what they were once.

"Hello there," Scott's roommate said, getting him to look and see it was a guy who it was. And what he saw was a woman a little older than him.

She is a tall African woman with white hair and blue eyes. She wears prison jeans, a blouse, golden earrings, like most of the other prisoners, and a hairband.

"My name is Ororo."

"Uh...Scott." Scott introduced himself. "What's your curse?"

"I can control certain elemental elements," Ororo informed him. "I only had a few times to practice it before they shipped me here."

"Why?" Scott asks.

"To see if the time comes when our curses become useful to them," Ororo proclaimed as she looked out. "All of us are here for small crimes. We're chosen because nobody would miss us. Or to punish our family who now believe we're dead."

"My brother..." Scott was worried about the only family he had left. "He's the only family I have. He...spoke out against the Empire on Coruscant."

"That would get anyone in here," Ororo commented with a sigh. "Don't even think about escaping. Two people tried. Only one managed to get out. And that was because he had a faulty dampener."

"You knew them?" Scott asks.

"I was one of the first," Ororo commented, just as their cell was shaken, as well as the entire floor.

"What the flark was that?" Scott asks.

"That would be the first of us all," Ororo commented, eyeing some sort of containment system that's separate from them. "The monster the Empire keeps in the basement."

"Someone worse than us?" Scott asks.

"You'd be surprised," Ororo said as she sighed. She then jumped up back on her bunk. "We're never leaving. Not unless they want us to."

"There aren't that many guards," Scott commented.

"It's not the Stormtroopers that you need to worry about," Ororo said as she lay down.

then in the distance, Scott could hear what sounded like mechanical whirring, followed by laser fire, and someone screaming. He trembled as he was beginning to understand what Ororo meant as he knew there was no way they were getting out.

"Welcome, Scott." A voice in his head said, getting Scott confused.

"W-who...who's there?" Scott asks.

"Shh. Be careful. These guys don't know they gave me a double power." The girl said in his head. "Names Jean. We're in this together. We look out for one another here."

The team, now back with the rebels, was hard at work repairing the Ghost, aiming for a quick getaway before the Empire could catch them. However, the damage was worse than they thought, with the probe droid having wreaked more havoc on the controls than they initially realized.

"The probe hit us pretty badly," Sabine commented on their comms. "Repairs are going to take a little while longer.

"We don't have much time," Kanan said from inside with everyone else. "There's no telling when the Empire will get here. We've got to get off the surface."

Peter sensed something, getting him to look and see a storm approaching. "Well, the Empire's not our only problem." He commented. "There's a storm coming up behind us."

"If the Empire gets here before we take off, that storm will be the least of our problems," Bucky commented.

"Here they are, the coordinates of every Republic base, Separatist installation, pirate hideout, and smuggler's den in the Outer Rim," Rex said as he handed the data disk to Gwen who slipped them up her sleeve.

"Plus a few Mandalorian bases that even they've forgotten about," Wolfe said.

"Thank you, Captain," Gwen said.

"Sure you won't come with us?" Ezra asks.

"Yeah, you're not bad in a fight." Zeb agreed. "I mean, for older gentlemen."

"Yeah." Rex sighed. "Like I said, our war's over, kid. Don't much care to get mixed up in another. Oh, and say hello to Commander Tano for me."

"But the Empire's on its way, and they will find you." Gwen reminded him,

"Oh, we can take care of ourselves," Rex promised.

"Spectre-1 to Spectre-2." Kanan tried to get into contact with Hera. "Gonna be down here a while longer. Give me some good news. Has the Empire showed up yet?"

"I'm a little busy finishing repairs on the Ghost, but Chopper's been scanning," Hera said as Chopper was on the controls, and BD was helping Hera fix the controls. "So far, nothing."

That's when Chopper bleeped, warning her something coming out of hyperspace. Hera and BD looked out the window where they spotted a Star Destroyer coming out of hyperspace.

"Just had to say that." Hera groaned. "Star Destroyer just came out of hyperspace. Gonna power down so they can't scan me. Once I finish my repairs, I'll come get you. Good luck down there." She then shut off the entire Ghost and left them floating as she looked at BD and Chopper. "Sorry, guys. That means you too."

"If they follow procedure, they'll fly search patterns based on our last confirmed position," Rex tells them, basically saying they might have some time.

"Or they'll call," Greggor said, seeing they were trying to contact them. "Incoming Imperial transmission. It's for you, Wolffe."

"They called back?" Wolffe was shocked to see. "They, they never call back."

"This is why I don't trust clones." Kanan scoffed.

"Yeah, you made it abundantly clear." Bucky scoffed.

"Just get rid of 'em, Wolffe," Ezra tells him.

"Yeah, it was my mistake," Wolffe admitted. "And I'll fix it."

Answering the call, it was none other than their favorite Imperial Agent Kallus. "CC-3636. Commander Wolffe, is it?"

Yep, that's me." Wolffe said in nervousness. "What can I do for you, sir?"

"Please transmit your coordinates so I can investigate the Jedi sightings you reported," Kallus asked.

"What? Uh, Je Jedi? Uh, no, no." Wolffe tried to stop them. "No, th- there's no Jedi. Here. My, my old, uh, cybernetic eye must be acting up again. Sorry for wasting your time."

"This image was taken by one of our probe droids," Kallus said, showing the image of the Phantom the probe droid managed to capture. "It clearly shows you harboring known rebels. Now surrender them or be destroyed."

Rex saw there was no point in denying it and stepped forward. "If it's a fight you want, I hope you brought a better class of soldier than those stormtroopers."

"They serve the Empire well, and I have a great many of them," Kallus promised.

"You're gonna need all of 'em," Rex promised, cutting off transmission.

"I like these guys," Bucky commented.

Then there was an alert on their perimeter as they were being fired upon. "They found us," Sabine warned as she ran inside.

"Guess that search pattern paid off," Gwen commented.

"Battle stations," Rex tells his crew.

They began reaching for their weapons while Peter was outside using his arms to create tendril shields to protect their current base. There was a lone TIE Fighter that was flying around them, trying to shoot them down.

"We're sitting Mynocks on this thing!" Ezra cried as he headed upward to the cannon.

"Think so?" Rex asked, carrying a cannon. "Wolffe, evasive maneuvers."

"Copy that," Wolffe said from the controls, turning away from the storm.

"Hurry! He's coming around for another pass." Sabine said, seeing the TIE was coming back around.

"Ezra, protect the Phantom," Kanan said as they drew their sabers.

"What about the walker?" Ezra asks.

"It can take a hit, I think," Kanan commented.

The TIE fighter circled back, firing relentlessly as the team struggled to bring it down. Peter found himself at a disadvantage; his webbing couldn't reach the distant target, and his tendrils were ineffective against its agile maneuvers.

"Try shortening your leads," Rex said as he came with a rocket launcher behind his back. "You're wasting ammo."

"You're welcome to help," Gwen commented, trying to use the web shooters Peter gave her.

"Eh, why spoil the fun?" Greggor asked as he came up. "We haven't been shot at in years."

"Yeah? Well, it happens to us every day." Sabine commented.

"Why doesn't someone man the big gun?" Bucky asked, gesturing to the gun.

"That's no good in this situation," Rex commented.

"Oh. Kinda like you guys." Kanan commented sarcastically.

Rex ignored his comment and looked over to Greggor. "You want the shot?" He asked, tossing the canon.

Greggor caught the cannon and chuckled. "Love to."

Greggor lined up his shot as the TIE fighter came back around. It didn't take long for him to lock on and fire a missile. The TIE was too close to maneuver away, and the missile struck it in the back, sending the vehicle crashing.

"Gregor, you've still got it." Rex complimented.

"It's in my blood," Greggor stated.

"You know, we'd make a good team if we all fought together instead of arguing with each other," Gwen commented.

"Yeah, tried that once," Kanan commented from the top of the Phantom. "Didn't work out so well." "Now let's focus on getting the Phantom operational." He said, gesturing to the storm approaching. "Because if that storm gets any closer, it'll ground us. Sabine, we need the Phantom to fly."

"I'm on it," Sabine said as she headed for the Phantom.

"I'll give you a hand." Gwen offered.

They began to try and get some distance between them and the storm while the girls repaired their shuttle so they could fly away. Rex approached the team as Ezra was in the seat of the cannon.

"Uh, sorry. Um, I'm in your seat." Ezra said and began to get out.

Rex however stopped him and gestured to the controls. "The traverse controls are over here on the left, and the elevation's on the right."

"Really?" Ezra asked, beginning to use the cannon controls to move around. "So, um, what was it like to fight in the Clone War?"

"I don't think the fighting ever got to Lothal," Rex commented. "I tell ya, war was never dull."

"Sounds like the one thing that's universal," Bucky commented, recommencing on his war days. "Back when I was under the Howling Commandos."

"Howling Commandos?" Ezra asked.

"It was the nickname we were given," Bucky explained. "Back in the day, everyone who had a squad would give themselves a name. We fought under the command of my best friend Captain Steve Rogers. I trusted him with my life more times than I can count."

Rex heard what Barnes said and remembered how he felt back in the Clone Wars fighting for what you believed in. "All right," Sabine said as she exited the Phantom. "With any luck, we can get outta here soon."

"We can't just leave Rex, Wolffe, and Gregor here." Ezra comments.

"Well, the Empire is here because of us," Rex said. "We'll deal with the consequences."

"Wait," Peter said, suddenly heard a thump. "Listen. You hear that?"

Peter leaped to the front of the Walker, noticing something approaching but unable to discern what it was. He enveloped himself in the Symbiote, enhancing his vision, and soon realized that Imperial Walkers were advancing towards them.

"We've got Walkers inbound!" Peter warned his friends.

"How many legs they got?" Rex asked as he and Greggor met Wolffe at the front.

"Looks like four," Wolffe commented, looking through the scope.

"Four? Well, how are they not falling over?" Rex asked, looking through the scope again.

"Will you look at the size of those things?" Greggor said.

"Reinforced armor plating, heavy cannons, and antipersonnel blasters." Rex listed off.

"I'm so happy you guys are so excited, but those death machines are on their way to blow us to bits!" Gwen warned them.

"Wolffe, set vector two-niner-zero," Rex said.

"Wait, you're just gonna turn and run?" Kanan asked. "Just like that?"

"Well, if you've got a better idea, Kanan, now's the time to speak up," Bucky said as he grabbed his rifle.

"I thought you clones loved to fight," Kanan commented.

"I do love a battle, but on my terms," Rex said as he took his seat in the cannon. "Gregor, drop the joopa. We gotta get moving."

"Oh," Greggor said as he entered the Walker and dropped the Joppa. "Bye-bye, Big Bongo."

"Wolffe, turn 180," Rex said.

"Copy that," Wolffe said as he started to move their walk.

The Walkers then began to open fire on them, getting the crew worried as they tried to outrun them. That was approximately when Gwen and Sabine came running out of the Phantom.

"Kanan. I'm not sure how far we'll get, but I think she'll fly." Sabine offered some good news.

"Good enough for me," Kanan stated. "Zeb, we're going now."

"Too late," Rex warned them. "The walkers are already on top of us."

"He's right, Kanan." Ezra agreed. "They'll shoot us down."

"How will going into that storm be any better?" Gwen wonders.

"Well, the storm will scramble the scanners," Sabine stated. "We'll all be blind."

"But a Jedi won't," Rex stated.

"Neither will we," Peter stated as he eyed Gwen. "Well, you wanted more training."

"I was hoping it would be less deadly," Gwen commented.

"Get used to it, kid," Bucky stated. "All right, everybody inside."

Everyone began to make their way downward into the Walker. They were about to enter the storm, meaning they were going to be cut off from Hera if she needed them, not that they were going to be much help anyway.

Speaking of Hera, she was busy working on the Ghost but was also running out of patience since she needed some help. She looked over to BD and Chopper and sighed.

"That's it. I can't wait any longer." Hera said as she then walked over and reactivated Chopper.

Chopper bleeped in anger at being shut down.

"Quiet." Hera shushed. "Quiet. They're right above us. They must have finished their initial scan, but I don't want to take any chances. Keep your power on low, and help me put this panel back together."

Chopper bleeped, saying he would be working slowly as Hera reactivated BD.

"Really?" Hera asked. "You won't be working much slower than you normally do."

"We're not gonna be able to hide in this storm forever," Bucky commented from inside the Walker. "The storm will eventually leave and we'll be vulnerable."

"I might know something to help," Gwen offered her inside knowledge. "Those AT-ATs are practically impervious to blasters, but they have one weak point in their armor: the neck."

"One well-placed shot from the main gun should destroy it," Greggor commented.

"That's all we might get, one shot," Rex added.

"I don't know how we're supposed to shoot something we can't see," Zeb commented, trying to get the scanners to look. "I don't even know where the enemy is."

"You don't always have to see something to know where it is," Kanan commented. "Peter's already proof of that."

"I don't know how well I can do with these winds," Peter added. "I'd not wanna take the risk with all of us and take our faith in this suit."

"Then that's settled," Kanan said as he turned to Rex. "If you're willing to trust me, I can get us that shot."

"I always trust my general," Rex promised.

Kanan then reached out and began to use the Force to pinpoint where they were. "Prepare to stop." He then waited a moment before feeling the moment come. "Now!"

Outside, Kallus has begun to make the AT-ATs circle themselves, trying to find them. Kanan was feeling what they were planning and was planning ahead of it.

"Commander Wolffe, circle left, double time," Kanan tells him. Wolffe obeys what he says, and Kanan keeps trying to pinpoint them. "Full stop! If what I'm sensing is right, we're surrounded."

"What?" Ezra asks.

"You put us right in the middle of 'em to get us a shot." Rex began to follow his plan. "It's crazy, but it's probably our best chance."

"Once we fire, we'll reveal our location," Sabine commented. "If we miss, it's all over."

"I'll take the shot." Greggor offered.

"No, Ezra should take the shot," Kanan said, eyeing Ezra.

"Uh, why don't you do it?" Ezra asked.

"Kanan's right." Bucky agreed. "We're going to need one Jedi up there manning the cannon. And another Jedi down here to lead us out of this mess. You are the only ones who can see in this storm."

"Peter, spot him," Kanan asked.

Peter nodded as he backed up and the Symbiote suit formed around his body as they headed out. As they did, Rex recognized Ezra was gonna need some help to at least get through the storm.

"Hey, kid," Rex called as he tossed his old helmet towards Ezra. "You might need that. And hang on tight."

Peter guided Ezra through the tumultuous storm, determined to reach the cannon. Despite the elemental chaos, the Symbiote granted Peter enhanced perception, allowing him to navigate through the tempest without exposing their position to the formidable AT-ATs. As the winds raged, Peter's augmented strength enabled him to stand firm, resisting the relentless force of nature. However, Ezra struggled against the powerful gusts, inching backward until Peter extended his tendrils to secure him.

"I got ya!" Peter cried as he dragged Ezra back as they reached the cannon. "Just do us all a favor, man... Don't miss."

"Hey, I never miss," Ezra stated.

He didn't see it, but Peter raised a brow, which in turn raised an eye socket in the mask. Deciding not to go any further, Peter made his way back inside of the Walker and let Kanan take over from there.

"Ezra, there's a walker somewhere around .5," Kanan said.

"Somewhere around .5?" Ezra asked in worry. "Terrific." He then began to move the cannon to match what he said, but the targeting wasn't much help. "Targeting scope's useless. I can't see it."

"It doesn't matter," Kanan said. "You're not going to see it with your eyes. The walker is there. Trust yourself.

Ezra then Megan followed and mimicked what Kanan did and used the force to begin to try and pinpoint the Walker out there. Removing his helmet, he began to trust in the Force to try and find it. When he felt he found it, he opened fire and the cannon made an impact, taking the AT-AT down.

"Got 'em!" Ezra cried.

"Wolffe, there's your opening," Kanan called. "Go for it!"

Hera was still working on the Ghost when she watched as the Star Destroyer began to move around. Worried they may have found them, she began to panic and turned to the droids.

"Hang on, hang on. Something's happening." Hera tells them. Then after a moment, the Destroyer jumped into Hyperspace. "This is either really good or really bad."

Chopper then grunted, saying he thought it was something bad.

"You would think "bad." Have you finished the last of the repairs?" Hera asks.

BD bleeped, showing he was finishing up.

"Well, get on it," Hera tells him.

"Great shot, kid," Rex said as they made it out of the storm. "Now get yourself moving. This is your only chance."

"What? We can't leave now." Ezra said, gesturing to the three AT-ATs exiting the storm.

"We have to get the information they gave us back to the rebellion." Kanan reminded him of the mission.

Everyone began to board the phantom, some of them were hesitant to leave but knew they needed to help the rebellion find themselves a base.

"The other part of that mission is to bring Rex back with us." Ezra reminded him. "We can't just abandon them."

"You're not abandoning anyone," Rex promises. "We're covering your escape. Now, move." He then ran and boarded the cannon. "We're soldiers, Ezra. This is what we were born to do."

The crew then made their way off to the Ghost while they still seemed hesitant to leave them behind. "Kanan, you know better than anyone. They won't give up." Ezra said. "This fight is gonna be their last."

"It's too bad about Captain Rex, but at least you got the intel," Hera said on the comms. "I'll rendezvous with you shortly."

"Copy that," Kanan said.

"Clones might have been pawns to the Empire... but if you ask me, the only real fault those guys had in the Clone Wars was they were loyal to their commanders," Gwen stated to the team. "The only reason they'd ever turn their back on their commander was if they were forced to."

"What are we gonna tell Ahsoka?" Peter wonders. "Rex was her friend, even though he was a clone."

Kanan heard all of their words and sighed. I hate it when you're right." He then started to turn the Phantom back towards the fight. "I've got my problems with clones, but I don't want those men to die."

Rex and his men were currently at a standoff against an AT-AT as they seemed to have rammed the front of it and were planning to go out swinging. But that was when the Phantom came down and Peter jumped out with Gwen as the two of them fell downward towards the AT-AT.

"Time to get in some swinging, just like I taught ya!" Peter tells Gwen, forming the Symbiote around him.

"When did you teach me that!?" Gwen asked.

"I didn't!" Peter stated, shooting out a web that latched onto the AT-AT and he swung off. "It was a joke." He then shot a web to latch onto the leg of the AT-AT. "For team building!"

"Your methods suck!" Gwen cried, shooting a web, hoping for it to work and she managed to latch onto the AT-AT. "I'm gonna die! I'm gonna die!" She cried, closing her eyes as she clung to the web, swinging and barely missing the ground as she swung over. "What?" She then saw she didn't hit the ground and cheered. "Whoo!"

"Nice, Gwen!" Peter cried as he spun around, wrapping the AT-AT legs. "Now, double tap to release, and thwip it out again!" He then showed her as he swung around, wrapping around the underbelly of the AT-AT. "Thwip and release."

"Thwip." Gwen cried as she shot out another web, swinging her around the AT-AT as she continued to wrap the machine's legs. "And release!"

Meanwhile, the rest of them landed on the second AT-AT, and Ezra and Kanan cut through the hull took out the two men controlling it and then shot at the AT-AT Peter and Gwen gift-wrapped for them. The clones then fired on the neck, taking the AT-AT down while the Troopers and Kallus got away on a speeder.

"Yeah, run you cowards." Peter snarled with a laugh.

"Just like the old days," Rex said to his brothers. "Looks like we live to fight another day."

"Don't we always?" Wolffe asked.

"Well, we do when we've got a Jedi leading us," Greggor said as they looked up to Kanan with pride.

Returning to their base, Ahsoka was eagerly awaiting for their return. And Rex was more than eager to make. Reunion with Ahsoka.

"Commander," Rex said upon seeing Ahsoka. "You got old."

Ahsoka laughed at that comment. "Had to happen sometime, Rex." She then pulled him in for a hug.

"I'm glad you're still alive," Rex said as he returned the gesture.

"You too," Ahsoka said as she broke off the hug.

"Well, I wouldn't be if it weren't for these guys," Rex said, gesturing to the rebels.

"Thank you for trusting my friend," Ahsoka said.

"It wasn't easy," Kanan said. "It's still not."

"Nothing worth doing ever is," Ahsoka commented. She then waited for them to leave as Bucky was the last one behind. "So..."

Bucky only gave her an almost bland but still mad look. "I saw what you were doing."

"I don't know what you're talking about," Ahsoka said as she walked down the halls.

"So, this friend you wanted me to meet just happened to be a soldier, who had been experimented on to turn against the people he loved, and it wasn't a setup for anything?" Bucky asked her. "I know what you're up to."

"If I did think like that, then maybe I thought you two could have a lot in common," Ahsoka said.

"Trust me, he had been forced. I could have fought what happened to me," Bucky stated. "I was weak."

"So was Rex," Ahsoka informed Bucky. "He almost killed me when Order 66 happened. It took work to get him past what happened. And I know you can get past what happened to you." She then took her hands into his. "I don't believe in chance, but I have a feeling you found be for a reason."

"And what reason could that be? To have you fix me?" Bucky asked.

Ahsoka sighed as she leaned closer and pecked his cheek. "To tell you there's nothing about you that needs to be fixed."

Bucky found himself at a loss for words and unsure of what to do. Ahsoka gracefully made her way down the hallway, drawing Bucky's gaze as she walked towards the control room with the others. His mind was a whirlwind of confusion as he tried to make sense of the situation.

As he snapped out of his trance, he noticed Sam and Scott giving their approving nods. Bucky couldn't help but scoff at their understanding and walked away, feeling the weight of uncertainty settle on his shoulders. His thoughts were in disarray, and he found himself reflecting on the concept of love, a feeling that seemed distant and faded from his wartime experiences.

Far from their main headquarters, Fury and Talos dispatched a small team to the planet Lothal based on information from Tua. She had informed them about a top-secret project sought after by the Emperor. While she wasn't privy to the specifics, the limited knowledge about the project's immense power warranted utmost secrecy.

The team included Yelena, Andor, Jyn, Lady Sif, and Heimdall. While Andor and Yelena observed, a cohort of troopers convened with officials at the training facility where cadets were groomed.

"They're so proud of themselves," Andor scoffed at the sight. "So fat and satisfied."

"I don't know, the guy on the right looks a little lanky to me," Yelena said, getting Andor to give her a stink eye. "I'm joking." She laughed. "I know this mission is important, but smile once in a while, Andor. Otherwise, we might as well be like one of them. We're just missing the dumb helmets and armor that's useless."

Andor then looked back into his visor as he eyed the troops who were heading off to a specific project that they were going to be told of. "They take our money and our resources, promising to improve our lives but they just steal what's rightfully ours, and give nothing in return."

"Sounds like the IRS." Yelena joked. Andor gave her another stink eye, but that was more on the fact he didn't get the reference. "I really have to get you to lighten up."

Heimdall was with Sif as they hid in the remains of Ezra's old homestead. He was studying the stone around Jyn's neck and was trying to discover what kind of power it holds.

"I am not sure what kind of Stone this is, but believe me, it is no Kyber Crystal. This is indeed an infinity stone." Heimdall said as he gave it back to Jyn. "You should keep it hidden. You can never tell who can sense its power."

"I'll keep it safe," Jyn promised.

Meanwhile, Serena was working on the numerous weapon experiments the Empire demanded with her new X-Serum. She observed as the latest experiment finally began to show signs of success. Using fragments of old cloning DNA she had obtained, combined with the X-Serum, she created something potentially as dangerous as Weapon XI.

The subject that was used for this experiment was an earlier model, and the researcher aimed to engineer the ultimate soldier. Their goal was to create a soldier who could withstand any attack without succumbing to injuries. Given the unavailability of a healing mutant with the necessary resources, the researcher chose to incorporate Mandalorian Armor into the subject's body. This armor, made of Beskar steel, was applied to coat the subject's bones, rendering them virtually indestructible.

As part of the enhancement, the subject's knuckles were embedded with three retractable claws. Initially, Serena considered the experiment a failure. However, to their astonishment, the subject unexpectedly revived. It was an extraordinary occurrence, and the researcher was awe-struck to witness the subject not only surviving but also exhibiting ferocious and relentless fighting capabilities. The resulting creature appeared to be nearly invincible, posing a formidable challenge to any opposition.

"Mr. Logan," Serena said, using her arms to make her way toward the strapped-up Weapon X. "You and I have so many things to discuss..."

The Weapon X snarled at her as he tried to pry himself free of the straps he was being held by that once held Count Doku.

"Save your energy, because I am going to use you... to kill... Spider-Man." Serena stated.
