A Few Days Later

The City of Vale

Ruby: Blaaaake!

Yang: Blaaaake!

Following the fight she had with Weiss, Blake disappeared. She hadn't returned to their room at Beacon for a few days which caused her team to go out and search for her.

In the city, Ruby, Weiss, Yang, and Y/N, continued their search for their missing friend.

(Y/N): Blaaaaake!

Ruby: Blaaaaake! Where aaaare youuuuu!?

Yang: Blake!

All except Weiss were shouting for Blake.

Ruby: Weiss, you're not helping!

Weiss: Oh! You know who might be able to help? The police!

Ruby: Ugh, Weiss...

Weiss: It was just an idea!

Ruby: Yeah, a bad one.

Yang: Weiss, I think we should hear her side of the story before we jump to an conclusions.

Weiss: I think that when we hear it, you'll all realize I was right!

(Y/N): Maybe we should try looking around the docks?

Ruby: You know, Y/N, you didn't have to come.

(Y/N): I want to. I hate seeing you guys so down.

Yang: Thanks Y/N.

(Y/N): That and out of all of you guys, Blake is a hell of a lot more tame.

Yang: I'll take that as a compliment!

Weiss: You shouldn't...

Yang stuck her tongue out at Weiss, causing her to roll her eyes.

(Y/N): The sooner we find her the sooner we can leave the city.

Ruby: You don't like Vale?

(Y/N): No, I like the city, it's just... so far every time I've been in the city something crazy happ-

Penny: Hey guys!

(Y/N): Aaaah!

Penny spontaneously appeared behind Y/N, causing him to jump into Yang's arms.

Ruby: Aaaah! Penny! Where did you come from!?

Penny gave the group a cheerful smile.

Penny: Hello again! What you guys up to?

Ruby: Uhh...

Yang dropped Y/N onto the floor.

(Y/N): Ouch.

Yang: We're looking for our friend Blake.

Penny: Ooooh, you mean the Faunus girl!

Ruby, Weiss, Yang, and Y/N stared at Penny.

(Y/N): ...What?...

Ruby: Wait, how did you know that?

Penny: Uhh, the cat ears?

Yang: What cat ears? She was a... bow...

Silence covered the group as a tumbleweed bounced by.

(Y/N): Blake is a Faunus!?

Ruby: She does like tuna a lot...

(Y/N): ...Is she a duck Faunus?

SMACK

(Y/N): Ow...

Yang dusted off her hands.

(Y/N): You enjoy doing that, don't you?

Yang: Hmm. Maybe a little.

Penny: So, where is Blake?

Ruby: We don't know. She's been missing since Friday.

Penny gasped.

Penny: That's terrible!

Penny grabbed Ruby, who was now regretting telling Penny anything.

Penny: Well, don't you worry Ruby, my friend! I won't rest until we find you teammate!

Ruby: Uh, that's really nice of you, Penny, but we're okay! Really! Right, guys?

Ruby looked to her teammates and only Y/N was there, who was just as surprised as Ruby at their sudden absence.

(Y/N): Whoa, what? Where did they-

Penny grabbed Y/N.

(Y/N): Gah!

Penny: Let's work together to find your friend!

The wind picked up again, causing another tumbleweed to bounce in the other direction.

(Y/N): Is that the same tumbleweed from the Forever Fall Forest?

Sun: So, what's the plan now?

Blake: I still don't believe the White Fang is behind these robberies. They've never needed that much Dust before.

After running away, Blake ran into the very same Faunus with the monkey-tail from the docks. Introducing himself as Sun Wukong, Sun convinced Blake to try and learn the truth behind the recent string of Dust robberies.

Sun: What if they did? i mean... the only way to prove that they didn't do it, is to go to the place where they would most likely go to if there were to do it, and not find them there! Right?

Blake: The only thing is, I've no idea where that would be.

Sun: Well, while I was on the ship, I heard some guys talking about offloading a huge shipment of Dust coming in from Atlas.

Blake: How huge?

Sun: Huge. Big Schnee Company freighter.

Blake: You're sure?

Continuing their search, Ruby, Penny, and Y/N, walked through the streets looking for Blake.

Penny: So, Blake is your friend?

Ruby: Yes, Penny.

Penny: But you're mad at her?

Ruby: Yes. Well, I'm not. Weiss is.

Penny: Is she friends with Blake?

Ruby: Well, that's kind of up in the air right now...

(Y/N): To be fair, I'm pretty sure Weiss is mad at everyone.

Ruby: True.

Penny: But why is she made at Blake?

Ruby: Well, you see, Blake might not be who we thought she was...

Penny gasped.

Penny: Is she a man?

(Y/N): Cease those thoughts!

Ruby: No, Penny! She's... I don't know what she is. She didn't exactly talk to us before she decided to run off.

Penny: I don't have a lot of friends, but if I did, I would want them to talk to me about things.

Ruby: Me too...

(Y/N): Except for that "Blake being a man" thing. We don't need to talk about that.

Penny chuckled before punching Y/N in the back of the head.

SMACK

(Y/N): Ow!

Penny: You're a good friend, Y/N!

Ruby: Aaah! Penny!

Ruby ran to Y/N, who was face down on the pavement.

Ruby: Penny! We don't punch our friends!

Penny: But Yang did it? And isn't she a friend too?

Ruby: That's different!

(Y/N): (mumble) Ruby...

Ruby: Yes, Y/N?

(Y/N): (mumble) We need to talk about the "friendship" that we have...

Ruby: Sorry!

Late-Evening

City of Vale Docks

Blake was hiding on the roof of a warehouse overlooking the docks that the Schnee freighter was docked at. She and Sun had decided to stake out the area in order to find out if the White Fang really are behind the Dust robberies.

Sun: Did I miss anything?

Sun hopped up to where Blake was and hid along with her.

Blake: Not really, they've offloaded the crates from the boat. Now they're just sitting there.

Sun: Cool. I stole you some food!

Sun held out an apple.

Blake: Do you always break the law without giving a second thought?

Sun: Hey, weren't you in a cult or something?

Blake angrily glared at Sun.

Sun: Okay, too soon!

Moments later a drop-ship flew low overhead and began to hover above the Dust shipping containers. After finding a place to land, the ship opened up and people began to file out.

Blake: Oh no...

Sun: Is that them?

Blake could see the people who were collecting the Dust were member of the White Fang.

Blake: Yes... it's them.

White Fang Member: (in the distance) All right, grab the tow cables!

Sun: You really didn't think they were behind it, did you?

Blake stared sadly at the people at the docks.

Blake: No. I think deep down I knew. I just didn't want to be right.

Stepping out of the drop-ship, a familiar person began to give orders.

Roman: Hey! What's the holdup!? We're not exactly the most inconspicuous bunch of thieves at the moment, so why don't you animals try to pick up the pace?

Blake narrowed her eyes.

Blake: This isn't right. The White Fang would never work with a Human. Especially not one like that.

Blake unsheathed her weapons and jumped off toward the group of thieves.

Sun: Hey, what are you doing!?

Blake landed on the ground and snuck up toward Roman, using the containers as cover.

Roman: No, you idiot! This isn't a leash!-

Roman was cut-off when Blake appeared behind up with a blade at his throat.

Roman: What the- Oh, for f-

Blake: Nobody move!

The members of the White Fang trained their weapons on the intruder.

Roman: Whoa! Take it easy there, little lady.

Blake removed her bow to reveal her Faunus ears to those around her.

Blake: Brothers of the White Fang! Why are you aiding this scum?

Roman: Oh, kid, didn't you get the memo?

Blake: What are you talking about?

Roman: The White Fang and I are going on a joint business venture together!

Blake held the blade closer to Roman's neck.

Blake: Tell me what it is or I'll put an end to your little operation.

Suddenly, the sound of more drop-ships filled the air and hovered around Blake.

Roman: I wouldn't exactly call it a little operation...

While Blake was distracted, Roman fired his cane at her feet causing an explosion.

Ruby, Penny, and Y/N, all turn in unison when they heard the explosion coming from the dock.

Ruby: Oh, no...

(Y/N): Maybe, for once, the sounds of explosions don't have anything to do with us?

Ruby looked at Y/N.

Ruby: ...Really?

(Y/N): *sigh* I can dream can't I?

Blake, though dazed, jumped out of the way when Roman began to unleash a flurry of attacks at her. Dodging the attacks, Blake made some distance between herself and Roman and hid behind a shipping container.

After making sure Blake was no longer near him, Roman took a few glances around.

Roman: If she's here... Then maybe...

Roman pulled out his Scroll and tapped a contact on it. After waiting a moment a message came back.

Scroll: All ready here.

Roman smirked before putting it away.

Roman: Here, kitty, kitty, kitty...

Sun: Leave her alone!

Sun jumped out from above and pushed Roman back.

Roman recovered and glared at the kid as more White Fang members descended from the drop-ships overhead.

Roman: You're not the brightest banana in the bunch, are you, kid?

Roman wordlessly motioned for the White Fang to attack causing Sun to fight off his attackers.

Not too far off, Ruby, Penny, and Y/N, approached the docks from the city. Hearing the sound of gunfire, Ruby held up her hand to stop Penny and Y/N.

Ruby: You guys should stay here, it could get dangerous and I don't want you to get hurt.

Penny: Don't worry Ruby! I'm combat ready!

(Y/N): And I am horrified!

Ruby: Just stay here you two.

Ruby rushed off toward the docks, leaving her companions behind.

(Y/N): What now?

Penny began to follow behind Ruby.

Penny: You stay here, I'll go help Ruby.

Soon Penny left, leaving Y/N alone.

Y/N sighed and peeked at the explosions going off further down the docks.

(Y/N): Why does everyone have an affinity for explosions?... This can't be normal, right?

Y/N looked at the girl with brown and pink hair, who was with him.

The girl shrugged as she wordlessly agreed with Y/N's observation.

(Y/N): ... Gah!

Realization finally hit Y/N, making him jump in surprise.

(Y/N): Holy crap! Who are you?

The girl gave a smile and waved hello to Y/N.

(Y/N): Who just sneaks up on someone without saying anything!?

The girl gave a deadpan look.

(Y/N): ...What?... Oh you can't talk? ...Then how about...

Y/N began to use sign language.

(Y/N): (In Sign Language) Is this okay?

The girl smiled in surprise.

Neo: (In Sign Language) You understand sign language?

(Y/N): Yeah, I know a lot of languages actually. Though, I don't think they'll be useful here...

Neo: (In Sign Language) It's very nice to find someone that can actually understand sign language, not a lot of others ever learn it.

(Y/N): It is pretty rare huh?

Neo: (In Sign Language) We can talk more when I take you back!

(Y/N): ...What?

Neo: (In Sign Language) You're coming with me!

Y/N stared at Neo for a moment.

(Y/N): (In Sign Language) No I'm not.

Neo: (In Sign Language) Yes you are!

Neo used her Semblance to make Y/N think she was still standing in front of him. While he was distracted, Neo appeared behind Y/N and used her umbrella to strike the back of his head.

Neo giggled to herself as she celebrated an easy job, only for her to be surprised when she didn't feel her umbrella hit Y/N. Taking a second look, Y/N had tilted his head to the right, avoiding her umbrella.

(Y/N): Q_Q Could we not do this?

Neo raised an eyebrow.

Neo moved her umbrella to strike at Y/N, only for him to dodge it again.

(Y/N): Eeep!

Neo became annoyed and started to try and hit Y/N, unfortunately for her...

(Y/N): *dodge* Please! *dodge* Mercy! *dodge* Oh come on! *dodge*

She never hit.

Neo jumped back at took a second look at Y/N.

Neo: (In Sign Language) Who are you?

(Y/N): In over his head.

Neo looked at Y/N angrily before jumping in again.

Fruitlessly, Neo kept trying to hit Y/N only for him to dodge it. She even began to use her Semblance to try and confuse him, but each time, Y/N would always somehow now where she was.

(Y/N): This is your final warning, please stop.

Neo ignored him. Clearly he knew more about running away than actually fighting. While irritating, she would bring him in evetually.

(Y/N): Alright, you asked for it.

Neo continued to ignore him. What could he do? He wasn't even a Huntsman-in-training. She would-

SMACK

Neo felt something hit her in the side, seconds later, she found herself flying toward a bunch of barrels.

Neo slammed into the barrels and fell to the ground. Neo began to cough as the rush of pain sudden caught up with her.

(Y/N): I didn't want to do that, but you left me no choice. Just stop.

Neo couldn't understand what just happened. One second she had this kid on the ropes, the next, she was sent flying into a bunch of barrels. Neo looked at her would-be kidnapping target in confusion.

(Y/N): ...What?...

Neo grit her teeth and charged forward again. Watching her opponent carefully, she would make sure to read his mov-

SMACK

Neo felt something on the other side of her body, this time she tumbled and slammed into he side of a shipping container.

(Y/N): Okay, you need to stop now.

Neo didn't see anything. 

Did he move? How did I not see anything? These thoughts were rushing through Neo's mind before the pain began to overwrite those thoughts and she gripped her side.

(Y/N): Okay, you're clearly outmatched here, just stop and surrend- Gah!

Y/N was cut off when the bright lights of a drop-ship flew overhead.

Neo took the opportunity to force herself to jump aboard and escape.

When the light moved away, Y/N watched the drop-ship fly off.

On board the drop-ship, Neo slumped onto a seat and gripped her side. Roman looked surprised at the beaten Neo.

Roman: What happened?

Neo grabbed her Scroll and sent a message.

Neo (message): Who is that guy really?

Roman read the message before looking back at Neo who was panting from the pain.

A Little While Later

Eventually, the police showed up in response to reports of gunfire and explosions coming from the docks.

Y/N made his way toward the police cars and spotted his companions.

(Y/N): Hey guys!

Ruby, Blake, Sun, and Penny, were sitting on boxes together, near where the police were gathered.

Ruby: Y/N! You're okay!

(Y/N): Yep! How are you guys?

Ruby: We're...

Ruby looked at Blake.

Blake: We're okay.

Sun: Oh hey, you're that guy from earlier! The "buns" guy!

(Y/N): Please don't call me that...

Sun: Nice to meet you "Bun Guy"! My name's Sun! Sun Wukong!

(Y/N): It's Y/N and nice to meet you.

Sun: Right, "Bun Guy"!

(Y/N): -_-

Coming around the corner were Yang and Weiss.

Ruby looked at Weiss as she approached.

Ruby: Look Weiss, it's not what you think, she explained the whole thing. See, she doesn't actually have a bow, she had kitty ears and their actually kind of cute...

Weiss ignored her and stood in front of Blake.

Blake: Weiss, I want you to know that I'm no longer associated with the White Fang. Back when I was with the-

Weiss: Stop! Do you have any idea how long we've been searching for you?

Blake looked at her is surprise.

Weiss: Twelve hours!

Blake: I'm-

Weiss: That's a full day where Y/N didn't make us anything!

(Y/N): I would like to formally state, that I would like to review our friendship.

Weiss ignored him.

Weiss: That means I've had twelve hours to think about this. And I've decided...

Everyone looked at Weiss, worried.

Weiss: I don't care.

Blake was surprised.

Blake: You don't care?

Weiss: You said you're not one of them anymore, right?

Blake: No, I-I haven't been since I was younger-

Weiss: Ah-bah-bah-bah! I don't what to hear it. All I want to know is that the next time something this big comes up... you'll come to us.

(Y/N): Maybe you could leave me out?

Weiss: All of us!

(Y/N): -_-

Weiss: And not...

Weiss looked at Sun.

Weiss: Someone else.

Blake wiped a tear from her eye.

Blake: Of course.

Ruby: Yeah! Team RWBY is back together!

(Y/N): I am uncertain if this is a good or a bad thing...

Weiss: To celebrate, Y/N! You are going to bake us your best cake!

Yang: Yeah!

(Y/N): Wait, what!?

Weiss looked at Sun, who was nervously rubbing his arm.

Weiss: And some banana bread for him.

Sun: Hey, that's stereotyping! But yes, I'll take one.

(Y/N): Could you at least say "please"?

Weiss: I wasn't asking.

(Y/N): Q_Q Maybe I should have let that woman take me...

Ruby: Hey, wait a minute... Where's Penny?

Unbeknownst to the group, Penny was picked up by someone in a darkened limo.

Limo Driver: You should know better than to go running around in a strange city.

Penny: I know, sir.

Penny lowered her head in sadness.

Limo Driver: Penny, your time will come...

Ozpin's Office

Ozpin looked over toward the city, he could see the faint column of smoke rising from the docks.

Behind him was his computer displaying the fight Ruby had as well as the very short one Y/N had. 

To the side of Y/N's feed was a meter displaying his Aura level, stating that it was increasing slowly.

Ozpin: Hmmm...

Abandoned Warehouse

Roman: Damnit!!

Roman angrily slammed his fist onto a table. Looking to his right, Roman saw Neo who was still nursing her wounds.

Roman: Damn brats...

Cinder: How very disappointing, Roman.

Roman and Neo's attentions were suddenly brought toward the voice. Cinder returned with Emerald and Mercury in tow.

Roman: Whoa! I uh... I wasn't expecting to see you guys so soon...

Cinder: I expected more from you.

Roman: It's not my fault! Those brats from Beacon-

Roman silenced himself when he saw the flames flying off of Cinder's eyes.

Cinder: I don't want to hear your excuses.

Roman: Tch... We ran into that kid you were asking about earlier.

Cinder: Really?

Cinder looked around.

Cinder: And where is he?

Roman looked at Neo, who shrunk in shame.

Cinder looked at the ice cream colored girl, expecting an answer. Neo grabbed her phone.

Neo: (Message) Who is he?

Cinder: Someone of great interest to us. Now, where is he?

Roman: He's at Beacon Academy. Apparently, he's student there.

Emerald: Beacon? How are we supposed to get him now?

Cinder smiled at the question.

Cinder: We don't have to, thanks to the little errand we ran, he'll come to us...
