One Week Later

Beacon Academy

Jaune was walking through one of the many hallways of Beacon Academy, having just finished class, he was making his way to the lunch room.

Jaune: *sigh* I wonder what's for lunch today?...

As he was thinking, Jaune wasn't paying attention when someone grabbed him from the back of his shirt collar.

Jaune: Gah!!

Cardin: What's up, Jauney Boy?

Jaune: H-hi Cardin.

Catching Jaune by surprise, all of team CRDL surrounded Jaune, each with a smirk on their faces.

Cardin: On your way to your next class, Jauney Boy?

Jaune: Uh, yeah?

Cardin chuckled.

Cardin: I guess I should help you get your things from your locker, shouldn't I?

Jaune: N-no, no! I can... get it myself.

Cardin glared at Jaune.

Cardin: Are you denying my "kindness"!?

Jaune: No! No! I'll... gladly take your help... *sigh*

Cardin: Great!

Cardin dragged Jaune to his locker, many of the other students gave a wide birth to them as they walked.

Cardin: Well, Jauney Boy, you know the drill.

Jaune: *sigh* Yeah, I know...

The second Jaune answered, Cardin shoved him into his locker and slammed it shut.

Cardin: Hahaha! Man, I should make this an art!

Team CRDL laughed with each other as they left Jaune alone in his locker.

Jaune: *sigh*

After a moment of silence someone spoke up.

(Y/N): Hey Jaune.

Jaune: Huh? Y-Y/N is that you?

(Y/N): Yep, I'm in the locker next to you.

Jaune: Oh. Cardin got you too, huh?

(Y/N): Yep. About, ten minutes before you.

Jaune: *sigh* Again, sorry about Cardin, I know you're new here and all...

(Y/N): Eh, it's not too bad. I mean, at least he put us in the large lockers this time.

Jaune: Oh, yeah.

(Y/N): Besides, it's either this or more "combat training" with team RWBY. And to be honest, this is considerably less painful...

Jaune: You're taking combat training with Ruby and the others?

(Y/N): "Combat training" is too nice, it's more like, them beating me until they get tired. I mean, I know they mean well, but it still hurts, a lot...

Jaune: Yeesh, I'm sorry...

(Y/N): Still doesn't hurt as much as when Weiss gives me "constructive criticism".

Jaune: *sigh* People like us can never win, huh?

(Y/N): What do you mean?

Jaune: I mean, everyone just pushes us around and there's nothing we can do about it.

(Y/N): I wouldn't call what team RWBY is doing as being malicious—except maybe Weiss—they really want me to improve.

Jaune: Well, what about Cardin? Him and his team constantly treat people like they're trash and there's nothing we can do about it!

(Y/N): Going to the teachers about it generally seems to work.

Jaune: That doesn't change anything! He always just goes back to treating others like garbage! I wish... I wish I wan't so weak!

(Y/N): ...

Jaune: I wish I wasn't so helpless! I wish I could fight back!

Jaune was brought out of his anger when the locker door opened up, revealing Y/N.

(Y/N): You don't want to go down that path, Jaune. Nothing good ever comes out of it.

Jaune: How did you get out of you locker?

(Y/N): I was actually pushing on the locker door for a while, and it eventually just opened!

Jaune: Oh, well, thanks.

Y/N helped Jaune out of his locker and they both began to walk toward the cafeteria.

Jaune: Y/N...

(Y/N): Yeah?

Jaune: Coming from one little guy to the other, don't you wish you could fight back?

(Y/N): Fight back?

Jaune: You know, against Cardin and his team?

(Y/N): What would fighting back get me?

Jaune: I don't know... Maybe they'll stop bullying us, stop bullying others, and maybe we can get some respect?

Y/N stopped and turned to face Jaune.

(Y/N): Alright, let's pretend that we have the strength to really beat Cardin and his team up, in fact, let's say we were the strongest in the academy.

Jaune: Okay.

(Y/N): Now, let's say we beat Cardin and his team up, what then?

Jaune: I don't know... We wouldn't be bullied anymore, right?

(Y/N): Then the rest of the school would see us as the bully.

Jaune: What!? But Cardin-

(Y/N): If we start letting our base desires govern how we use our power, how are we any different than Cardin?

Jaune grew more distressed as he thought about it.

Jaune: I... I don't... I don't know...

Y/N sighed.

(Y/N): It takes more than strength and combat prowess to be a good Huntsman, it takes a good heart.

Jaune: A good heart?

(Y/N): It sounds crazy cheesy, but it's true. Intense training and determination can get you strength and combat skills, but to have a good heart? That is a completely different story.

Jaune: How does having a good heart stop Cardin from bullying me?

(Y/N): It doesn't.

Jaune: Then what's the point?

(Y/N): There will come a time when you'll have to face down a monster that can and will kill you in order to protect someone or something.

Jaune swallowed.

(Y/N): Someone like Cardin would cower and hide in a heartbeat.

Jaune: I don't see how-

(Y/N): Someone like you, Jaune... Someone like you would stand there and stare down that monster.

Jaune went quiet.

(Y/N): There could be no chance of victory for you, but I know you would still face down that monster without hesitation. You have a good heart Jaune, while others don't know it, I do.

Jaune: H-how do you know that?

(Y/N): Just trust me on this. You're stronger than you give yourself credit for.

Y/N gave Jaune a quick smile before continuing on toward the lunch room.

(Y/N): Come on let's go! It's pizza day!

Jaune looked at his hands before looking back at Y/N.

Jaune: Yeah... Let's go.

Beacon Academy Cafeteria

After getting their food Jaune and Y/N made their way to where Ruby and the others were eating.

Ruby: Hey guys!

Jaune: Hey Ruby.

(Y/N): Hello.

Jaune looked around the table noticing someone was missing.

Jaune: Where's Pyrrha?

Pyrrha: Right behind you, Jaune.

Jaune: Oh!

The three students sat down at the table and began to enjoy their lunches.

Yang: Where were you earlier? You missed you combat training.

(Y/N): Uh... Cardin shoved me in a locker...

Weiss: Again!?

Ruby patted Y/N on the back.

Ruby: It's okay Y/N, we'll get you buffed up in no time.

Weiss: What a strange coincidence. This is the third time Cardin shoved you in a locker when you were supposed to be at combat training!

(Y/N): *sweats*

Weiss: You aren't using Cardin as an excuse to get out of training, are you?

(Y/N): Psh no... Of course not!.... nope....

Yang: That's alright, we can "Triple-Time" it after lunch!

(Y/N): Q_Q

???: H-Hey! That hurts!

The two teams' lunches were interrupted when they heard someone cry out in pain. Turning around, the teams saw Cardin and his team teasing a faunas-girl with brown long hair and bunny ears.

Cardin: See? I told you they were real.

Cardin was pulling on the rabbit ear of the girl causing her pain.

Pyrrha: Atrocious.

Blake: People like Cardin don't belong here.

Jaune: I wish some one would-

Right as Jaune was about to suggest something, Y/N appeared next to Cardin holding his tray of pizza.

(Y/N): Hi Cardin.

Cardin looked at Y/N.

Cardin: What do you want, coward?

Without any hesitation, Y/N flung his food at Cardin, causing the food to coat his face and armor. This caused Cardin to let go of the girl's ear.

Cardin: ...You're dead, you know that, right?

(Y/N): ...Yep.

In a split second, Y/N began to run away and out the front door to the cafeteria.

Cardin: Get him!

Cardin, along with his team, chased after Y/N in close pursuit.

Ruby: Yeah, go Y/N! I guess our training is paying off!

Weiss: Wait a second, he is using Cardin to get out of training!

Yang: Hey, you're right! Quickly, we can't let him get away!

Team RWBY jumped to their feet and rushed after Y/N.

Ren: Wow, he really has it rough...

Nora: I'll say! Who do you think will beat him up more? Cardin or RWBY?

Ren: A good question...

As team JNPR watched Y/N get chased out, the faunas girl also watched Y/N.

A Little While Later

Beacon Academy Library

Pyrrha entered Beacon Academy's massive Library, while not quite as large as the Vale Public Library, it was still very expansive. The building was filled with students from different years and classes, each of them busily working on their own separate projects.

Pyrrha herself wasn't here for schoolwork, in fact, she was looking for someone. She made her way through the library, carefully making sure that she didn't miss anyone that was there. Eventually, she came across a single student sitting alone in an unoccupied area of the library.

The student was sitting alone reading a copy of the book "Ninjas of Love" which was obstructing their face. After taking a moment to make sure that it was the person she was looking for, she had a slight smile and began to walk over to them.

Pyrrha: Interesting book you have there.

Definitely not (Y/N): Uhh... I think you have the wrong person ma'am.

Pyrrha: Really?

The moment the student brought down the book Pyrrha had to use all the willpower she had to keep herself from bursting out in laughter.

Definitely not (Y/N): It's rude to laugh at a person's appearance ma'am.

It was clearly Y/N, but with a fake Professor Port mustache on.

Pyrrha: Pfft! What is that?

Definitely not (Y/N): This is my facial hair!

Pyrrha couldn't take it anymore and began to burst out in laughter.

Pyrrha: Hahaha!

Definitely not (Y/N): Hey, don't laugh at it. Q_Q

Pyrrha: Where... haha!... Where did you even get that? Hahaha!

Y/N took off the mustache and placed it on the table.

(Y/N): From Professor Port. He gives them out for free if you visit his office.

Pyrrha: And you got one?

(Y/N): He has a huge crate of them in the back of his office, he gave me... like... twelve?

Pyrrha: Why were you wearing it?

(Y/N): To escape Cardin and team RWBY... mostly team RWBY.

Pyrrha: And it worked?

Thirty Minutes Earlier

Team RWBY was running through the library, looking for Y/N.

Yang: He went this way!

Blake: He couldn't have gotten far!

Weiss: I can't believe we have to chase this idiot around.

Ruby: Hey let's ask someone if they've seen him!

The four Huntresses-in-training came to a quick stop and tapped the shoulder of a nearby student.

Ruby: Excuse me, have you seen the new student come by here?

The student turned around.

Definitely not (Y/N): Oh yes! The handsome one right? He went... That way!

The student pointed in a direction.

Weiss: Hey... you look familiar.

Definitely not (Y/N): *sweats* Nope! This is the first time we've met! I'm just a regular student with amazing facial hair!

The four huntresses looked at the student for a moment, causing the disguised Y/N to worry more.

Ruby: Hmmm.... Makes sense to me! Thanks!

Team RWBY dashed off in the direction that Y/N pointed to, much to his relief.

Present Time

Pyrrha: Wow, I can't believe that it worked.

(Y/N): Neither can I.

Pyrrha: Well, I actually wanted to thank you.

(Y/N): About?

Pyrrha sat down on the other side of the table.

Pyrrha: About what you said to Jaune. You know, before lunch?

(Y/N): Oh, you heard that?

Pyrrha: I did. I had heard that Cardin caught Jaune again, so I was making my way to his locker to get him out, since that's usually where Cardin throws him.

(Y/N): Happens that often?

Pyrrha: Yeah... But what you told him, about having a good heart, that was very inspirational for him.

(Y/N): Really? I mean, it was pretty cheesy now that I think about it.

Pyrrha: Not to him, he's definitely gained some confidence in himself.

(Y/N): Oh, well, good for him.

Pyrrha: I also overheard your "misgivings" about training with Ruby and her team.

(Y/N): Yeah...

Pyrrha: I can train you.

(Y/N): You can?

Pyrrha: I train Jaune, and he's never complained about my teaching. At least, not that I know of. But I can guarantee that I'm not as aggressive as team RWBY's methods.

(Y/N): That sounds great! But, won't Ruby and the others be upset about it?

Pyrrha: Don't worry, I'll talk to them, they'll understand.

(Y/N): Okay. Cool! When do we start?

Pyrrha thought for a moment.

Pyrrha: We can start the day after tomorrow. Since we have a field trip to the Forever Fall Forest tomorrow with Professor Goodwitch.

(Y/N): Alright!

Pyrrha: Well then, we'll start then! I'm sure Jaune will be excited that he won't be alone anymore in his training sessions.

Just as Pyrrha turned the corner, Y/N over heard her say something.

Pyrrha: Hey Ruby!

Ruby: Hi Pyrrha!

(Y/N): 0_o

Ruby turned the corner to see Y/N.

Ruby: Hey! I found him!

Seconds later Yang, Blake, and Weiss burst through the bookshelf.

Weiss: There you are!

Yang: Time for "Triple-Time" training!

(Y/N): AAAAHHH!!!

My apologies for the late upload, but I've been very busy and the work doesn't look like it will lighten for a while. So, to help me balance my story and my work I'll start a scheduled weekly release. 

Every Wednesday there will be a new chapter, until I finish. 

So that's the way I'll be doing this from now on, I hope to continue to release quality work for you to enjoy! Or at least try to. :P
