Chapter 9
New chapter... Finally. Sorry for taking a while to update. Information on when the next chapter will be released will be at the end of this chapter. I hope you enjoy it! And don't be afraid to comment and vote.
"Now, since your wounds have now been removed, let's move to the next part of your training," Lucario directed while handing the blue jacket back to Ash.
"Right." Ash complies while hastily putting on the jacket over his now rejuvenated body. Ash's body hasn't felt this clean and pure since Giovanni became his guardian. Even since he became his guardian, his body has been bruised and wounded constantly over the three years. Like a Metapod, Ash felt like his body has shredded the battered skin off. Replacing it with a new and pristine layer that was held back for years due to the dark shadow of Giovanni.
"Now, since you have learnt to see Aura, which took an extremely short amount of time," Lucario mumbled. " I'm going to teach you how to read one's aura. To put it simply, this ability will allow you to determine if a person is good or bad."
"Ok," Ash replied.
"Now. Close your eyes and look at the pokemon around us," Lucario ordered
Ash instinctively took a step back and put his hands up, "I'm not going to get suddenly smacked am" Ash half-jokingly huffed.
"No. You have my word. Read my aura if you must. An aura doesn't lie," While puffing out his metal spiked chest and placing his hands behind his furry back.
Ash then took a deep breath, rejuvenating all the air in his lungs. He then cautiously closed his eyes. It felt like the millionth time Ash has done that in the last hour. Hopefully, Lucario isn't lying, the boy thought. Luckily, unlike before, the boy felt no deception or plots extruding out of his teacher. "What do you see my student." Ash suddenly hears.
He then turned on his heel to look around at his night sky surroundings. Suddenly, Ash was greeted by a variety of different colours blinking into his dark vision. The curtain of the night disappearing and being replaced by a variety of bright vivid colours. It looked like multiple rainbows were placed in a blender, producing a colourful smoothie. Some colours were as large as Ash, while others were as small as grass that hasn't been mowed in a couple of weeks.
"Um. I see aura... In many different shapes and colours?" Ash assumed.
"Good. Each living creature will have its unique aura. This could be the different size and shape of the aura or the colour of the aura itself. It may also be how brightly the aura shines. Now, the size of the aura is affected by how big the living organism is. For example, a Wailord would have a much larger aura then a Flabébé," Lucario explained. "However, this doesn't mean that a Wailord's aura is more powerful. To see the power level of one's aura, you have to look at how brightly the aura shines. The brighter, the more powerful. Furthermore, you should be able to feel the raw power radiating from this said aura... Did you get all that?"
"Er yea. I should be fine. I got my ways to remember," Ash hesitantly answered.
Not convinced, Lucario eyed his student. Not intimated, Ash shot his teacher a confident smile. Giving up, Lucario reluctantly huffed, "Ok... If you say so. But if you miss anything then tell me. This is an integral part of becoming a powerful aura user." Ash shot Lucario a thumbs up. GIving his teacher a stern answer.
Sighing, Lucario quickly composed himself and continued, "Now for an example... Compare my aura to... Those Bulbasaurs over there. Resting near the shade of the tree." Lucario suggested while pointing towards the sleeping pack of Bulbasaur. Ash immediately opened his eyes and turned to the group of Bulbasaur. The boy then took a couple of steps back so that he could see both subjects in his view. With Lucario on his left and the Bulbusaurs on his right.
Instinctively, the boy quickly closed his eyes and was immediately greeted by the vivid colours for the 2nd time. Although there were spots of colours from pokemon in the background, it was clear to Ash that Lucario had a blue aura and the group of Bulbasaur had a green one. When comparing the two, Ash noticed that the Bulbasaur's had a larger aura due to the increased numbers. But, when comparing the brightness it was clear as the sun that the blue aura was shinning a million times brighter. His aura was like a beam from a high powered torch. Small, when compared to Bulbusaurs', but bright and direct. Also, Ash felt an extreme amount of heat oozing from the aura pokemon.
Ash then reopened his eyes and walked up to Lucario. "I can see that your blue aura easily outshines their green aura. I also feel the aura coming from your body." Lucario nods. "But, why do all pokemon have different colours? Is it due to how they look?" Ash inquired.
"There is a variety of reason to why an aura is that colour. But there are two main reasons. 1. Aura can reflect a person's personality/ appearance. For example..." Lucario looks intently at Ash, "I see you as a blue colour. Do you have any connection with blue?"
"Yes. Blue is my favourite colour," Ash answers while nodding his head
"Thought so," Lucario revealed making Ash confused. "Your preference for wearing blue gave it away." Making Ash perform a silent O. " Thus, it could be a possibility that your aura is blue because you love that colour so much."
"So that's why I see the Bulbusaur as green?" Ash questioned thoughtfully.
"It could be the reason. However, it could be another. 2. It could also represent a person's heart. Evil or good. So red, blue, white etc."
"So for example, If I see a pink aura It should be good since pink is a colour of love and friendship?"
"Not exactly, it can be yes. But pink doesn't always represent those things. Have you seen a Jigglypuff when you fall asleep during his or her performance? Those pink balls go crazy. Or even... a Mr Mime." Like stops and cringes at the thought of Mr Mimes. The pokemon shoulders lifted and his head burning into them. "Those things can give me nightmares for days." Realising his blabbering his clumsily swiped, "Moving on."
Lucario then saw Ash looking down, hiding his evil smirk. Ash replied "Eh yeah. I'll pretend you don't have a phobia of clowns. Totally won't try to prank you at a later time," while murmuring the last sentence.
Disgusted Lucario huffed while staring right into Ash's red hat, "No, you shouldn't do that."
Filled with amazement and shock Ash whipped his head to eye Lucario's deadly face, "What? how did you-"
"You have a lot to learn Ash... Another lesson for the future." Lucario interrupted. "Now getting back on track. The different colours that auras can be, will make it hard to deduce what the aura is trying to tell the guardian. Thus, to help us, we use our feeling. As our vision can easily misread the creatures' aura. Hence we use emotions. If the aura is pure and good, you will feel at ease and won't tense up. Your breathing will relax. If you see something evil, or someone plotting evil, then your mind and body will tense up. Your breathing may be more shallow. The hair on your arms will stand up on its tippy-toes."
"That's what I felt when you were helping me up. I felt a shiver slither down my spine. So I prepared to dodge your paw. Which worked I guess," Ash admitted.
"Good. You are learning quickly. Perhaps too quick. I guess you are a natural. Born in the ways of aura..."
The aura pokemon then sees his student looking at him with a what the hell are you talking about-face. With the boy's mouth slightly agape and his eyes squinting slightly due to the tangent he went on. "Right. Back to aura training. So that's the foundation of reading auras. Did you get all that? Minus the last part." Lucario exclaimed.
After a moment of registering the comment, the boy swiftly swopped down into the pocket, of his navy blue jeans, to grab his blue cased phone from his pocket, pressing the 'stop recording" button on his phone. "Yes. I did get it."
Confused, Lucario inquired, "What did you just do?"
"I recorded what you said" Ash nonchalantly replied
"No, you didn't. That's impossible," Lucario replied.
Ash then brought this phone closer to Lucario's ear, sliding a strange white bar towards the middle of its line. The boy then tapped the play button, "I guess you are a natural. Born in the ways of aura..." The device dittoed almost perfectly.
Lucario immediately snatched the phone from out of Ash's hands and marvelled at the blue cased device. "O my. This device is magical... What else can this thing do?" Lucario glowed while carefully tapping his furry paws on the many square pictures presented by Ash's smartphone.
"Um. Well, it can do a lot of things," Ash carefully replied
"Many things you say?... Oooo what does this do?" Lucario curious stated while his finger tapped on the app that had a rainbow-like flower with a white background. Underneath the app, the words 'photos' were labelled. When seeing the app appear on the screen, Ash's face then contorted as if he saw Gary hopelessly flirt with a girl. "Hmmm. What's all this. Why are these paintings here?" After gliding through the many Pokemon and other pop culture references in his phone. He noticed a group of interesting photos that consistently appeared throughout Ash's gallery. Seeing this Lucario inquired, "Ash? Why is this same honey-blond hair girl constantly appe-"
Interrupting Lucario, Ash immediately swiped the phone from Lucario's paws. "Uh. You don't need to know that..." Silence soon enveloped the pair. The aroma of awkwardness wafted the unoccupied space, like smoke. Lucario stood there like a statue, mostly confused by the boy's weird actions. While Ash instinctively scratched the back of his head, looking down onto the rich grass he stood on. In an attempt to cut the awkwardness with a knife, Ash blabbered, "Uh. S- So aura is basically Like, Uh...t-the force in star wars? But I can visualise it as well?"
Momentarily shaken by the boys change in subject, Lucario naively answers. "...Force? Like gravity?... Wars in the stars? Is this another magical theme from your world?"
Ash facepalmed. Of course. Why would he know Star Wars? Come on Ash get it together, the boy thought to himself. "O Right... err. Don't worry. Perhaps I can show you at a later time." Add dusted away.
What is going on in your world? Lucario thought. These magical devices called phones, wars in the star? What's next? After quickly recovering Lucaro announces, "Ok. Now focus up. With aura, you can communicate with other living creatures telepathically. Meaning, you can chat with living beings in your world without talking out loud. This will help you keep the identity of your powers and pokemon hidden. Go try. Look around and find a pokemon. Let's say..." Lucario looks around and finds Pikachu trying to grasp the Airborn Mew. Who was swirling around the grounded mouse Pokémon, attempting to bring down the annoying pink pokemon. After seeing how Pikachu was distracted Lucario directed"Pikachu. Try to talk to Pikachu. But first. Explain what you see and how you feel about Pikachu."
Ash POV
"Ok. Done deal." I reply. Quickly I lock my eyes onto the distracted mouse pokemon. What aura will you be... Probably yellow. I then close my eyes while staring up Pikachu. An aurora of colours started to light up my dark vision. Colours like Blue, Red, Green, yellow and a whole lot more appeared in my vision. How will I ever find Pikachu? There are too many different aura's here. I think Lucario felt that I was having trouble finding Pikachu's aura as I heard him inject, "Think long and hard about the subject you want to find. Remove any other thoughts and images lingering in your mind and focus on the subject. If you do this, then his or her's aura will be drawn to you. It will stand out. Like a Shiny pokemon among regular ones."
I nod my head in acknowledgment. Focus on the subject... Ok, Shouldn't be too hard. What aura would a small yellow mouse with a very boisterous personality and who usually gets into sticky situation have? After a couple more moments of thinking about Pikachu, I feel a dark yellow aura start to burn more and brighter than any other. It was being overgrown all other auras in its area. Especially a pink swirling aura. That must be mew! I assume. I then spoke, "I see a dark yellow aura. It's slowing a lot birther then any other around. Is that Pikachu?" I asked hesitantly
Silence past through my ears. Not a word said. Please tell me that the aura is Pikachu and not some random pokemon. "Yes." Lucario abruptly answered. He then continued, "That is Pikachu. But what is the feeling you get from the aura? That is the most important part when identifying one's aura, as it tells you what the person or pokemon will be like."
I begin to focus directly on the dark yellow aura that glowed many times brighter than other colours surrounding it. When focusing on it, I fell my body start to calm down. My breathing slows and my shoulder slump. I felt, at ease with the aura. So does that mean I can trust Pikachu? But at the same time, my brain started to ache, as if it was having a headache. Confused I ask, "Um. Well, when I look at his aura, my body seems to slump and my breathing clams drastically. As if my body is letting its guard down. Does that show I can trust the aura?
"For the most part. Yeah. But I sense that there is another feeling in you. A disturbance of some kind." Lucario sought.
"Yes. My head is aching like I'm having a headache."
"What do you think that means?"
I bring my mind into a deep think. My right hand shot up to caress my chin while my left-hand moves down to support my exposed elbow. What would a headache mean? Why would Pikachu give me a headache?... Oh. "Cause Pikachu can be a pain in the arse and can give anyone a headache due to his annoying behaviour at times."
Lucario nodded his head and answered, "Bingo"
My body glowed in happiness. The butterfly of joy swelled within me. I continue, "But he is still a great friend and can be relied and trusted upon."
"Yes. Now try to talk to him telepathically. You can say whatever you like" Lucario granted.
I turn my body to face the yellow mouse pokemon. Staring intently at the still distracted Pikachu. After a couple of seconds, a thought concern popped into my head. What should I say? I mean this is going to be my first ever words spoken through Aura. I have to make it special. So special that I remember this moment years down the track. What should it be? Again I move into my thinking pose. I hear Lucario annoying exclaim, "We don't have all day you know. Just say something." Ignoring these comments, a beautiful thought entered into my thoughts. Perfect. What a classic line. A smirk starts to form on my lips as I reverser back into my original stance, closing my fist to help me focus on the aura that is flowing around me. While closing my eyes I hear Lucario mutter, "I have a bad feeling about this," while putting his paw onto his forehead. A small chuckle escapes my lips.
I then determinedly diverted all my energy onto the small yellow Pokemon, in an attempt to connect with his dark yellow aura. Suddenly, I feel my stomach roar. Not with hunger, but with a bright blue light shooting out from it and into the Pikachu. I guess I've made the connection. As it made the contact the blue light dimmed, leaving only a faint but visible line between Pikachu and I. Assuming I've made contact and take a deep breath and excited announce, "Pikachu. I choose you!"
Like a flash I see Pikachu ears stand up immediately and his head violently spin around in an attempt to find who said that to him. "Who said that? No one chooses me! Reveal yourself!" This outburst surprised Mew with the pink pokemon coming to an abrupt halt.
I continue, "Who is this you ask." "I then chuckle manically making Pikachu turn even faster to find the culprit. "Well... I am your father..." I finish.
"What! My father!" Pikachu bellowed attracting all the attention from the other pokemon in the area.
Mew then finally spoke, "Are you ok. I know you are crazy and all but this is a whole new level for you."
"But I swear?"
"Nope. Just you and your mind. You are lucky Sylbeon didn't see. Or else she may think you have gone crazy."
"O. Shut up you." Causing Pikachu to try and attack Mew again.
Leaving the pair to bicker among themselves I reduce my attention on Pikachu's aura. Causing the blue tether to vanish into the black background. I then turn to find Lucario's blue aura and connect with it. Again, the blue rope appears connecting us. "See everything is fine. No need to worry," I reassure. Instantly after I open my eyes to see a moment of surprise on Lucario's face. But he quickly hid it.
"Good. I'm not sure why you would want to be the father of that thing." Lucario states while looking at Pikachu. Causing me to sheepishly rub the back of my head. He then placed his paw onto my shoulder. Looking directly into my eyes Lucario continued, "But, for future use, when in the eye of the public. Make sure you do these actions more discretely. People may think... differently of you if they see you do this."
Understandably, I reply, "Of course. If I don't people may think I'm crazy or something. Or even worst, my aura ability may be exposed."
Impressed, Lucario crossed his arms across his chest and exclaimed, "Great. At this rate, you will learn everything to do with aura... At such a young age. I took me at least a couple of days to learn the things you have learnt today. Therefore, you have now completed the basics of aura. Congratulations." Lucario states, almost robot-like. It seemed like those words have been said hundreds of times before. I then quickly refocus to hear him say, "When you gain enough experience you will be able to use aura with your eyes open."
I thought then suddenly jumped into my head, "Wait. That's was the basics!?"I unknowingly ask.
Surprised Lucario stated, "Yeah? What did you think this was as easy as defeating a Magikarp? Hell no. It's is going to be as hard as taming an enraged Gyarados. Do you not remember when I said it took Sir Aaron years to master this art."
"Ok... Well... What are we waiting for?! Let's continue!" I yell while pumping my right fist into the air.
"Woah, slow down. I like the enthusiasm but your aura is telling me that you are hungry." Right after announcing this, I roar came bellowing from my stomach. The sound of the disappointment of being hungry.
"Hehe. Maybe I forgot about lunch," I embarrassingly state while stacking the back of my black hair.
Lucario chuckled, "Come on. Quickly pack your stuff. I sense a fiery personality is coming with a message."
"Huh, How do you know" I inquire.
Before Lucario could answer the bushes behind Lucario start to rattle vigorously. Soon the branches begin to part ways to reveal a large badger-like pokemon with a blue back, yellow belly and holes appearing from the neck of the powerful pokemon. When escaping the foliage its flames immediately ignites from the holes. This caused all the pokemon to turn silent and look at the intimidating pokemon. The intimidating pokemon then started shaking and burning off leaves and sticks caught on its back while muttering, "Bloody plants. They are too easy to set on fire," When finishing the clean, the volcano pokemon turned to us and directed, "Arceus wants all of you to come back so that we can enjoy a feast. To celebrate Ash joining our ranks and being trained as an aura guardian." While motioning to Mew, Pikachu, Lucario and I. He then turned to where the majority of pokemon were gathered, interested and intimidated in what the fiery pokemon had to say. Typholsion then shot a welcoming smile, "All of you are welcome as well. It is held where Sir Aaron's monument is," he offers. In response, all the pokemon immediately started running towards the feast.
Mew then came up to us and prompted, "Come on. Let's go eat."
In response, I powerfully leap up into the air with a fist shooting towards the sky bellowing, "Hell yeah. Can never say no to free food," not caring at how idiotic I look. Calming down I turn to Pikachu and apologize, "Sorry Pikachu."
Confused on why I'm apologizing, he asked, "for?"
"Interrupting the moment between you and your father of course," I cheerfully reply with a tongue poking out.
Like carbonated water that was about to burst out of its can, I immediately dashed back towards the portal yelling, "The last one there is a rotten egg!"
I then hear Pikachu yell, " THAT WAS YOU. Why you little- OOOOOO you are in for it now. Come back here so you can say hello to my electricity." I then hear sparks conducting from the angered yellow mouse pokemon. Forcing me to run as fast as I possibly can.
3rd Person
Soon after Pikachu dashed off in an attempt to catch up to the quick boy. Leaving behind Mew, Lucario and Typholsion to react to the events that just unfolded. "Don't they realise that we could have just teleported there?" Mew asked.
"Eh. Let them go. They will probably need to burn some calories with all the food they are about to eat. That Pikachu can fit so much food in his small body. That mouse can eat as much as a Snorlax, Perhaps even more than a Snorlax-!" Typholsion injected.
"Let's just go to this feast. Don't want to be slowpokes and be the last ones there," Lucario muttered.
"What a downer," Mew shot. Immediately, they blinked out of existence. Only to reappear in at the feast which was in front of Sir Aarons hat.
Again I am extremely sorry for taking a while to update this story. Its been just over 2 weeks since the last chapter. Sword and shield have come out between this chapter and the last one! So what do you think of sword and shield in general?
Hopefully, the next chapter will take much less time. Probably around a week or even less than that. I have already done 1500 words of it so hopefully, I will be able to finish it soon.
I hope you all enjoyed this chapter. Don't be afraid to leave a comment/ suggestions. And if you did in enjoy it then it would be appreciated if you voted. :D I hope you all have a great day and I will hopefully see you in the next chapter!
