Chapter 1- The beginning of a new era
For the past thousands of years, Pokémon have been living peacefully in the reverse world. Yes, there have been some incidents were some Pokémon have accidentally broken crystals. They resulted in explosions in the real world. But, besides these incidents, everything has been running peacefully.
At the very centre of the reverse world, stood all the legendary and mythical Pokémon gathering to have their yearly meeting. The Time Pokémon, Dialga, then stepped up and announced, "Arceus, it has been centuries since we last sent a scout out. According to the crystals, a lot has changed in the world. It has also been a couple of years after that incident with humans. Should we send someone out to investigate?" Arceus then pondered on the suggestion. Its face was unreadable like a stone.
"Someone bring Pikachu to me," Arceus ordered. Soon, Pidgeot took to the gloomy skies, in search of the said Pikachu. A couple of minutes later, Pikachu then swiftly arrived on the back of the Pigeot. The yellow mouse Pokémon then leapt down and landed in the centre of all and the legendary Pokémon. Pikachu eyes marvelling at all the majestic Pokémon surrounding him.
Arceus then stepped forward, Pikachu's eyes darted towards it. Arceus than announced, "Pikachu. We are about to assign a task where it could dramatically alter how we live. It may even get you killed. Are you up for the task?" Pikachu immediately nodded his head. Shocked with the lack of hesitation, he continued, "Your task is to go out into the real world and give us intel on the world, and how humans may view us. It would be best if you did not get spotted under any circumstance. Do you understand?" Like before, there was a quick nod. "Good, we will see you off." All Pokémon then disbursed, heading to the nearby portal area.
The hustle of Pokémon's scampering around enveloped the area. With Pikachu thoughts of freedom rolling around his head. Pikachu was a very energised character. He always liked moving. Naturally, he relished in an opportunity like this. But a nagging thought in the back of his head still kept in on the task at hand.
After a couple of minutes of travelling the islands of their world, they reach the portal's summing place. Concrete bricks mark its position on the ground. Next to it was Sir Aaron's hat, still in pristine condition, sitting atop a pillar. Arceus than stated, "This hat symbolises the connection that Sir Aaron made with his Lucario," while gesturing to the Lucario trapped in a crystal next to the hat with the words friends until the end scribbled onto the crystal. "This illustrates that humans can work with Pokémon. Which is why I believe that one day we can all live in tandem with humans... Perhaps, today is that day," Arceus announced. Suddenly, Giratina then stepped forward and let out a roar. A purple portal suddenly formed between the worlds. A gush of wind rippled from within the portal. Arceus then turned to Pikachu and exclaimed, "Here it is Pikachu. The portal to another dimension. On the other side of this portal is a world where everything is different. Reversed if you will." Arceus chucked at his comment. "But remember this is only a reconnaissance mission. Do not get spotted. When you are ready to return then come back to where you first landed. We will be able to see you through the crystal. Good luck."
Pikachu then nodded and did a thumb up to Arceus and stated "Don't worry Arceus. I got this." And with that Pikachu jumped through the portal.
Suddenly a portal appeared in the middle of the night at Vidiran forest. A Pikachu then suddenly emerged from it. As the portals closed the Pikachu then quickly scampered up a tree.
Pikachu POV
My eyes dart around my forest surrounds, eyeing to see if anything was around. I was ready to attack if needed. Ok now, where I am. As I begin walking around the forest, I come across a black concrete pathway, with white stripes running down the middle of the path. Next to the long path, I see a green sign. Cautiously, I check my surroundings and sprint towards it. When I reached it, the sign read, 'Welcome to Pallet Town' in big bright letters. Below it stated, 'the colour of pure white beginnings.' A Town, eh.
3rd Person
The roar of the crowd vibrated around the Kanto region. 100k people all stuffed into the rectangle structure and millions more watching on TV. Everyone viewing the battle knew there were watching a spectacle. Suddenly a massive roar rang throughout the stadium when they saw Chesnaught fell to the once grassy ground. With Pikachu, gingerly standing next to it. The ref then announced, "Chesnaught is unable to battle the winner of the battle and the match is Ash Ketchum and Pikachu."
Ash POV
I don't care if my mouth looks like a Magikarp out of water. What matters is, I WON a Pokémon league. I ran, as fast as a Ninjasck, out to my partner. I then drop to my knees, brought him into a hug. "Pikachu, We did it. We finally won a league," I told Pikachu. He then replied, "Pi...Pika...chu" with a tired thumbs up. When I got back to my feet, I noticed the crowd was dead silent. I look around in confusion. My eyes locked onto a man in an orange suit approaching me. It was the Vidiran city gym leader. I then walk up to him with a spring in my step. When I was in front of him, I noticed how he easily towers over me as if I was a baby. I felt a little intimidated. He then stuck his hand out and then grabbed his hand to shake it.
He then pulls me closer to him and whispers "Wake up."
My vision then suddenly blurs. When it clears, I see Giovanni black eyes and a devious smile staring into my chocolate brown eyes. I get a tsunami of fear grip me like a constructor snake. "You're finally up, boy. Go get dressed, you have chores to do you, little runt," huffs Giovanni. When he finally left my room, I took a deep breath.
He could have done so much worst to me. I shouldn't keep him waiting. So I hastily put on a blue and white jacket with grey jeans and a red hat (Kalos look). I then look around my room, admiring my bedroom, a cracked window above my single bed. A desk filled with Pokémon figures, my switch and 3DS to the left of my bed. And a closet to the right of the bed. I try to keep my room as clean as possible. Don't want Giovanni to come and slip on any Pokémon accessories, even if that would be a funny sight. I then hear Giovanni scream my name. I check the time, 11 am. Sh--. Quickly, I ran out of my room and down the wooden steps, which lead into the living room. I saw my stepfather sitting on the leather couch watching the news and my mother next to him. Giovanni then glared at me and growled "What took you so long. I told you to get dressed and be down here this instant. You are so useless at everything can't even get down here on time."
Before I could open my mouth, Delia replied, " Don't say that about him. He is a determined, caring and lovely boy. He does so much stuff for us."
"Yeah well, he isn't doing anything for us right now," He muttered. He then points at me and retorts "What are you still doing here!? Go makes me lunch and clean the house by 4:30 pm. Or else there will be consequences." I quickly nod my head and run into the kitchen to prepare lunch for him.

I slumped down onto the couch after hours of cleaning. The clock had just ticked pass 4, and I was done with the day. After cleaning a 2 story house with, one living room, one dining room, one kitchen, three bedrooms (1 of them a master bedroom), one office (Giovanni's), two shower rooms two toilets and a garage big enough for four cars, I think I have the right to relax. Reaching over to the remote on the coffee table, I turned on the TV. When channel surfing, I managed to stumble on the Pokémon anime. The perfect way to unwind.
Sometime later
Abruptly, I groggily wake up as I hear a booming shout from the dining room "ASH! You little rat come here right now." I swiftly turn off the TV and rushing into the dining room. The moment I entered, Giovanni stood up, with Delia sitting beside him, and yelled, "Why haven't you started making dinner yet you little boy. It is 5:30 pm."
My head quickly snapped to the clock; he wasn't lying. I must have fallen asleep. Turning to the open panty, there was nothing in there besides a couple of herbs and spices. What the hell am I meant to cook with that?
Turning back to my furious da- stepfather, I retort, "Well someone decided not to get the groceries. So, unless you want today's special of oxygen with a seasoning of CO2 along with a side of the water, I would get off your high horse and trot down to the local supermarket."
"Why you little sh-"
"Giovanni, please calm down," my mum interrupts as she grabs his hand.
"Get your hands off me woman. After I finally get this snappy boy to submit to me, your next," Giovanni demands.
Flashback
Ash was 7. A time when everything was great. No angry stepdad and most of all, his father was here. With red next to him, both males smiled as they enjoyed the newest episode of Pokemon.
Fire announces, "Come on, Pikachu. Get up. We will never give up until the end!"
"Hey dad, that is the line you use all the time," Ash exclaims. With no reply, the boy curiously looks to his father and saw a blank face on Red. Nudging his father, he quickly looks back at his son and nods before questioning, "Ash, do you want to know why I tell you always never to give up?"
"Yes, father, why is that?" Ash asked, tilting his head slightly at his father.
Red couldn't help but let out a laugh before he answered, "Well, one reason, is that my father, your grandfather, always said those same words to me. Now at first, I thought these were throwaway lines until I saw a survey. It was done on people who were very sick, old or had very few days to live. These people were asked, 'What is your biggest life regret?' What do you think they answered son?"
"Well, I think they regret some actions they did like saying mean things, hitting someone or just an action they could take back," Ash replied.
Red then answers, "Son, you are wrong. These people said that they regret the things they DIDN'T do. Not the thing they DID do. Like, not go to a family event or not trying hard enough in a test or sporting event." Ash then nodded his head. "This is why I keep the words "don't give up" important to me as I don't want to look back at life thinking if I only did this or regret not doing this. At the end of my journey in the tunnel of life, I want to remember all the great things I did and how my hard work and resilience has paid off. I want you to feel this way as well. Not, if only I did this or that. Do you understand?"
Ash nodded his head.
"Good. Now son. You love your mum, right?" Red asked.
"Of course, I love you two very much," Ash replied.
"Good. Well, could you make me a promise?" Ash nodded his head. "If I'm not there for mum, whenever that is for a short period or long-time period, I want you to take care of her as much as you can. Make sure she isn't hurt and that you are there for her got it because with my line of work I can't be there all the time to take care of you both. So you two have to care for each other. Ok?" Red announces.
"I promise dad. I will never give up taking care of mum." Ash replies.
"Till the end?" Red questions.
"Till the end." Ash answers.
***
Never give up until it's over. It sure as hell isn't over yet. The fat lady isn't even close to singing.
With a blazing fire, as big as a Charizard using flame blast, shinning inside of him, Ash demanded, "No. I will never submit to you. I will never give up. Now don't ever talk to my mum like that and don't even think about hit her. You backstabbing lying, manipulative bastard."
