The locked door had a symbol on it.... That was the stigma of magic... Paul was confused and surprised to see that stigma as he had a similar symbol on his body....
Alice was a ranker hiding her identity as she wanted what the tower had to offer and she also knew the fact that Paul was the key to the door of the tower.
