Clearing Things Up

Cass got out of a minivan on the passenger side of the car. Her children ran off into the school and left her. Out of the driver's side a small human woman jumped out, they exchanged a kiss before Cass ran off into the school and the woman drove away. A ghostly hand fled the scene, and suddenly all of the school was alerted to the fact that the new teacher was with a normie.

"There's no denying it now." Cleo held her phone out for the other's in her group to see. "She's definitely a normie sympathizer."

"I still don't think there's anything wrong with that...." Frankie said. "After all, this is her private life."

"It's so strange though, don't you think?" Draculaura spoke up. "After all they've done to us, why does she surround herself with them?"

"She also does always talk about how much she hates humans." Clawdeen said. "That's a little suspicious...."

Draculaura gasped. "What if she's working for the normies to find our hiding spots!" She looked around. "She could be a spy!"

"I don't think she's a spy, Draculaura." Frankie sighed.

All the students heads turned as they saw Cass walking through the halls to her classroom.

Cass looked around and sighed as she walked, shaking her head and tisking.

Frankie turned back to her friends. "Come on, ghouls; we should just stay out of her private life."

"But what if she is a spy, Frankie?" Draculaura was worked up.

Frankie glanced around and sighed. "Alright, we're going to talk to Marklin and Kathie about this."

___________

"Hey you two." Frankie smiled brightly as she and her friends walked up to the siblings.

They both turned and looked at the group.

"What's wrong?" Marklin said tiredly.

"Oh nothing, really." Frankie started. She grabbed Draculaura's phone, as she was reading through the Ghostly Gossip. She held up the article so the two could see. "We were just wondering if you could explain this for us?"

Kathie snorted and went to say something, but Marklin held up a hand to stop her.

"You are too indelicate Kathleen," Marklin cleared his throat. "My aunt is yes, married to a Human, and yes, she also has a general dislike for Humans, that is only thanks to my little brothers father, but after that, it is none of your concern."

"My- other, mom is really a nice Human, she was raised around Monsters and she used to be married to a werewolf." Kathie said.

"Aunt? I thought she was your mom.... Are you two not actually siblings?" Frankie was ready to apologize for thinking so.

"No we are brother and sister." Marklin and Kathie both said quickly.

"Then why did you call her your aunt?" Clawdeen asked.

"She is." Marklin said.

"Actually, he's my half brother, our father was the same man, my mom, who is his aunt, adopted him after his parents kicked the casket." Kathie further explained.

The girls looked to each other before simply shrugged, Clawdeen nodding, "Yeah, I guess that makes sense."

"Well, anything else you need from us?" Marklin asked, putting his hands on his hips.

"One last thing." Frankie smiled. "How has your first few days been?"

They both shrugged and walked away.

"I'm just going to take that as an 'it's been great!'" Frankie turned to her friends. "See, there's nothing to be worried about."

"I guess you're right." Draculaura said, now calm.

Cleo sighed. "I still have my doubts, but I guess it's her personal life...."

"Great!" Frankie smiled. "Now, let's get to class."

______________

Marklin walked down the hall to band practice, flipping the small piece of plastic in his hands with his eyes out for a certain skeleton.

Down the hallway, he saw the bones in question.

"Hey!" Marklin called, Jasper bolted before Marklin even had time to start on his way over.

"He sure is a nervous one, isn't he?" Operetta questioned, leaning against the lockers.

"I can never understand how someone could be so nervous." Holt shook his head, sitting on top of the lockers. "Like Jackson."

"I-I'm not nervous, just...." Marklin looked at the plastic in his hands.

"Oh please." Operetta rolled her eyes. "You and Jasper have to be the most nervous people I've ever seen when around each other."

"I don't think you've had a decent conversation with him once." Holt crossed his arms.

"Erhm." Marklin coughed and held up the little piece if plastic. "He lost his bone fill. I want to give it back."

"Aw, it's just like that story that the normies tell to their children." Operetta finally stood from her leaning position. Holt simply rolled his eyes.

"W-what?" Marklin squaked.

"That dumb normie story? Seriously?" Holt looked to Operetta.

"Yeah, Yeah, put a sock in it, Hyde." Operetta rolled her eyes. "But don't you think that it's kinda romantic?"

"Never took you for the romantic type." Holt huffed.

"I'm not." Operetta glared at Holt before looking back to Marklin. "You should try harder to talk to him, sweetpea."

"That won't work." Holt crossed his arms. "You've seen that skeleton run like no tomorrow when Marklin shows up."

"Oh? Then what's your bright idea?" Operetta put her hands on her hips.

"We should throw a party!" Holt smiled brightly. "We can even play!"

"Who's to say anyone would show up, me included." Marklin snapped.

"Everyone shows up when Hyde's gonna be there." Holt finger gunned. Operetta rolled her eyes.

"Well this is dumb, I'll just put this in his locker and what is done is done." Marklin huffed.

"You'll never be able to talk to him then." Holt jumped down from the lockers. "Come on, this is a great opportunity for you!"

"Well...."

"Maybe you could write him a note?" Operetta suggested. "It worked for that Valentine guy."

"Ugh." Holt huffed. "That guy."

"I'm not that bad!" Valentine yelled from down the hall. "Throw the party you zombies!" He huffed away.

Holt crossed his arms. "I hate that he agrees."

"What is up with you and that guy?" Operetta questioned before shaking her head. "You know what? I don't want to know." She then sighed. "I guess we're throwing a party then...."

"Damn." Marklin hissed.

"This is gonna be great!" Holt smiled brightly.

"We'll see...." Operetta looked to Marklin.
