Tyler knew he shouldn't have expected much at school the next day. But it still broke his heart when Josh didn't even so much as glance at him.

He broke down in tears by lunch time, leaving a very confused Melanie to try and cheer him up.

"What's wrong, Tyler? What happened?"

"N-Nothing, leave me alone," he muttered, wiping away a stray tear.

"You can tell me."

"No I can't!"

"I won't tell anybody."

"I can't tell. I wish I could..."

"Don't you trust me?"

Tyler sighed. "Yes, but I can't go against my word."

"Does it have to do with Josh?"

Tyler glared at her. "No, why would you think that?"

"Because whenever you walk past each other you look like you're going to bust out in tears," Melanie rolled her eyes.

"He's just an asshole. I wish I didn't like him."

"I'm sorry," she sighed, pulling Tyler in for a quick hug.

"I want to go home again."

"You can't keep missing because of him. And you can't miss practice either."

"Fine," Tyler groaned, wiping at a tear that had streamed down his neck.

He heard Melanie let out a small gasp and he furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. She pointed at his neck, eyes wide in shock.

"Is that a hickey?!"

Tyler didn't know if he should laugh or cry. He instinctively reached up to cover it.

"Yeah."

"From who!?"

"Dallon," Tyler lied, heart racing in anxiety.

"You're fucking Dallon?!" Melanie asked, a little too loudly.

Tyler shrunk, noticing the several stares he now had resting on him. He nodded slightly, hands growing sweaty.

"No way!" Melanie giggled, leaning in towards Tyler. "You're kidding me! I thought you liked Josh?"

"Doesn't mean I can't fuck other guys," Tyler replied, nervously glancing around him in case Josh was near by.

"I just can't believe you fucked Dallon! He really did this to you?"

Melanie's delicate fingers brushed against the flushed skin as she examined it. Tyler went to speak but felt someone place their hand on his shoulder. He turned to see Josh, who was leaning in real close to them.

"Oh, honey. That wasn't from Dallon."

Tyler's face turned bright pink while Josh winked at Melanie. He walked away without another word.

What the hell?

"Oh... My... Gosh... That did not just happen."

"Don't tell!" Tyler begged.

"But I- He- What? When? How? What!?"

"Josh is gay and we've been fucking for like a year but he won't come out because he's a little bitch but oh my god he just told you what is going on?" Tyler rambled, nervously messing with his fingers.

"Maybe he's slowly working up the courage. Don't worry, you can trust me. Nobody would believe me if I told them anyway. I just... I'm in actual shock. I'm going to stab myself."

"Mel!" Tyler laughed, playfully punching her shoulder. "You're so dramatic!"

"I'm not being dramatic! This is huge news. Every girl wants him, Tyler. And you got him!"

"Not really... Only in private."

"He'll come out eventually."

"I don't know, it's been a year already..."

"Truth or dare?" Melanie asked suddenly, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

"Neither," Tyler rolled his eyes.

"I dare you to go over to Josh and his friends and whisper to Josh to meet you in the janitor's closet after lunch."

"Why?"

"Because 1. I want to see his reaction, 2. I want to see his friends' reactions, and 3. You guys can totally have sex in the closet."

"What if I don't want to? That's so weird. And we'd get caught!"

"Not if you're not loud," Melanie pointed out. "No balls," she teased, grinning at him.

Tyler blushed, remembering back to when Josh said that he was too loud. He glanced over at Josh, seeing him laughing and eating with all his asshole friends.

"Fine," Tyler mumbled. "Only because you dared me."

He pushed back his chair and stood up, swaying his hips all the way over to where Josh sat. Everyone's heads turned to look at him, including Josh's.

"Whatdya want, Taylor?" Pete asked, making Brendon laugh. He called him Taylor instead of his real name, since "he wants to be a girl so bad." Which wasn't even the case. Tyler just like to wear girls' clothes.

"Nothing from you, bitch," Tyler mumbled under his breath, smiling when he heard Josh chuckle.

He leaned in close to the yellow hue, lips brushing against his ear as he spoke. "Meet me in the janitors closet by the bathrooms after lunch."

Josh's face grew bright red as he turned to watch Tyler walk away, admiring his ass. His friends all asked him what Tyler said and he froze, unsure of what to say.

"He wants me to help with his Chemistry," he lied.

"Why couldn't he have asked that out loud?" Brendon asked, eyebrows raised in suspicion.

"I don't know, he was probably afraid you assholes would say something to him," Josh narrowed his eyes, suddenly feeling angry.

"Why're you sticking up for him?" Pete argued.

"What's wrong with him? Just because he's different than you, that gives you the right to antagonize him?"

"Jeez Josh, why're your panties in a bunch?" Pete grinned, making Brendon laugh.

"Because you're dicks to him for no reason. Did he ever do anything to you?" Josh was trying to keep his voice down, but he let Pete see his fists as he clenched them against the table.

"Lets go, Brendon. Josh is on his period."

"No, don't go. You can stay. I'll go."

Josh stood up fast, knocking his chair backwards. The metal clanked against the tile floor, causing everyone's attention to turn to Josh. His hands trembled as he stormed over to Tyler and Melanie.

He tried to ignore the fear that sat in the pit of his stomach as he plopped down right next to Tyler, trying to ignore the feeling of everyone's stares on him.

"What happened?" Tyler asked quietly. "You don't have to sit by me... It's okay."

"No, they were being assholes and I stuck up for you, so they started being assholes to me. I'm sick of it. I'm really starting to not care anymore. They really piss me off."

Tyler could practically see the fumes coming out of Josh. He placed his small, cold hands over the boy's warm, clenched ones.

"Calm down, Josh. It's okay..."

"No it's not."

"Do you want me to leave, Ty?" Melanie asked quietly. Josh shook his head.

"Stay, you're fine. I'm not going to flip out or anything. Maybe on them, but not you guys," Josh slowly unclenched his fists, deciding to lace his fingers with Tyler's instead. He felt protected as he hid their hands under the table.

"So I just have to ask," Melanie started, "Are you really gay?"

Josh hesitated before nodding slowly. He glanced down at Tyler's fingers intertwined with his. He was definitely gay.

"And you like Tyler?" Melanie pushed on.

"Actually, I love Tyler."
