Chapter 1

Ciel

"I told you Jeremy; I need more time!" I hastily paced back and forth while holding my phone close to my ear. "Ciel, its been two whole months. I really need that story pronto."

"But, I need more time. The article you gave me was total crap!" I realized what I had said. My heart stopped, "Ciel.." I gulped. "Y-yes?" I waited for him to respond, my heart pounded waiting to burst. "You're fired!" He screamed. The line went dead, I nearly dropped my phone on the concrete. My one chance of becoming an author...gone.

I understood fully why Jeremy had fired me though. My article wasn't finished but I mean who in the world would find a headline like: "Man gets penis stuck in pipe" interesting?

I sure wouldn't. But no, my idiot self screwed up my only chance to get into the writing business. I sighed and sat on the nearest bench. I thought of all the possiblitys I could have had if only I had written that shitty article.

My mind wonderd to places it shouldn't. I gazed around the area and spotted a small suburban coffee shop nearby. I guess I can go for a coffee. I stood up when suddenly I felt a warm, wet liquid on my shoe. I looked down and to my horror I saw a
dog.

"Bloody hell! Are you kidding me?" I shooed the dog away and shook my leg. I put my cold hands in my pockets and began to walk. "Damn dog."

"Get out of here you stupid tart!"

I ran out of the parlor and giggled. "Can't catch me you stinky old man, ha!" My legs ran as fast as they could. The reason I was running? Simply because I played a simple prank on the old geezer that's all. Its not my fault he can't take a joke.

About ten minutes later, I had lost him. I placed my hands on my knees, gasping for air. Looking around to sit, I found a park bench and a water fountain.

How convenient. I thought. I shook my head and headed over to the water fountain.

What a crappy way to start the year, Alois. After I had gotten a cold drink of the water, I sat down exhausted. I got kicked out of my girlfriends house, I got fired, nearly got arrested, twice, and almost died.

Such an adventureous day today has been. I frowned and looked to my left and saw two little boys playing on the playground. I smiled, They look so happy and innocent.

I drew my attention to the purplish pink sky. I miss you Luka.
