LaTonya waited for the water to boil on the stove so that her and Toya could take a hot bath. She normally hates sitting in the tub but desperate times caused for desperate measures.

"I hungry" Toya mumbled as she sat at the table playing with her baby doll.

"Messiah's bringing food in a little while. Can you hold off for like 30 minutes?" She asked her sister as she carefully removed the boiling water and headed down the hallway towards the bathroom.

Toya nodded and got up to follow her sister. Lately she had been wanting to be under her lately and Tonya couldn't understand why. She figured it was because their mom had been gone yet another week without even a phone call.

Luckily before she did her disappearing act she paid the electricity bill but the hot water heater was now broken which was why she had to boil water for their bath.

"Go grab your night clothes and some underwear, I'm gonna add some cold water to this so that I can wash you up."

"Otay" Toya walked into her room and went into her small drawer pulling out her favorite pink pajamas. She wanted a ribbon in her head so she grabbed that too and headed into the bathroom.

Tonya helped her remove her clothes and placed her in the tub. She heard the doorbell ring indicating that someone was here, most likely Messiah with their food.

Tonya was very thankful to have someone like Messiah in her life, she called him her boyfriend but in honestly that have never verified with one another what they were. "Play with your toys, I'm gonna go let Siah in then I'll be right back."

Toya nodded and proceeded to play, she silently prayed that they wouldn't leave her home alone tonight. She needed some attention and needed it badly.

Tonya opened the door with a smile; "Hey there"

"What's up shawty" Messiah said as he leaned in for a hug since his hands were full of groceries.

"What's this? I thought you were just grabbing something from Chick-Fil-A" Tonya asked with a furrowed brow.

"I got that too, but I remember you telling me Ma Dukes disappeared again so I brought groceries for you and Toy."

Tonya stared at him, admiring him as he moved around the kitchen putting the food up. He bought cereal, milk, bread, meat, veggies, the whole nine.

"You did-"

"Aht aht, you know how I get down. I ain't having y'all in here with no food especially my bestie Toya" he exclaimed as he turned to her. "Where is my bestfriend anyways"

"She's in the tub, I'm about to go wash her up then we'll be back"

"Bet, I'm about to finish putting these groceries up" he smirked and kissed her cheek.

Tonya headed back towards the bathroom. When she walked in Toya looked up at her and smiled, "food here?"

"Yes it is fatty" Tonya laughed.

"Yyaayy" she shouted and splashed water getting water everywhere.

"Let's get you cleaned up munchkin." Tonya washed her body at least four times before she grabbed her towel and helped her out. After draining the tub she met Toya in her room, moisturized her skin with Aveeno, sprayed her skin with perfume and helped her get dressed.

"Can you put this ribbon in my hair?" Toya asked.

"Sure" Tonya brushed her hair into a ponytail and put the pink ribbon on.

"Let's go eeaatt" Toya shouted and ran towards the living room. "Ssiiaahh! You here" she cheesed when she noticed him sitting at the table.

Tonya smiled as she went into her room to grab clothes so that she could take a bath. She walked into the kitchen to grab the large pot filled with boiling water.

"Toy Toy, you here!" His eyes lit up. He genuinely cared for the little girl and her sister, he'd do anything to keep smiles on their faces, hence the fact of him bringing them groceries.

He and Tonya had been friends for about five years, meaning he'd known Toya since she was born. He looked at her as the little sister he didn't have. "I got you some shicken nuggets"

"Shicken nuggets?? You love me" Toya said dramatically.

"Gir-" Tonya said as she burst out laughing. Her little sister definitely had an old soul. She headed towards the bathroom to start a bath. She washed her body, dried off, moisturized her skin and put on a yellow tank top and black leggings. She sprayed her hair with water and conditioner so that it could air dry.

As she headed back towards the living room she heard Messiah and Toya were still engaged in conversation. "You know I love you bestie" Messiah said as he lifted her into her chair and placed her food in front of her. They all ate in comfortable silence, as Tonya watched her little sister enjoy her food with a smile on her face.

She wished that they lived in better circumstances, wished their mom was the mother she was years ago. Before their father died her mother dedicated her life to being a great mother.

Tia use to spend time with them everyday and made it her business to take them out. They would usually get food, go shopping, go to the park, etc. Those were the times she loved to remember.

The past three years have been the most difficult for Tonya, she felt as if she loss her bestfriend. She now had to take on the role as mother for Toya which took a toll on her childhood, this was why she would hang out all times of the night. She desperately needed to feel like a teenager again.

"Y'all wanna watch a movie? I brought some from my house" Messiah asked.

"Yyeessss" the sisters said in unison.

Messiah put "The Little Rascals" in and popped some popcorn. When he came back Toya was sitting in Tonya's lap with her thumb in her mouth. He joined them, getting under the blanket with them.Tonya tried to move Toya to the side of her but she wasn't going for it.

"You don't wanna sit by yourself like a big girl?"

"I need a yittle love" Toya said and snuggled closer to her big sister.
