The Serpent's Sin of Envy
"The manager of Boar Hat and Bernia's savior, Meliodas! A toast!" everyone cheered.
"W-Will I make it in this place?" Elizabeth asked.
Konomi gave her a hit on the shoulder, "Don't worry, you're not the only waiter, you know?"
Elizabeth smiled before taking orders, she grabbed a beer before somehow ending up spilling the beer on the customer's head.
After countless of apologies, she brought some food and a cup of beer. Forgetting who ordered the food, she began asking.
"Here, here!" he customer who ordered the food and beer called.
"Yes." Elizabeth answered happily before getting closer to the customer, tripping she accidentally threw the the food on the customer's face, and the beer fell on the floor.
Holding three trays, two with her hands, one on her head. Konomi placed each tray in front of the customers who ordered it. "Here you go!" she smiled.
"Thanks kid!" the man said as he began drinking.
"K-K-K-Kid?" the lilac muttered, now starting to get angry. "I'm not a kid!"
The customers laughed at the lilac's anger and waved the whole thing off. The now depressed lilac approached the also depressed silver haired girl. "Do I look like a kid?" she asked.
Elizabeth looked at Konomi, smiling before saying, "Kind of, I thought you were one when we first met."
A dark cloud was now on top of Konomi, "B-But.. aren't I taller than Meliodas?"
"You are taller, but he has some strands of his hair somehow standing up. Adding that he could be counted taller than you." she answered honestly, looking worriedly at the now gloomy Konomi.
Elizabeth sighed, thinking of her father. Konomi noticed the sad look in her eyes, "What's wrong?" she asked.
"Nothing, I suddenly remembered my father." she confessed.
The frown has turned to a grin when Konomi got an idea, "You said something about it being the first time you worked, right?"
Elizabeth nodded, not knowing where the lilac was trying to say.
"That mean you haven't ditched work before.. Let's do it now!" Konomi exclaimed, grabbing the confused silver haired's shoulder before they both disappeared.
Landing on the grass, the lilac released Elizabeth who looked around her in awe. "Wow! We were just at the bar, we are now outside. Is this what you did to Mead earlier?"
Nodding, the lilac lay on the ground lazily. "You know, even though we are traveling together, we actually didn't talk much to each other."
Elizabeth sat next to laying girl, gazing at the shining night sky. "I agree, I don't even know what's your favorite color..."
"White." the lilac muttered.
"Mine's yellow." the silver haired girl said before frowning. "I hope he's okay."
Konomi glanced at Elizabeth in confusion, "He?"
"My father, the king, we were both attacked by the Holy Knights. I managed to escape before they actually attacked, but he chose to stay there.." Elizabeth cried as tears formed in her eyes. "He said that he was going to be okay, but I can't help but be worried about him."
Konomi wrapped her arm around Elizabeth's shoulder, pulling her and making her lean on her. "It's okay to be worried Elizabeth, but I promise that we'll save the king." she promised, the princess smiled. "And kick some asses while we're at it." Elizabeth laughed nervously before looking at the lilac.
"Thank you, Konomi-san."
"Konomi is enough. After all, we're friends, right?" Konomi said.
"Yes! Konomi."
Meanwhile at the fort
A female blonde was waiting impatiently in one of the building far from the village of Bernia, the pink haired man enter the hallway where she was waiting in. "There you are, Gil. I was getting tired of waiting." the blonde exclaimed.
"Our business will have to wait for later, I have something to take care of." he told her before she looked at him confused.
"I thought you had some free time now." she said.
"The soldiers reported to me that an two unknown kids, a boy and a girl, withdraw the swords we buried in the village of Bernia, do you know what that means, Reina?"
The blonde's eyes widened, "You don't mean that he's.."
"She could also be alive, after all she wasn't targeted to begin with." he explained, "Lend me your spear."
The knight immediately gave it to him, "Yes, sir."
"You're not doing what I think you're doing, right? You might destroy the whole village." the blonde said.
"Then they could count that as their punishment." Gilthunder said before grabbing the spear. Applying his lightning to the spear, he threw it at the direction of the village of Bernia, having asked earlier about the village's distance and coordinates.
Back to the village of Bernia
Meliodas froze for a second before heading outside, Hawk who saw this caught him before he did. "Where are you going?" he asked.
"I have something important to do, wait a minute." he said.
"Now's not the time, Manager. This bar's surviving thanks to me." Hawk said proudly.
"What are you doing, Konomi?" Elizabeth asked as she watched the lilac as she stood up suddenly looking at a single direction. Before she could answer the princess saw a familiar blonde, "Meliodas-sama.."
"You came? I thought you'll miss the show." Konomi said, moving to the left.
"What show?" Elizabeth repeated bewildered.
"You'll see." the lilac replied while Meliodas got closer to her.
The spear flew between both the lilac and the blonde who quickly grabbed it. As a resulted they were both pushed a large distance into town with the spear, colliding into buildings and creating holes. Finally when the two managed to stop the spear, they threw it back to where it came from.
The fort
The spear attacked the fort at an unimaginable speed, landing right beside Gilthunders face, and destroying the fort.
"Gilthunder-sama" the knights called out.
"So you're alive after all.. The Seven Deadly Sins!"
"Doesn't that mean that she's also alive?" the blonde asks, appearing from the smoke caused by the spear.
"Yeah, but she'll get into a big trouble if it was proved that she is an ally to The Seven Deadly Sins." the pink haired holy knight answered.
Back the village of Bernia
"Meliodas! Konomi!" Elizabeth called as she ran closer to the two. The lilac was dusting off her clothes, "Was it a holy knight that attacked the village?" the princess asked.
"Probably." the blonde answered.
"We better get out of this town soon." Konomi said.
"But.. what if they attack this village again?" the princess asked.
"It'll be more dangerous if we stayed." the blonde said.
"Isn't there a place where we can hide?" Hawk thought out loud.
"Now that you mention it.. Mead said he would definitely never enter the Forest of White Dreams." she began, "It seems that the Holy Knights want to avoid that forest."
"Sounds too dangerous!" Hawk shouted.
"And fun to visit!" the lilac yelled.
"Then it's decided! We will do what we need to do." Meliodas said grinning.
"What do you mean?" the pig asked.
"Don't tell me.." the princess said as she began to catch on to what he was saying.
"Yes!" the blonde nodded.
"There's probably one other sins over there." Konomi said, her hands crossed behind her head.
"Let's find our friends!" Meliodas exclaimed as everybody went to the bar and departing in the morning.
~
"Whoa! The fog is so thick!" Hawk exclaimed before they all entered the forest.
Meliodas the held Konomi's hand getting a questioning look from her, "What is it?"
"Just so you don't get lost." the blonde said looking away.
The lilac just shrugged, thinking nothing of it. She heard sounds surrounding her, it was as if something or someone was keeping their eyes one them.
Feeling a familiar presence not far from where she was, Konomi disappeared from besides Meliodas but not before muttering, "See ya guys later."
Meliodas's smile transformed into a frown.
"Geez! Where did that boy go? Leaving a young lady all by herself!" the lilac heard the familiar voice before stopping right in front the blonde she missed so much.
"Yo." Konomi greeted.
The blonde who just realized that she had company immediately looked at the lilac before her eyes widened. "I see you had grown up well." the blonde said.
"I don't think I had grown at all, Reina. But I could say that to you, you're not a six years old kid anymore." Reina smirked, looking at the lilac with a disgusted look.
"We came here to look for the Seven Deadly Sins, and I find you here. Are you one of their ally, Konomi?"
"Hmmm.. could be!" she said.
"Then you made yourself my enemy." Reina said before she launched herself at Konomi, plant surrounded the lilac's leg attempting to make her still. However, Konomi disappeared and appeared behind the blonde, kicking her lightly on the back.
"You improved!" Konomi said, "Back then you couldn't even perform a single attack correctly."
"I was six!" the blonde yelled angrily.
"Yeah, and you still managed to wet your bed."
"You still remember?" she shouted.
"Like it was yesterday." Konomi nodded. "You were as bad as Arata."
Instead of the embarrassed face Konomi expected to see upon mentioning her brother's name, Reina's face was filled with sadness for a moment, but that look vanished as soon as it came to view.
"Enough of the chit chat, it's time for you to die for betraying the kingdom and being an ally to The Seven Deadly Sins." Reina said before charging at the lilac, before she could reach heard she froze in place.
Instead of looking for a single Konomi, there were tons of them! Konomi who noticed her confusion looked behind only to be met by a clone of hers. The lilac's eyes sparkled, "This is so cool!"
"This is amazing!"
"There are so many of me!"
"Wow! They are also talking using the same voice I have!" Konomi observed.
"Whoa! They look exactly like me!"
"Well then everybody," Konomi shouted. "Scatter!" All Konomi's fled from all directions, Reina who managed to see through the real Konomi made giant plant grow.
"Take that!" Reina shouted as the plant attacked the lilac who was taken by surprise, and was thrown a big deal.
"There are so many clouds.. am I in heaven?" Konomi muttered, somehow comfortable with falling. Landing on an unexpectedly not so hard ground, the lilac shifted her gaze only to see Gilthunder under her.
"Hello, Gil!" she greeted.
"Where did you come from?" Hawk shouted to Konomi who realized that everyone were here, she also watched the strong giant beam at her.
"Hello, Konomi!" Diane squealed.
So they found the Serpent's Sin of Envy, Diane. Konomi thought. Five more to go.
"Hello, Diane!" Konomi greeted, still not wanting to get up from the back of Gilthunder, the lilac then noticed a certain blonde with a bad injury on his shoulder. "When did you get that scratch, Meliodas?"
"Just now, it's nothing to be worried about."
"Konomi! Jump!" Diane yelled, the lilac quickly disappeared giving an opportunity for the giant to grab the Holy Knight, Gilthunder.
"Unhand me!" the Holy Knight shouted angrily, trying to use his lightning to force Diane to unhand him but it was futile.
"Didn't I tell you a long time ago that shocking men AREN'T POPULAR WITH GIRLS?" she yelled, throwing the Holy Knight far away from the forest.
Konomi and Meliodas waved at the flying Holy Knight.
"Thank you Diane!" Meliodas thanked before he spotted the ruined finger-less gauntlet of her right hand, the hand that she had used to throw the Holy Knight. "You need a new one of those."
"Oh."
