nineteen
"Park Jimin kissed me, and I kissed him back,"
Kim Taehee stared at her reflection in the mirror, quite unsure if she was in fact the same woman she had promised to be five years ago.
Five years ago, she had fallen for Park Jimin. Five years ago, she'd dated Park Jimin. Five years ago, she'd broken up with Park Jimin, vowing to herself that she wouldn't fall for him again, that she would keep her heart under lock and key, protecting it from his antics.
And yet, five years later she was furiously kissing the boy who had made her heart hurt.
"God, what is wrong with me?" She mumbled, grabbing her bag, off to the hospital. She couldn't think about those things when she was busy with patients.
But as she opened the door, her face formed an expression of shock as she stared at the figure in front of her.
Speak of the devil.
"Park Jimin, what are you doing in front of my house?"
"I'm here to drive you to the hospital," The man beamed, leaning against the doorway, looking sleek and handsome in his black suit which nicely contrasted his blue-gray hair.
"It's quite alright, I take the bus. Besides, I'll make you late for work," She tried, shutting the door behind her, hurrying off down the stairs of her apartment block.
"You've missed your bus," The Park boy pointed at his watch, an expensive brand which the girl would only be able to afford after many years of practice as a doctor. "The 08:10, right? It's 08:17,"
He was, as always, correct. Apparently, the Kim girl had been having such a dilemma in front of her mirror that she'd forgotten the time. She needed to be at the hospital by half past.
"Which leaves me as your only option," Jimin grinned, opening the passenger door for Taehee who looked at him with slight hesitation. He softened. "Tae, you told me to prove it to you the right way. This isn't me doing that right now, this is me wanting you to get to work on time,"
That earned him a genuine smile from the girl. "Thank you, Baby J,"
"I forgot you knew that,"
"I don't forget things, Park Jimin,"
"Well, look what happened,"
...
A comfortable silence enveloped the vehicle and as they approached the hopsital, Jimin pulled his Porsche Panamera against the pavement, turning to face the Kim girl.
"I meant what I said, Tae," He said. "The last few years I've been feeling things for you, and the only reason I held back is because of what you said five years ago. Besides, you looked so happy without being in a relationship and I didn't want to break that streak. But yesterday, I just snapped when you said you really liked that Jo Seunghyeol guy,"
He took a deep breath. "Even if it'll take some time, do you want to try again?"
Kim Taehee was silent as she thought about Jimin's offer. Her heart was screaming, shouting at her to agree, to once again return to his arms as she had only half a decade ago. But her mind was far more rational, logical.
"Three weeks," She spoke. "Prove it for three weeks that you've changed and then we can try again,"
She smiled, pressing a small kiss onto the boy's cheek before exiting the car. "Thank you for the ride, Jimin,"
He remained frozen in his seat, surprised at the kiss, before breaking into a smile.
He would prove it.
He was going to win Kim Taehee back.
