Chapter 1

The air was warm as hormonal teens trudged inside the high school. School had just started up again and no one wanted to be there well almost no one. Gretchen Grundler was already inside, in math class with her friends. They were all mathletes and were currently trying to solve problems under 10 seconds. Of course they were close, still off by 3 seconds, they were the smartest students in the school they were bound to make it to 10 seconds.

On the top floor of the school, there was a single room for the ROTC program. Inside was no other than, Gus Griswald. He was with friends of his own, they were going through the list of the new recruits. Making new, harder strategies for them to accomplish.

On the opposite side of school, in the auditorium, held Mikey Blumberg and his dramatic friends. He was reciting his back to school poem, before they went over the new scripts for this years school plays.

While that was being held, right down the hall, Vince LaSalle was in the gym. He was playing basketball with his teammates who also were his friends. Since Vince joined the team, this school won every single game and they were planning to go to championship's once again and bring home the trophy for the 10th time in a row.

Outside the gym doors and to the back of the school was the patio. This was the stoners, druggies and trouble makers area, no one else was welcome unless they had a death wish. This is where Ashley Spinelli hung out with her friends. They were all planning their next scheme and passing around both a cigarette and joint.

Passing through was basically a shortcut to the football field. Roughing it up out there was our very own, Tj Detweiler. He, along with his football team, sat on the bleachers with the cheerleaders. They were messing around, talking about whatever high school jocks talk about. He was the most popular kid in school, he was also school president and prom king 3 years straight.

Senior year had come for this old group that had split apart. They each had their own lives now, some perfect others falling apart. Only Vince and Tj talked and it was usually just a, 'Hey,' or, 'Sup.' Either in the halls or at parties, other than that none of them really knew what was going on in the life of the other. They barely remembered each other's last name but soon they'd be stuck together. Some weird force not giving up till the were the best of friends again.
