Part One
It was a gorgeous morning in Ponyville, as per usual. Everypony was either out and about, or making plans for later. Fluttershy however, was pacing back and forth in her cottage, talking worriedly.
"Oh, Angel!" she exclaimed. "I'm not sure if I can do this! She'll never like me back, so there's no point telling her, is there?"
Angel made no comment, but rolled his eyes in obvious impatience. He had only been fed once today, and he was starting to get really crabby.
"I'm so sorry for being such a downer... I'm just really nervous. Rarity thinks that I should go for it and ask her out, but I'm way too scared," said the pegasus, shyly.
Suddenly, there was a repetitive knocking on the front door, and Fluttershy cowered in fear once the pony outside started talking. "Hey, Fluttershy! Are you in there?!" demanded an all too familiar voice. "It's your good friend, Rainbow Dash!"
"Yes, I'm here..." she said faintly.
"Is the door unlocked, or do I have to knock it down?" teased Rainbow.
Fluttershy giggled. "Yes, it's unlocked."
Not even a second later, Rainbow had opened the door and was carrying a light brown basket, just the perfect size for a couple sandwhiches and other snacks.
"Dashie!" exclaimed the yellow pony. "I told you that I'd get the basket, you didn't have to..."
"Oh please, it's the least I could do. You said that you would prepare the food anyhow."
Rainbow Dash had invited Fluttershy for a picnic just a few days ago, and Fluttershy hesitantly obliged. Part of her really wanted to hang out with her rainbow-haired crush, but another part of her was too shy and nervous.
"So... Where are we going exactly?" asked Fluttershy.
"I was thinking we could go to Sweet Apple Acres? But, I don't mind if you want to go somewhere else."
"Why Sweet Apple Acres?" inquired Fluttershy. "Is Applejack coming too?"
Rainbow grinned. "Well no... Didn't you hear that her and her family went to visit Pinkie's family again? She said that they are getting along well."
"Are you sure she'd allow us to-"
"Fluttershy!" Rainbow laughed. "She's our friend, of course it's fine. If it makes you feel any better, I already asked her if we could."
The yellow pegasus blushed and looked at the floor.
"So are you ready to go, Shy?"
"Almost, I just need to put our meal in the basket..." said Fluttershy. "Do you think maybe you could feed Angel for me? I uh... I'm pretty sure it's his supper time. If you don't mind, that is."
"Sure!"
"The carrots and lettuce are over there in that cabinet, by the way," stated the kind pony.

Once Rainbow had finished feeding Angel, and Fluttershy had packed all the snacks, the two ponies walked outside of the cottage.
"Would you wish to fly there, or would you like to walk?"
Fluttershy shrugged. "Well, if we flew we both know that I'd be way behind you."
Rainbow winked. "That doesn't have to be the case."
"Huh?"
"I could always pull you along."
"How would you do that?" squeaked Fluttershy. But she already knew the answer.
"Just hold on to my hoof, of course."
Fluttershy's face turned light red in a matter of seconds. "You don't mind?"
"Shy, of course I don't mind. Anything for a good friend."
After a moments hesitation, Fluttershy gripped onto her friends' right hoof, and Rainbow took off towards Sweet Apple Acres.
Author's Note:
This is my first Flutterdash story, so I hope it's ok. I may have this be two parts or three, I'm not sure yet. Anyway, thanks for reading. 😊
