(Legion Mate, season 4 of Cardfight!! Vanguard the series)

"Okay, I'm done!" Tari said after giving her last touch on Hoshiko's face and examined it carefully. "Guys, let me present you, my masterpiece," Tari said while dragging Hoshiko to stand before her. Soon, small groups of cardfighters there made noise commented on that scene. "Pssttt, can you all just be quiet?" Hoshiko desperately begged her friends. "Hhmm...It makes me wonder, why do you all gather here at the same time?" she asked while trying to make her skirt neater. "Wait, it doesn't usually happen. May I know, what is it all about, Tari?" she asked frowning. "Well, we're just soooo excited!!" Tari, with her innocence's face, clapped and smiled happily.

"Hoshiko, uumm...Did you just eat something?" Aya stared at her with a suspicious look. She'd never seen Hoshiko's face looked like that before. "W-What do you mean?" Hoshiko asked with a scary tone. Suddenly, all faces there looked at her (again). "Oh my, what's happening with your lips?.....Ah, I know! A bee has attacked you!" Masaru shouted covering his mouth. Linzo who just realised what's happening couldn't escape hiding his laughter. But, he stopped in a second after receiving a Hiraku's dig.
"TARIII!!...." Hoshiko yelled trying to catch Tari when Aika pulled her away. "It's okay Hoshiko, we'll fix it. Let her go," Aika said with her best smile, tried hard not to chuckle. "Did I say something wrong?" Aya asked trying to convince herself. "No, you didn't, Aya. You just really got the point," Rukia answered her question after reassuring there weren't Hoshiko and Aika anymore. "Wonderful, a very good idea, applying soooo extremely red 'hot' shiny color of your adorable lipsticks collection on Hoshiko's guiltless face," Yuri said sarcastically. "She'll need it, trust me. You know what? It's him who we're talking about. HIM! The hottest guy that ever exist in this world!" Tari said almost shouted. "Whatever," Yuri responded plainly ignored Tari's glare.

Yes, that day was an important day, well, for Hoshiko at least, and some of her friends too (since it happened for the first time), a Date!

"Okay, wish me luck!" Hoshiko said taking a deep breath. "Good luck!!" All her friends there replied in unison. She walked passing Yudai who was picking the cards up on the table.

"Thanks, Yudai. I promise I'll pay it back," Hoshiko said thankfully. She forced to smile, tried to get bravery, but unfortunately, it seemed like she needed more than just a luck, so hopeless.

Starting few weeks ago, Yudai and Hoshiko had been working as part time employees in Card Capital for different reasons. Hoshiko was about starting to get additional saving for a set of cute mini Vanguard figures. And Yudai, well, he had something to do with Kin's piggy bank (referred to YudaiMatsuro's book, "Things that make me weird", Random Stuff w/ Yudai Matsuro).

"Hey, it's okay. I'll watch over things for you. Oh, don't be panic, just give it your best shot, and it's all done, okay?" he thumbed up. "Yes, just do what I said and you'll find yourself as the most luckiest girl in the world," Yza added nodding with full of spirit. "O-okay," she replied shortly, had no idea what would she faced later on. To be honest, she wasn't so sure with 'give it your best shot' one, since all of her friends gave her very unbelievable impossible hints about 'what you should and should not do' in your first date!! (kinda blinking like a blazed every three seconds, speaking softly, oh whispering would be mostly recommended, etc. Seriously?!).

That's not a date, she just asked to have a little walk, ate some food, and a cup of tea or ice cream or whatever she'd be offered, with Ren (yeah, that Ren, Suzugamori Ren *sweatdrops*), she thought. But her friends, she didn't know how, made her sure that's a date. She sighed and continued walking to the park as their meeting point.

45 minutes later...

"I wonder, how much of her chances to succeed?" Yudai talked to Yza after finishing his works. "One hundred percent," he answered confidently. "Five to zero percent," Kaiko chimed in. "Nonono, a hundred and five percent now, she'll enter that door with a happy smile on her face," Yza insisted. "Nah, She's not his type," Kaiko replied emotionless. "Oooohh, yes, She is. I placed a bet on her success. Besides, I know about Ren-sama better than you," Yza said emotionally. "Knowing that he plays Shadow Paladin? The leader of Team Foo Fighters AL4?" Kaiko smirked enjoying Yza's depression. "What about you then? Knowing his favorite color? Knowing his bedtime? Favorite food? Books? Hair styles?" Yza began being provoked. "Yes, I do," Kaiko responded tilting his head. "No, you don't!" Yza stood up. "I am sorry but, I will say that I really do!" Kaiko stood up as well. "YOU!!" Yza yelled. "YOU!!" Kaiko shouted leaning his forehead against Yza's. "Ggggrrrrr!!" They both were completely growling each other now. Yunme, who sat near them and didn't know anything about those two's habits, was looking at them raising an eyebrow.

"Guys! Stop it, please!" Kyle began disturbed by their noisy. "Tck, can I have a 'nice' place to cardfight? And I swear for the sake of Dragon's World!! Where can I get earplugs here?!!" Izo shouted in frustration since Kyle's Oksizz was doing his victory dance exactly in front of his eyes. "Hey Dude, take these!" Ayato offered him two sheets of tissue papers. "What for?" he asked Ayato back. His brain which usually can be reliable in any situation went blank. "What's wrong with you? Do like this, watch!" Ayato gave him instruction while making two small balls of tissue papers. "See these?" He pointed at his own ears which already sealed by it. "Fine and thanks!" Izo replied grabbing the tissue and did it reluctantly. Kyle did coughing to hide his chuckle. "What? Problem?" Izo responded with his deadly voice. "Nothing!" Kyle simply said while clearing his throat.

Suddenly, the door was opened. There, Hoshiko stood up, bangs covering her eyes, a dark aura surrounded around her. In an instant, the atmosphere became hushed, even both Kaiko and Yza were stunned by her unusual appearance. She walked into the room slowly. "Just-tell me-the one-who came up-with-this-idea!" she hissed to them and nobody dared to answer it. Her head bowed when walking across the room headed over to a table and sat down on a chair. "What-a-stupid-little-girl! So-stupid!" Hoshiko spoke while softly banging her forehead (for each of words) on the table.

Soon, her friends came to comfort her (and she gave her replies) with the best words they could say.
"Don't worry, you still have us," "Hhnn," or "Just forget him, you deserve better," "I know," or "You could choose one of us then," "Okay,.....wait, WHATT?!!" she raised her head finally.
"AAWWW!!" Yza screamed, Rukia just stepped her foot on his with no mercy.
"Thank you, you're all my best friends," she sniffed, "But, the problem was, we're just talking about exchanging tasks!" she covered her face, "Can you imagine how ashamed I was? I did all you guys told me to do!" she started crying.

"Oohhhh......," they made choir. "It's okay, I think he didn't notice that," Aika tried calming her down. "He gave me Visine when I did those blinking thingy," she responded under her covered faced. "Poor Hoshiko," Masaru spoke spontaneously. "Sshhhhh, sshhhhh," Yudai put his pointer finger over his mouth, Linzo gave a soft dig (a revenge one). Hiraku, Yunme and Ayato speechless, Yza rolled his eyes, Izo smirked, Kyle bit his lip stood between the need to smile or kept cool, and Kaiko, he was about chuckling when the door's opened.

"Tadaima," Ren Suzugamori greeted. "Okaeri," Yudai, Kaiko and Yza replied in unison. "Hi, Kaiko, how's your day?" Ren did saying hello to Kaiko and it's more than enough to uplift his mood. "It's great, I hope you enjoy your day too, Ren-sama," he said happily, absolutely forgot his bad mood several minutes ago. "Oh, yes I do and I had a wonderful moment this afternoon," he smiled childishly while looked at Hoshiko who sank deeper into her seat. Hiraku and Linzo who accidentally looked at each other grinning. "Ano..Yudai, I guess Hoshiko hasn't told you yet, but maybe either you or she would be a manager in charges for the next five days. Both Shin-san and I will go to annual Cardfighters's Meeting in Osaka, is that okay for you?" he made sure Yudai got his massage. "It's fine, we'll discuss it later," Yudai replied it. "Thank you," Ren thanked him and walked toward Hoshiko. "Hi, Hoshiko-chan. I'm sorry I couldn't accompany you eat all that pies, Te-chan disturbed me with his calling," he sighed, "Oh, we've agreed with the switch thing, right?" he smiled sweetly. Yza totally forgot closing his mouth and the girls sighed in awe, 'why his smile was so cute?' (okay, they all were lost in daydreams).

The rest of the day was filled with whispers, grunts and Hoshiko's glares (she did it every single time her friends made movements). Only Yudai who was saved because he seemed (deliberately) preoccupied with other customers.

"Hoshiko, do you still have Royal Paladin Trial Deck?" Hiraku asked while started collecting his stuffs on the table. "Oh yes, may I get a new booster pack as well? If I'm lucky I'll get another Gurguit," Yuri shrugged. "I think you already had six cards of him, Yuri," Aya said in a wonder. "Just in case I lose, sink or forget their hiding place," Yuri replied shrugging. Aya just could do sweat dropping.

"Bye," Hoshiko turned back swept the floor . All of her friends were back home and she let Yudai went home before her. Finally, all done. And the sky color was still yellow when she left the shop, what a tiring day.

Meanwhile...

That little group of Vanguard cardfighters, who just left the Card Capital, walked passing the park when they saw Ren walked up to them in a hurry. His hand held something and he seemed smiling when he looked at that thing. In sudden, that group turned around to take another way when they saw Hoshiko walked toward them. "Spreading guys!" Yudai gave command. "Don't push me!" " Could you please just keep silent?" "Hey, I could see nothing, move!" They panicked because of the limited area for hiding.

"Hoshiko-chan!" Ren yelled waving his hand. And while he started quickened his pace, Hoshiko even slow it down.
"Happy birthday!" he said happily after facing her. "Eh? Do you remember my birthday, Ren-san?" she asked wondering. "Yes, I do," he grinned feeling amused knowing she must've never expected that kind of thing from him. "Thank you," she smiled. "Oh, I have something for you," Ren gave her a small red box. "For me?" Hoshiko asked surprisingly. "Of course, Hoshiko-chan!" he poked her nose. She couldn't help herself from blushing, and she believed if one of her friends was there, she was really in a big trouble. Blushing? She's blushing! Unbelievable!!

"Open it, please?" Ren begged with his cutest smile. "A-alright," Hoshiko quickly bowed her head to avoid his gaze. 'So cute' they both thought at the same time. "It's beautiful, Ren-san. Beautiful, I love it," she said thankfully when a beautiful long necklace was shining on her hand.
"Oh, want me to help you?" Ren took the necklace didn't need her permission and put it on her neck. "Thank you," she said softly rubbing a oval yellow and rose gold diamond leafs locket pendant. "Oh, there's a picture of me in a side and there's still a space inside, whenever you feel ready, you could put yours in another side, Hoshiko," he leaned and kissed her forehead softly. Hoshiko who never expected that, just stood there speechless. "Oh, I'm sorry if you don't like it," he quickly apologized. "Oh, I-I do really like it, arigatou, Ren-san," she smiled blushing. "Don't mention it, Hoshiko-chan," he rubbed his back neck sheepishly. "Aaa!! gomen, I must go now, I have a flight at eight!" he started panicking, "See you later, Hoshiko-chan. I'm really sorry I couldn't drive you home safely, gomen'nasai," he bowed. "It's fine, Ren-san. Besides, I wanna enjoy sitting here this afternoon, hhmm sunset," she quickly added. "Well then, see you soon, Hoshiko-chan," he back stepped and waved before ran along two or three steps forward. Hoshiko waved chuckling. It's a beautiful birthday that she'd ever had. She stared at the locket and smiled. Her face got redder, she blushed hard imagining her picture in another side of it. She raised her head and...

"Ren-kun!! Aishite......" she stopped by the second before yelling, "HOLY MOTHER OF MEGAZON!! WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING UP THERE?!!"
Masaru, Linzo, Yudai, Hiraku, Yza, Yunme waved from a branch of a tree. "Can you guys just quickly go down?!" Yuri said impatiently. "Alright, alright," Hiraku who sat on the lowest part of the branch turned his body prepared to go down. "Okay, be patient! And since when you're there?!" Linzo said wondering while lifting his head. "I'm faster at climbing than you all guys! Tch, just quickly please!" she started losing her patience when, Krraaaakk!!! ...."Wwaaaaa!!!!"...."Kyyaaaaa!!!"........They all fell down coincidentally with the girls who dashed out from a large bush under that tree for saving their lives.

Hoshiko gasped...
"Well, well, well...I got bunch of stalkers here," Hoshiko shook her head grinned evilly. "That seemed not like you see, we're not stalking you," Masaru stood up.
"I see.....," she nodded slowly wearing her evil smile, "Okay, I'll pretend to see nothing," she laughed. They all sweat dropped, 'not typically of Hoshiko' they thought. But whatever, as long as she wasn't mad at them.

"Girls, guys!" she released and swung the necklace. "Woowww!!" They all smiled. "You did it, girl!" Yudai said tapping her shoulder hardly. Unfortunately, the necklace's fallen!
All of them paused in silence!
The glass was broken, showing Ren's picture with his smile.
"Waaa,...so sweet!" Rukia stared at it and soon got a 'Sshhhh' from Aika. "That's bad. Not good at all," Tari shook her head.

Hoshiko lost her smile, dark aura (the darkest one) surrounded (the second time in that day) her. "Guys, any ideas?" Yudai asked nervously. "Be safe, Yudai!" Linzo tapped Yudai's shoulder. "May God save you," Yza chimed in. "W-what?!" Yudai got panicked and without any hesitation he started running. "Get back here!!" Hoshiko ran after him. "Will he be alright?" Hiraku asked worriedly. "Don't worry, they'll stop by itself," Linzo replied it. "Does it always happen?" Yunme ask wondering. "Not quite much, but they both kinda have mmm....," he frowned thinking of an answer. "Ability to mutually destroy each other's beloved belongings," Masaru added. "Aahhh, I see," Yunme nodded making a little notes in his mind, 'Yza-Kaiko, Kyle-Izo, Yudai-Hoshiko', what a 'wonderful' friendship, he thought.

"What did I do? I could fix it! It's just a glass!" Yudai defended himself on the sidelines of his running. "Just a glass you said? Just a glass?!!!" Hoshiko's getting crazier. "You broke my precious wings, remember?" he insisted still running. "How dare you comparing my Ren with your wings!" she growled.

At another benches not far from there..

"Not again!!!" Izo yelled after drawing his last damage check and got no trigger, "Aagghhh!!" he growled. "Easy buddy, I know that feeling. Just remember, The wheel of life is always spinning," Kyle responded wisely.
"Why are you smiling, Kaiko?" Ayato asked Kaiko a little bit curious. "Nothing, just nothing!" he answered lightly and kept his smile. 'Thanks, Yudai,' he talked in his mind.

"Excuse me!! Get outta my way, guys!" "Wooo, wooo...," Toju moved to the side of the street when Yudai was running through him and Arata. "What the...heeyy...," Arata just about started to continue his words when Hoshiko with her grim face run passing them. "Do we miss something, here?" Arata asked Toju, no need to be answered since they've already known the answer.
